For my area between 6-10pm is the best time to drive. Last Friday for example I got out there late but i drove from 7-10pm and made almost $90 so not complaining!

I live in Winston-Salem NC with around 250,000 people living here. My routine is to wake up at 8, workout from 9-10:15, to etc things from 10:15 to 11, and since I’m in a normal hotspot zone, I’ll hop right on from 11 to around 1:30. Take a break from roughly 2 to 4:30, then back at it around 5 to 8:30 latest. That’s what I found works for me time wise. Of course multi-apping, $1.75+ / mile, and for a 20 year old, I make some good money doing it 😎

My goal is to make $350/week since I don’t need a lot of money, but if I really push myself like I have been this past week, easily $700/week or better

Overnight is pretty solid usually if you can get on earn-by-time. There is a terrible McDonald’s that’s open 24/7, so I always go there. Communicate with the costumer that it’s going to take awhile. Usually I get like an extra 20 minutes while waiting, plus a 5-10 dollar tip from the customer. I end up getting like 15-20 dollars for a small order that way.

I have found no rhyme or reason to my best days. One week it might be Monday and Thursday and the next week it might be Tuesday and Saturday. Definitely weekdays during lunch give you the best shot at a catering order.

4 pm to 10 pm. Is busy. However, I will happily work lunch and cherry pick while I hang out in parking lots. The bottom line is if you work during peak hours you're going to put a ton of miles on your car for minimal pay

Mike , I live and Dash in SW Washington but I have Dashed in Las Vegas NV where there are endless boulevards with restaurants and stores on both sides of the street - everywhere. The Downside of my Washington city-area of less than 100,000 people is lack of opportunities and therefore needing to take More Rural deliveries which take a lot of Time. The flip side working in a major metropolitan market means lot's of traffic lights, millions of people everywhere and thousands of delivery options. You still drive long distances either way. And if your acceptance of offers goes down so will your opportunities from Door Dash. ( 2 years / 3600 deliveries and also using another platform to fill the gaps ). My acceptance rate has always been over 95% . Hope this helps someone out there Mike !

Weekends are busiest for my area. And evenings from 5-8 I can easily make $20+ an hour! I need to try out lunch as well, cause $60 a day isn’t enough. EBT is always best, as it’s always $18.50+ tips per hour in my market! The town/Zone close to me is $14.75 🙈

Everyone also need to consider whats happening in their respective markets. I.E. Sporting events, Fairs, holidays, etc. Those events impact how business is going to be. for instance when the fair is in town in my market literally every business in thebcities sales drop.

Here, early morning (6-8am) usually DD is 'very busy' but rarely would I be available because I don't want to deal with rushhour traffic, or I'm working my regular job. Lunch hour usually between 11:30-1:30 can pick up a bit, and then the dinner hour which I find picks up around 4pm to about 7pm but I'll wait a bit for the afternoon rushhour traffic to die down, the gig pay doesn't make the traffic frustrations worth it.

I would agree with DoorDash times. I mix it up do a morning 7-11 then maybe go out again in the night. The next day do a lunch rush usually 11-5 and yes you do get more shop and delivery’s along with a grocery pickups after 2. My market is huge on Safeway deliveries especially in the morning hours 7-9am. I can usually do 3 maybe 4 in a hour depends on the distance. I accept a lot of deliveries even if they aren’t the greatest and it does work out with $100-$120 on a average of 5-6 hours, also I only do DoorDash as the others are either not available or I been booted from the service

the busiest is clearly the evenings. Low miles choices will get you 3 or 4 deliveries in a hour. But then you gotta choose decent restaurants who have the food done.

I wonder what city that document on inactive time was at. There is no way that's true. Accept more means in my area deadhead driving further, which means spending more time driving back. So not only is my inactive time higher, but my costs are even higher. Gasoline is not free, nor is the wear on the tires, brakes and oil.

Well in Las Vegas I don't dash much 72 lifetime. Last order was for 2 deliveries for $25 and app says 55 minutes. No idea mileage cuz it don't show that anymore. But doordash pay $10.50. So u think 10 bucks would have been the offer if both customers didn't tip? I doubt it, I see it alot base pay is less than a buck a mile, it's same most of the other apps with shop & deliver. If u don't mind the mileage u can get $20 orders like crazy 15,20,25 miles and half are deadheads, in Vegas anyway! Not to mention construction here is out of control, cones everywhere.

I make a easy $700 by doing 3 2.30 hr shifts early morning, lunch, dinner. I have been approved to drive for rideshare so I'll be throwing that in for my mornings instead and using doordash like i used to for lunch and dinner only. Even if I just get 3 rides a morning from what I've seen it will blow what I make for doordash out of the water and easier to lets see how it goes I'm just waiting on my welcome package from uber.

Shop and deliver sucks balls. You never get that on pay by time, because DD will not pay you for that. Just expected an offer on Saturday for shop and deliver for 4 items. Money and mileage good. As I was walking into the store, another offer came in that was OVER THE TOP for 8 items. On the second order, the store did not have ANY OF THE BONELESS steaks that the customer wanted. Had to continually contact them about this issue. They were pissed. These are a 2 pre packed item. Finally had get get the butcher to open up a bone in package and cut the bone off. They were not happy about that, and took about 15 to do so. Now back to the first offer. Lady what garbage bags. Done. Then she wanted a dozen assorted donuts for a certain price. This store no longer sells a dozen donuts in a pack, only 6 which is almost the same price that was given. Took another 10 for the baker to help me. He just put 2 of the 6 packs together and changed the bar code so it would read right. Here is where is were EVERYTHING with shop and deliver sucks. The next item she wanted was 2 Twinkie flavored coffee drinks. Could not find them. Ask another employee. Took them another 5 minutes to come back and tell me that the item has been DISCONTINUED FOR OVER 6months. The customer did not want any substitutions. Several messages later, the lady was very upset, because she kept getting the same message from DD. She just wanted a refund for that item. I could not check out or do anything at this point. Called customer support, which should have been VIP SUPPORT and waited over 10 minutes for them to answer. Had to unassigned both offers from support because they could not help me at all either. Both of the unassignments counted against me, and DD WILL NOT TAKE THEM OFF.
