Would you recommend:
1) that your fuel tank have 1/4 or less fuel in when doing this and
2) adding additional black gasket sealant to the access door when putting the access door on?

My answer is this: for your 1st question it is recommended that the fuel tank has fuel up to 1/3 (and not less), while for your 2nd question you can unreservedly add additional sealing material as long as it is suitable for this work.

Do you know what's the part number for the fuel filter?
Have you tried those Chinese eBay ones? Are they reliable?
There is no OEM part number just for the fuel filter. The fuel filter comes with the fuel pump and the part number is OEM 23220-22120. Now as for the Chinese fuel filters I haven't tried them and don't know how reliable they are. What I did with my filter was to clean it with WD-40 and that way all the dirt that was in it was gone. So simple!

This video shows how to replace the fuel pump pre-filter, not the actual in-tank fuel filter.
My friend one is the fuel filter and it is integrated in the fuel pump of the tank. There is no other second (pre-filter)

Is this like a serviceable item? Do you have to change it every x km? If so, how many? I guess you have to replace the whole fuel pump, right? Even if it's working fine
Most newer Toyota's have fuel filters that are designed to last the life of the car (like the 10th generation Corolla). The only way to know for sure is to look it up in the owner's manual for your vehicle.
Signs Of A Clogged Fuel Filter
A bad fuel filter affects your engine's performance. When a fuel filter is too clogged, your engine won't get enough fuel or any fuel at all. When this happens, you'll notice some of the following signs:
1. Reduced engine power
2. Engine stumbling when accelerating
3. Misfiring
To confirm that your fuel filter is bad, you can do one of these two things:
1. Perform a fuel pressure test
2. Give the fuel filter a visual inspection
If you want to change the fuel filter you can change it.

Hi, Yiannis. Maybe it can be useful to you. Now is the free of charge worldwide service action from Toyota for Corolla 150 (2007-2012) . They should change fuel filter for free. Call for your official Toyota dealer to check or better do it by yourself on site using your WIN Code. Also they should change pyro patron of passenger airbag and others things.

My 2013 corolla pump goes out every 3 months . Anyone has had this issue before?
The top reasons for fuel pump failure are contamination, overheating, and the gears in the the fuel pump wearing out over time. Rust, debris, and dirt are three common particles that can somehow enter the gas tank and be fed towards or through the intank fuel filter and possibly into the fuel pump.
I may be a bit late to respond, but try to always have your car filled up with fuel. Going to reserve will eventually make the fuel pump go bad
I don't think that's the filter that's the screen the filter is the whole plastic part that the pump and everything fits into you might want to check on that
This is the fuel filter shown in the picture. The only difference is that Toyota sells it together with the plastic container that the filter is attached to. Toyota does not sell the filter separately
The little round thing that you pulled out you might a call today fuel filter but that's a fuel regulator
