That is a great point. When you cherry-pick, you must turn the app off that you are not using. If you get a good gig, wait until you are close to delivery and turn it on again. Do not risk declines!
@@nathanielfarrell9349 I have tried the timeout on DD, and they still rate it. I have also used the timeout on Ubereats, and I think it also counts as a decline. This would be a Great Question for Mike!
I always tip ALWAYS, but the biggest mistake that door dashers make is taking it out on thier customers, when you fill out your order it states dasher tip, if your not being paid thats between you and your employer, we don't know, don't take it out on the customer if you get between 5 and 10 dollar tip thats not bad, but telling your customers that they have no business ordering, if they can't tip $20 then dont order, cool we won't, and then when you don't have a job with door dash anymore, because nobody is ordering you can look for a job somewhere else, its the same with restaurants if people don't come in then you don't have a job at all, maybe they Should pay a living wage and eliminate the tipping
Best time for earn by time is monday to thursday between 11am to 3pm in areas that have alot of office buildings close to restaurants. Things are slower or u could be sent far ..or theres traffic hence that time just adds up.. then at nights or weekends ..earn by offer is better because ..less traffic and things just seem faster
I've been doing Uber since 2016 and Mike is dead on with the math literally dead on I'd rather it be two dollars a mile though if you don't do two dollars a mile you're gonna end up with a dollar mile cash flow that goes straight to the mechanic
At the end of the day at 100 miles a day you need to be making $200 a day to fix the car with $100 and pay your insurance and to pocket the other hundred dollars otherwise you’re just paying for a mechanic you’re literally paying to do deliveries for your customers unless they are tipping you two dollars a mileunless you end up earning two dollars a mile including getting back to where you can get another trip you are literally paying to do it
DoorDash the other day sent me 7.00 for 7 miles which is kinda normal in my market place in Michigan. It was also 2 orders I cancled the one of the orders and was still paid 7.00… So I called support and argued with them why I was paid the same and why the other order was for free.. The order according to them was 1.25 from the order I cancelled. So the other must have had a hidden tip. I then asked support if base pay was 2.00 and how can you ask me to deliver for 1.25 for the other 5 miles. She had no answer and I was hung up on by support. I did record the whole conversation also. This company is truly robbing Peter to pay Paul to get orders completed and should be illegal. I also asked her if she thought their customers would like to know their money is being used to make orders and not going to the driver. All they say is I understand your frustration and that the system makes these orders not DoorDash lol. I wonder who programmed the system? Shady company for sure.
Keep a good attitude, a few times when I mess stuff up like forget a drink, or drop at wrong house, I’ve actually gotten extra tips. Also I think sometimes if your feel like your in a bad area for orders it’s worth trying out other areas
If you don’t hold out for two dollars a mile, you’re gonna get one dollar a mile cash flow only straight to the mechanic and at some point your car will not survive. The math works out to where the car dies after about 80,000 miles of this unless it’s two dollars a mile you won’t have enough for a new car or a repairbecause Uber has passed the maintenance part of owning a cab company onto the driver and lowered the price so the driver doesn’t even get the price that was being charged by the cab company that included repair of the cab
Hopefully what y’all are learning for Mike is that he is looking at the data and that you have to. It’s a recurring theme even though he’s telling you the individual things you need to do it’s driven because it has to be. They’re looking at the data. Are you how much did you spend in time gas and repairs to make how much today you didn’t calculate that at the end of the day you don’t even have a trip log this is not the dress rehearsal. Let’s step up the game.
It’s not really DoorDash it’s the customers who getting that monthly pass for free delivery and if they don’t tip DoorDash just add what they feel for a tip but it won’t be no more then 2.50-3.50 tip depending how far you going but the customers be lying about they food say people ate it or they didn’t get it so to cover you employees need to record after the drop off to save yourself and then DoorDash can band the customers for lying but to keep it 💯 DoorDash is really done
@juanitajohnson7126 it is doordash mainly. They want you to make their money while not paying you to do it. No, way should they ask me to drive one way 13 miles for $2 then 13 miles back.
Personally would say otherwise for less busy areas particularly in California be picky with what you accept in different aspects like not accepting any order under 5$ but anything above that is fair game except if the dollars to miles is less than a dollar per mile mainly cause you also get paid based on active time here compared to other areas which I'd like more input to compared to other places where low acceptance rates doesn't have much value but here it does have value
Made $28-32 per offer on a few deliveries using EBt. But yeah, it sux most times and agree, I’d say it’s for rookies 😂. Uber eats offer $20/hr and I tried that and it sucked too.
Earn by Time is not offered in Denver or here in Boulder. At least not for me. It was elsewhere I've delivered though, especially in Cortland, NY & Charlotte, NC.
For me it really depends on the location and what is around, if I know it's a lot of fast food I choose per hour cause the wait time I'll only be able to get one order in a hour. But the suburbs are more local stores and are much faster I'll do per order since I can turn around 2-4 orders in a hour.
So I'm not a super new driver but I have to say in my Market North Dayton Sunday is the only day I do earn by time. Not sure why but every restaurant service times are ungodly slow on Sundays.
If you don’t listen to his dollar 75 a mile then you won’t take advantage of the math that he has done and then you won’t have money for anything except car repairs. You really need to hold the line out at two dollars a mile in my opinion, including the trip back to his zone where you can get another ride.
I don't see how you can have a high acceptance rate over 70% unless you only dash at really high peak times. But even that you get like 7 out of out 10 trash orders.
I get 5.50 offers on a regular on busy days and I complete roughly 15-20 in an 8 hour period which isn’t bad when you think about it however I would say that if you got a massive zone your more likely to do more driving and thus earn by time would be better suited where as if your in a smaller zone say 20 miles/30 ish kilometres then your better off just sticking to earn per offer as your gonna earn more that way due to the smaller zone
Everyone needs to hold out for the two dollars a mile so that we all realize that we have the final choice in every deal and if we won’t make the deal then they will have to listen and either raise the prices or change something but
I Dash in and around Columbus, Ohio and EPO is best during the day and late at night, EPT is best during the rush hours. Earn per offer if there is no traffic and you are in a city or suburb that has a high population density. Earn per time is better during high traffic times and when all the areas around you are busy.
Mike my GF is having trouble figuring out how to determine where a delivery is going before she hits accept. Even though I ride with her she is reluctant to go into a bad area. We drive away from it & then we are running into horrible traffic with Xmas festivities. We are still in our 1st 50 deliveries, if that matters? We don't do shopping orders.
I’m in the twin cities MN. DD is 15.75 and Uber eats offer $17-20/hr and they both suck for EBT. Waste of your time. Just learn to work quick, efficient, and take good orders.
I don't completely agree with the "Checking apps when you're not doing this" point, especially if you're someone who struggles to take necessary time off and take a break from everything. While gig work can be a rewarding and enriching experience (I've certainly had my moments of experiencing this), it can also wear you out when you're constantly fixating on stats and chasing the money and trends. You need to give yourself time off to recoup and gather your thoughts, and I'd hate to see people obsessing over the apps during their time off if it comes at the cost of time with family/friends/hobbies/etc. Now obviously it's a good idea to keep up to date with how things are going in your market or neighboring markets, especially for the pursuit of financial stability and gain, but don't let it cost you everything else that you feel life is worth living for too. Stay safe out there everyone and remember to give yourself some time off and take breaks!

Thanks for another great video, Mike! I’m a new Dasher in Medford, Oregon, and Dash Now is rarely available. It’s tough to hit my $200 daily goal without working 10-12 hours a day. Would raising my AR help me get priority access to Dash Now so I can start earlier, like 6 a.m., and have more consistent scheduling? I am asking because someone I know in my area has consistently made $200 or mor a day but he has the ability to Dash Now anytime because his AR is always above 70%. I am just not sure it is worth taking so many low paying offers to keep my AR high enough to Dash whenever I want. I am just doing this full-time while I look for another job. Thanks!
You can schedule ahead if you’re below the 70% AR. I’ve never gone below 50 (I average in the 60s - just can’t seem to make it above 70 for very long because I refuse the trash orders), so I’m not sure where the cut off is to be able to do this. I’m in the Mac/Newburg OR zone. I set my alarm for 3pm every day to go in the app to schedule ahead. I can do it for 6 days out. If you dash on those days/times - great. If not, at least you’re on the schedule and you have a choice. You can also start your dash and then pause it (I set a timer) if you’re not ready at the start time on your schedule (holds your place). I refuse to take bad orders just to keep my AR up. I get decent orders if I set my parameters (like Mike talked about). It’s the only way it’s worth my time, gas, and wear and tear on my car. Hope this helps - happy dashing! 😅
Where I am I have to stay platinum to be able to dash anytime I want, im my area that is AR over 80%. For me, it's worth it because I dash full time around my bfs works schedules and doc appointments

Will doordash allow me to use a tablet??? I am thinking about getting into the business and I already have a tablet that I am well accustomed to and a regular cell phone. Do I have to purchase an I-phone or can I use my tablet for doordash work???
That’s overkill. I use an old iPhone XS to run all my multiple apps at once. Save yourself the headache and risk of getting your car broke into if you forget your tablet inside the car. Tablets are too bulky and get in your way. One decent phone is sufficient enough to run 5-8apps at once. And to answer your original question, you can use anything that can access their app.
@@terrierkeeper yes. You may have a hard time doing DD lol. I already told you that you could use anything, as long as it can download the app and have service, which includes your tablet.
Use the algorithm to your advantage pick up a low paying ride and make it take seven minutes longer on the front end and seven minutes longer on the back and giving Uber 15 minutes to know where you’re going to be at the end of that trip do that with every trip and accept all trips for a few trips And what do you think about it? Uber will know exactly where you are and when you can anchor that you’ll start making money no matter what trips you accept because they make money when you make money the longer you can let Uber know where you’re going to be the more money you’ll make Sometimes on a double order. I’ll cancel one piece of it and pick up the second piece and then I’ll pick up an additional piece that comes in and cancel the second piece and now I’ve got two new double orders and I can shuffle them out sometimes until like a $50.10 mile trip out of town if I can pick one that’s heading out of town first it’s a double order as soon as I can identify that it’s a double order
No, the biggest mistake is having a negative attitude about everything. Those with negative attitudes go nowhere in life. Those who approach life with a positive attitude will always have a measure of a success. It’s about spinning straw into gold. This is a secret that only mature people have learned
@guitarlessonsbyjoe2336 Yes in theory you are correct, however how can you like or have anything positive to say about a company that manipulates the driver, steals tips, deactivates drivers at random and keeps there paycheck, and plays games and decides when you can and cannot work by going with a certain criteria, and sending drivers offers that are twenty miles on way for peanuts. The jokes on you brudda 🤣
Back then wasn’t until people start opening their mouth 💀🤦♀️ say they made 1,500-2000 plus a week 😅 then people jump on it and saw it for they self now it’s hard because the customer started getting that monthly pass to get free food 😅 and some people open more new accounts to get the discount or free food and free delivery to the point they won’t tip the employees no more DoorDash done pretty soon all the employees gone have to start recording that they delivered the customers food 💀😅 and it was closed to protect they self cause some people be lying saying they food been open and they want they money back to cover they self and the customer will get banned for lying that why some people take 2 pictures to cover they self or the driver can report it before they do if they feel something about the customer going to tell but if you have pictures for evidence DoorDash will take have your back because you have proof on it even if you record it you can post it because DoorDash have a link for you to post it if your words are against the customer and you said you record they will tell you I’ll send the link to post the video they will always have your back with proof believe it or not cause a lot of customers be wanting their money back NOW DoorDash is done the minute a lot of people stop working for them people really gone have to get their OWN FOOD or people just going to start doing things to people food for not tipping or do stuff to people drinks but people still order from DoorDash which is scary after the fact people post on social media on the NEWS people eating and drink out people cups and still deliver it and those stickers and tied the bag don’t help neither because you still can open the item it’s NOT SECURE let alone you don’t know if someone have HIV or AIDS or a VIRUS or if people will put something in your CUP still but people out here RISKING they lives out here DoorDash should of been closed down along time ago let alone SUED for stuff like that but people don’t think about these things you better off TRUSTING a FAMILY MEMBER to get your FOOD or go get your OWN FOOD
Put the guilt trip on Drivers more so Doordash seems less responsible for their Own profits, turning off dash time is self inflicted losses. HOW about doordash take more responsibility and stop operating a bllsht system.
Use the algorithm to your advantage let Uber know where you're going to be for as long as possible even if it means doing a three dollar trip and taking a little longer on it
If I wasn’t a platinum Dasher, i’d have to schedule my dashes, no catering orders and no priority order. acceptance rate definitely makes a huge difference! Once you’re there, all you have to do is just maintain it, which is easy. Losing out on good easy money not being platinum. The other day I went out and the first hour was one platinum offer that was literally 1 mile away from the restaurant and then I got hit with a catering order for Panda Express which was 3 miles away. Payout ended up being $136 and it was so easy!

With that setup, I am consistently able to make $200+/ day doing 8-10hrs. Last week, I worked 14hrs straight, made $600 in that shift and $1,600 for the week.

Tablets are too bulky and get in your way. One decent phone is sufficient enough to run 5-8apps at once. And to answer your original question, you can use anything that can access their app.
@@ChickenThug55 I already have one so will it be possible to use it.
@@terrierkeeper yes. You may have a hard time doing DD lol. I already told you that you could use anything, as long as it can download the app and have service, which includes your tablet.
@@ChickenThug55 Thank You.
How’s the market in Vegas ? For DoorDash
The biggest mistake is working for DoorDash 💯😂
No, the biggest mistake is having a negative attitude about everything. Those with negative attitudes go nowhere in life. Those who approach life with a positive attitude will always have a measure of a success. It’s about spinning straw into gold. This is a secret that only mature people have learned
@guitarlessonsbyjoe2336
Yes in theory you are correct, however how can you like or have anything positive to say about a company that manipulates the driver, steals tips, deactivates drivers at random and keeps there paycheck, and plays games and decides when you can and cannot work by going with a certain criteria, and sending drivers offers that are twenty miles on way for peanuts. The jokes on you brudda 🤣
@@bballah9969I don't have any of these issues lol
You’re not wrong, worked for them for a year glad to say today is my last day ✌🏼
epic
Put the guilt trip on Drivers more so Doordash seems less responsible for their Own profits, turning off dash time is self inflicted losses. HOW about doordash take more responsibility and stop operating a bllsht system.
Number 1 Money loosing mistake is Doordash shutting down while crying about AR (accounts receivable) stop the bllsht lies and let customers pay.
Use the algorithm to your advantage let Uber know where you're going to be for as long as possible even if it means doing a three dollar trip and taking a little longer on it
Doordash is like Putin who says he just wants peace and Ukraine shouldnt have any dashtime.
It varies because it depends on the socio economic demographics make all the difference Buckhead vs south Ga is a big difference
Depends on your market. My zone is usually busy so I can pretty much always jump in at anytime. Silver level still gets high priority and catering.
How do you get catering orders because I stink at grocery orders.
@@kentdcurry I know a particular restaurant that does a ton of business lunch catering and I make sure to stay nearby around 11am. Sure enough I'll get one at least once a week.
I do DD as a filler, I’m a silver dasher, careless for the title or AR and I never schedule. I also do Spark FT, Roadie and UE as filler too. With that setup, I am consistently able to make $200+/ day doing 8-10hrs. Last week, I worked 14hrs straight, made $600 in that shift and $1,600 for the week.
WRONG...
Since I have kept my acceptance above 70% I have received so much better offers.
Yeah and some of us have a helluva time trying to get scheduled. So having dash now at my fingertips is worth it.
