The engine mount does not trigger a fault message, but instead it gives strange symptoms that ressemble more like bad injectors, bad valve lifters and pistons.
For me it was a 40€ part.Others went to mechanics that didn’t know how to coreectly diagnose this and before getting to the real Volvo mechanic that solved it,they changed injectors, high pressure fuel pump, egr with no result.
This hidraylic pillow collapses and the engine touched the frame,so hence the knocking. When you dismantle it you will see marks on there. This is located on the right side of the car, simehow under the coolant reservoir. You can also change the one on the top.It the aluminium one that you can see.It is easy to change and cheap. That is the one responsible with the movement of the engine, back and forth.Counterbalance.
Also on the left side of the car there is the one that sits between the chassis and the gearbox. Also hydraulic.Kind of expensive part, tho, but that one does not fail that often.
So,begin by changing the first one in the link that i have sent you.You will thank me later !

Part nr 2
Did it work?
Yes great result, car feels more responsive and gets better MPG :)
Have you replaced the diaphragm on the PCV system? If so, any tips?
why?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks
Hi
Thanks for video
I have XC70 D5 215 engine, so your movies correspond to my car quite well
I have just cleaned mine MAP sensor. its been quite poor, dirty
just silly question. should I get worried if small plastic stick/needle in the middle of the basket, has came off while cleaning. sensor basket were dirty and brake cleaner wasn't enough, so I have used a tooth brush to clean sensor basket and then I have notice, than inside stick/needle has came off, but basket itself is nice and clean now. after 30miles no issues so far, but I'm a bit panicking
thanks for feedback in advance
You'll need a new one, the wire is what takes the reading.
It works! TA
Some brake cleaners (Brakleen) can dissolve plastic.
use egr cleaner
I have an S60 D5 year 2005....I don't think I have one of these on my engine.
Will a c30 D4 have this?
Yes. Exactly the same
good one TKS Volvo
Nice
Mine is ad5 single turbo 185hp, the sensor is in another position ??
Yes, I have taken the cover off mine and it's not where this one is in the video.
Brilliant thanks for that
Hi, can I do the same on a volvo xc60 D4 2015? Thank you.
if it is the five cylinder engine then yes :)
Note: The P3 V70 D5; sensor isn't in this location.
Thanks!! 2003 v70 D5 Same location&proceedure?
Cheers
I'm not sure on older cars!
@@drivelife.channel on l.h. side tube with sensor in top.Cleaned!!
yet to give it a run. tnx
Great news! Enjoy! 😁😁
Put a new air filter in aswell those are cheap enough, the sensor itself is ~40€ here.
If its really nasty the entire intake manifold and EGR Valve needs to be cleaned aswell.
Anyone no where it is on a p2 model as I can not find it as not in same place 2006 d5 facelift
On the side of the Intercooler
I did it, nothing changed
Hey there, great channel. Just made a purchase of my first proper car (s60 se lux d3 2011) and trying to do as much as possible by myself. Probably a retard question... but did you disconnect battery for this job? Many thanks 🙏
Hey hayden, great to to hear you've got yourself a quality motor there! no question is stupid in my opinion! No I didn't disconnect the battery for this job:)
Dude, much obliged 🙏
Stick a snake camera in there you won’t be disappointed 😂
Where is it on a 2004 D5 ?
Believe it’s on the intercooler on one side
Tricky to get to but yes, have a look at the right side of the intercooler. (Right as if you're standing in front of the car). Easy to see, not so easy to get the screw back in. Still worth doing as access is a little bit of a pain and most peeps dont bother.
Hi do you know where the inlet pressure manifold sensor is located on a 2006 volvo d5? Any help would be greatly appreciated
At the output of the intercooler
Any changes ? Acceleration or fuel consumption? My S80 D5 185 HP AWD on board comp. shows about 7.9-8.3l\100km(34.4 - 35.7mpg)
Yes, it seems to pull harder and is returning about 5mpg more!!
Are you friends with Nicholas Knowles now?
Yep best mates! ;)
I would say carb cleaner would be better.
or liquimoly diesel intake decarb
Close calls on camera is on now.
Indeed, I wonder how Roz will do?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
No such thing as 5 minute fix unless you're changing the pine tree air refreshner
things break
Should have got a euro 3 d5 😅
First time owner of volvo. Got d5. Disappointed with that engine noise like fuck me i dont like even putting my foot down especially on take off as the engine noise just makes me feel like there is something wrong with engine even though notting wrong. That noise could be refined. Louder then most other diesel engines out there. Not very relaxing when stuck in traffic listening to that engine rattle. Otherwise good. 👍
I've literally seen no difference to my car in the last four months since I purchased a new one.
I did this today. Sensor was full of slummy black shit. Now is super clean.
Q1: What should happend now? What should change?
Q2: what about inside of the engine block? (Place where put the sensor). I saw lot of shit there. Should I clean it to?
Next time please focus your camera.
THANK YOU!!!!
