That orange is gorgeous!!! I find it curious that you think this watch is almost too dressy for GADA category. That’s actually why it is GADA. You can dress it up with a nice leather and it will look great with a suit. Put it back on the bracelet or a rubber and it will wear great with jeans and T-shirt or in the pool. Perfect blend of sport/dress.
If specs are all you care about, yes. But every single watch I've ever seen of them, it's just....ehhh. This one's a little better because I like the dial and the bracelet is interesting. I own one of the new BB54 homages and the hands are misaligned and the clasp on the bracelet is wobbly. I took the bracelet off and I wear it on a rubber waffle strap. But it's just a reminder that these are cheap Chinese watches. People say "OMG but the SPECS!!!!" and that's all well and good, but it remains to be seen if a San Martin will still be running in 20, 30, 40 years like Seikos and Citizens do. And I'm not so sure.
I think that the size is perfect for you! I really like this model, the dial texture and the bracelet really stand out. I have the blue dial 39mm version you already reviewed and it fits my 6.5 in wrist. I prefer the blue over the orange in this case even though I am quite into unusual colours.
I don't see even a minuscule amount of "dressy" in that. That looks like an everyday, get scratched and marked and dirty type watch to me. Looks high quality.
That orange looks really nice! I think that 36mm works for you. For me the 39mm is the sweet spot as I have a larger wrist. Thank you for the great review Ben!
An hour ago, I was looking for a review of the 36mm version of this watch.... could not find anything, and I just ordered the 36mm in the new gray dial color. Happy to see that 30 min later this video was published and to see that the 36 mm looks great
The bezel looks slightly inset from the case, which helps make it even more wearable. I've avoided San Martin til now but this might finally be the one for me too. That bracelet looks amazing, combined with the thinness that's great value.
i have the same issue with the watch being too nice for everyday wear. The dial on mine is slightly tilted (rotated) to the left. Watchmaker said he can not fix it because of how dial feet are seated =(
I have to say, San Martin makes sizes for everyone. If you have a small wrist, There’s a San Martin for you. They’re the opposite of Spinnaker or Citizen who hover around the 41mm and above case sizes for most of their watches.
Doesn't look l too small for you IMO, looks perfect. Getting a bit tired of fume dials myself, though. Wouldn't it be great if they somehow came up with a more refined logo?
Looks good on you! I'm still really enjoying my SN0144.

San martin easily has the best finish and spec in sub $500 category
I'd give that honor to Helm, but fair call.
Cronos, Proxima and Ixdao come very close to SM finishing too.

San Martin 👍👍👍
Incredible brand.
Enough said.
I have the blue 39mm one and its most worn in my collection
I think that's the exact size for your wrist mate 👍 finishing looks pretty good even on video.

The orange watch face perfectly fits Ben's flamboyant lifestyle 😅
That orange is very pretty Ben!
Looks exactly like one of those 2nd model Erebus watches, I'm guessing it's possibly the same manufacturer!

As you turn that watch around the dial almost glows as if we're back lit. Small for me but very nice.
Great to see the 36mm versions get a review. Whats the effective lug-to-lug with those male endlinks?
Looks small when holding it as opposed to when on the wrist because when in hand, it contrasts with that massive clasp.
This does NOT look small on you. Looks like the perfect size

Check out the Leyenda Diver haha Loving mine ;)
Hello Ben. Have you seen the Orient WV0061SE? I think you will like it.

The orange would look good on a tiger 😂
It's 19mm lugs
