Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. The combat was pretty limited, but it really captured the experience of playing a Dragonball Z fight rather well, and it only got better with 2 and 3, with their huge character roster, lets hope Sparking Zero lives up to them two.
@@zenossaki Yeah the video was good, very nostalgic in a way as I've never played Tenkaichi 1 in years, I have a lot of nostalgia for BT2 though, so looking forward to that video : ).

While BT1 was good for its time and a stepping stone for the future, nowadays (at least compared to BT2 and BT3), the game pretty much doesn't age well by comparison
I'd judge it the same way I do the first Budokai. It set the groundwork for greatness but that first step was rough, as someone who played both when they were new. Neither are trash, if you grew up on Ultimate Battle 22 and Final Bout you've seen so much worse, but neither are all that great beyond the fantastic novelty of seeing Dragonball executed in these ways that they brought to the table. In the time they released, with all the hits coming out they didn't have solid enough gameplay to shine in the way their legendary sequels would once the novelty wore off. Though even in that regard, I think BT is a much stronger first step than Budokai was. It felt like a complete package, able to stand up next to Budokai 3 when it was the king, where Budokai's first entry was a lot lighter on content. Budokai 2 and 3 would substantially improve on that first entry in terms of gameplay, where BT's formula was effectively fully formed from the start (apart from in battle transformations) with BT 2 just greatly refining and polishing it, with 3 just tweaking it further. Budokai feels like a proof of concept for its sequels, BT feels like a near release beta build in comparison to its sequels. The sauce is there, just needs a bit more seasoning and time to cook.
Appreciate the interaction Eddie. My apologize if the title is a bit aggressive but that's how I feel about the game and you can agree or disagree.
