Sure but they are watches that don’t mean anything , created from slavery with terrible customer support and no warranty and stolen designs (grand seiko sbge285) and cheap seiko movements
@Foxis1080 these very serious and unsubstantiated allegations have been disproven several times over. SM document the whole process. Also, they mean a lot to everyone who decides to get them.
@@younusimam-thesalamproject6340 the watches in the video use SEIKO movements, the customer support is through email or “chat box”, there is a 3 year warranty which they make you go through hell to use, and THIS LITERALLY IS A COPY OF THE MISTFLAKE????
Same here, can't see the justification in the premium of Swiss watches. For the cost of a single mid tier spec Tissot, Longines or Tag, you could have a full collection of Diver, Chrono, GMT, Dress and beater watch for every occasion. And San Martins non homages like this one, are hard to beat.
Why Swiss watch. These are copy’s of grand seiko that’s Japanese.
Chinese watches are outrageously cheap, because all the other "famous" brands are reap-offs.
Finally. SN0129 models are the best san matrin has to offer

How big is your wrist? I have a 6.3inch wrist and this watch fits me well due to its short lug to lug measurement. I can even wear the 44mm promaster diver as the watch only has I think 50mm lug to lug but that is my limit

If it's not real lapis or other natural materials that would diminish the excitement for me a lot. i haven't seen any official answer from SM on that question yet.

Thanks for the video Ben :) Btw new Cadisen C8227M is an unbeatable value atm especially green one :) Sapphire crystal, NH35a movement, 316L metal and awesome look. It's a bit large though 40mm instead of my favorite 36mm :(
Many of you are stereotypical when it comes to China made goods. Here is the thing. China is technically capable of making good quality things. Think about it. China independently developed and manufactured 5th generation fighter jet. China built their own space station. China has their own global positioning system etc. It all depends on how much money you are willing to pay. Since cost of manufacturing is cheaper in China, you usually get more value for the same price you pay. I know there are many junk China made products. They are dirt cheap. You simply shouldn't expect to get same quality when you are only willing to pay that little. I have encountered cheap American junk products, or cheap junk from other countries.

Pretty sure aventurine looks better for darker dial option, I was tempted to get it but since I have the Revelot gentus with aventurine dial, settled for the good looking lapis lazuli dial instead although my preferred one was marble but decided not to get it due to its legibility issue (white dial+polished hands)

I am struggling to decide which watch to get as my first watch. Please help me, my options are the new EFR-S108D or the Addiesdive desert dial watches that you reviewed.
Get the EFR-S108D if you’re deciding between the two, best to start off with a brand that has better customer service and a bit more prominence just in case. That being said I own a san martin gmt and they’re absolutely brilliant, bigger brands should be intimidated.

San Martin have price double than Orient some model, Orient made movment , never buz San Martin for 250 to 500 I radar buz Orient.

Doszedł w końcu Chiński zegarek automatyczny "LIGE" i po pierwsze ma mało widoczną tarczę (zupełnie inaczej widoczna jest w porównaniu z ich zdjęciami) a po drugie również nie działa, lub mało skutecznie bziała nakręcanie automatyczne. Pół dnia nosiłem do 22:00 na ręku a rano około 8:00 balans pracował już ledwo, ledwo i musiałem nakręcić ręcznie. Jestem trochę rozczarowany bo najbardziej mi zależało na sprawnym, automatycznym nakręcaniu od ruchu ręki. Przeciw waga lata jak szalona ale (cała para idzie w gwizdek).

Actually I have a question for you, im on my way to creating a microbrand with special dials like this Sand dial, and can't decide between a model thats similar to a Rolex oyster perpetual vs the Rolex Submariner. Which one would you prefer? I originally thought Submariner cause it's more popular, but the special dial is way more prominent in a dress watch. What so you think?

Absolute crap - it's like buying a Ferrari with the engine of a go-cart. Chinese junk. Looks & feels good but doesn't last.
Your Ferrari analogy is a little off. It's not like a go cart engine, it's more like a Toyota Corolla engine, reliable and Japanese but not high performance.
These watches really aren't junk, they aren't going to fall apart on you or stop working quickly. The quality is actually pretty decent.
The problem is the stigma surrounding being a clone brand.
I'm a 6'5" 250LB brute, so these little watches won't fit my 9 inch wrist. Too bad because they look pretty nice.
Those Chinese do it well, years ago they decided not to make cheap junk. But really top watches with the best materials and good final controls. at fair prices. These watches blow away Swiss watches, in the 1000/1500 euro class. For 400 euros you can buy a top watch from San Martin
Today it is more important the outside design then does the watch work correctly. I have Seiko, looks very nice but every day is 40 sec in delay. Ordinary garbage. Next time first check how precise the watches are working.
Nice watch. Reminds me of an Explorer 2, and a little Grand Seiko snowflake.
I just looked at their prices on their European site...I mean they look good but they cost the same as Seiko 5 ....so why then?
Nice watches but way too thick... which looks very tacky and cheap on the wrist. If they were thinner they'd be superb.

Whilst respected brands outsource manufacturing to the PRC, it is difficult to avoid buying made in China, but I will do my best to not support the PRC regime.

Which one would you prefer? I originally thought Submariner cause it's more popular, but the special dial is way more prominent in a dress watch. What so you think?
just a tip, you CAN adjust the bracelet smaller while on wrist. just not larger.

Where are you seeing this? I only see the original model on the San Martin website and their Aliexpress store. I do see the dial and full red hand on the gemstone dial models.

I bought one San Martin (SN019 Sub homage) and it’s fair. Has the glide lock clasp, slips and nothing like the original. The cyclops is malaligned and the PT5000 movement is accurate but pretty rough when winding. Case and bracelet are well made. Think I paid about $300 for it. Would I do it again? No. It’s an absolute knockoff and every time I ever wore it someone mistook it for the real thing. Got tired of feeling like a perpetrator so it sits on my nightstand. Moved on to other divers.
I've been wearing a submariner homage daily for 6 years and I've been asked exactly twice what kind of watch it was. Hard to imagine someone mistakes yours every time you wear it.
I do understand though, I want to move away from branded homages as well, might still wear custom diy built homages though with no branding. Haven't decided yet.
Hi, nice watch, but I was wondering if it was really a GMT or if I just had the 24 hour hand connected to the 12 hour hand. Since the bezel can't rotate, how do you know what time it is in another time zone?
In your video the two hands move together, basically the 24 hour hand only tells you if it's day or night...
Can you tell me if they are independent? and if you can see a second time zone?

Compared to Citizen, Orient or Seiko are cheaper than San Martin, more reliable for under $300.00, and way more styles to choose from!
By the links you give, those watches are 350-450 EUR. How is it cheap and why is it better or is competitive to 450 eur watches from known brands? If I invest that money in a watch I would go for swiss or Japan made. Definitely not for a watch from AliExpress.

The "Stars" dial looks interesting but to much playing for my taste , i would go for the white dial one .
San Martin's level of polishing is just insane......that's not something cheap polishing, as you can see there is not so much distortion on the polishing surface. The Chinese watch company did really upgrade their games.

I've been able to buy quality watches from Casio and others for less than 50 bucks that look great, have variety of styles and colors. With high inflation in the US the secondary markets have figured it out.
The shipping delay on the black aventurine is killing me. It’s been over a month and still awaiting shipment, but I’m extremely excited to add it to my collection.

For example if you bought a Mercedes in 1994 and I bought a Fiat the same year at a quarter of the price you would you would then say the Fiat was cheap, but if the reality was that the Mercedes ran for 30 years with no other cost than normal maintenance whilst the Fiat needed contant repairs in the end costing a fortune and much more than the Mercedes in total ownership cost over 30 years you would not then say the Fiat was a cheap car. I think the quality of the item should be regarded and not just the buying price.
