Commands Used:
net user administrator /active:yes
net user administrator /active:no
This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the hidden built-in elevated Administrator account in Windows 10.
In a situation when you have multiple users in your Windows 10 PC at home or office, where a Windows 10 Account needs to be disabled because of a security reason or because that particular user has created a nuisance, it’s a good idea to disable the user account instead of just deleting that account. This way, if you want to enable it later, you can always do that.
In this Windows 10 tutorial, I will tell you how you can disable, and then, later on, enable a Windows 10 Account. It can be a local account or an account which was created using a Microsoft Account. This can be achieved both using the “Computer Management” interface or using the Command Prompt.
When you are on the login or welcome screen, the Administrator account is not an option by default in Microsoft Windows 10. You can enable this feature with the following steps.
Before you begin, you should know that this works with Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise editions only, and your account should be an Administrator Account. If you are using a Windows 10 Home version, it’s not going to work for you.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

Even after giving the command administrator still displays in my login screen 😭
As soon as I right click on command prompt it says "This app has been blocked by your administrator." :( is there any other solution i can take? Thank you
open regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
after that, find the 'EnableLUA' key and set it to 0.
and lastly reboot :)

Dude my accses is denied how to doit??
Additionally, normally when I boot up, I have a Lock Screen where I put my pin. Now it’s just bypassing all that and going directly to my other ( non admin) account.
When you are logged into the built-in administrator account click ' Win+X ' keys and then in the shut down or sign out drop down menu click on ' Sign out '.
You will be brought back to the login page where you can choose Administration or your Local admin account.

Hope this works for me. i havea lenovo and for some reason i cannot get admin rights on my OWN PC. never had to til recently when i had to change a driver letter. and NOPE. when i hit CMD and run as admin....there is a NO box but not a YES...which is what ive been running into. SO odd. copy paste your info and say access denied. i have to call them which i did and got transferred around but no one could help me. go figure.

I know this was 2 years ago..but I downloaded server 2016 and now it’s stuck on admin mode (the black screen) shows your account is disabled. I can’t get past the screen at all 😥 helpppp
ok so to fix this boot into windows recovery (press restart while holding shift)
after you have booted up you should be greeted with a blue screen that has recovery options. now click troubleshoot > advanced options > command prompt and type these commands:
C:
cd \windows\system32
xcopy.exe cmd.exe sethc.exe
wpeutil.exe reboot
now once your back on the logon screen, spam shift until you see a command prompt. now type:
net user Administrator /active:yes
taskkill.exe /f /im logonui.exe
now you should be able to login to the built in admin account and regain access to ur pc

Today I accidentally clicked the alternate acct and now I can’t access my admin acct. I tried your fix and I get a bunch of stuff saying the syntax of this command is:

I can't switch the safe mode to download app or delete anything.
I found it but is telling me, For security and performance, windows only runs Microsoft-verified apps and I can't switch tosafe mode I forgot my Administrator password.
I have to make this work if it doesn't I have to pay a Tech $150.00
