Hi, I fitted the kit to my xc 70 d5, 2006, ( euro 4) I took my time, found the kit excellent value, and and profetional, n/b pay special attention to the injector, protection, , and clean up the injector seating ports with, air intake cleaner, and clean rag on a long screw driver, ensuring, injector seats are clean, I have exspireanced, no codes at all, sw/ flap actuator still in place, power is good, economy, is good as well, at the same time I have replaced the turbo actuator ( electronic) as this was not operating as it should and was getting codes stating turbo boost to high, turbo boost to low, the swirl flaps cause a build up of soot, and I feel it will run cleaner, internally without them, p. S prior to placing, swirl flap deletes, clean up the area with, carb cleaner/ engine degrease on a rag, I hope this is of help to any interested party's 🤗👌
Fitted this kit today, good kit has worked for me. my actuator arm broke, my swirlflaps was stuck shut the car felt very restricted would go in limp mode everytime i reached 3k revs, and my mpg was very poor, since using this kit my car feels like a rocket compared to before and my mpg has doubled, i think it depends on what angle ur swirl flaps was stuck at to how much of a improvement this will make for your car but for me where the flaps was fully closed and clogged with years worth of crap it has done wonders for my car. Would deffo recommend
Thank you so much for the amazing review and helpful comments on our video! Certainly very much appreciated! If you wouldn't mind leaving us a Google review we would be very grateful: g.page/r/CUq3bqyGoDaTEB0/review
Matt, this sounds like my problem... I have a 2006 V70 2.4d and the Engine System Service Required message is on... Also the car drives fine but as soon as it hits 3000 revs it seems to get restricted, like a limp mode... Is this what you're describing too? I'm not mechanically inclined but car is booked into garage... I was wondering how much you think I'm gonna be looking at to pay for this Swirl Flap replacement??
I found an interesting article which explains swirl flap removal in-depth, with negatives being listed at the bottom, which you can see there are few: www.yorkshiredpfcentre.com/swirl-flap-removal#:~:text=The%20process%20for%20removing%20the,the%20flaps%20left%20in%20place.
HI, i've got a 2013 XC70 D5... does anyone know about its manifold and swirl flaps? I'm having trouble finding any information. Are the swirl flaps built into mani? thanks
No.. If you leave actuator in place.., if the swirl flaps were to be connected, and in normal opporational condition, there would be no restriction anyhow, the main problem would appear to be, that the throw of the actuator and arm is greater than the travel of the swirl flap connector pivot, resulting in the socket getting worn and the connector rod disengagement, so in my consideration, save any future grief, and fitt a delete kit 😊👌( no code for swirl flap, well not on my euro 4 d5 2006)

So, what is the downside of removing the swirl flaps? There must be reason Volvo engineers put them in in the first place?

Hello...
I have a V70 2.4d from 2006...
Can anyone give me a rough idea of the cost a garage will roughly charge for replacing these Swirl Flaps??
In Europe Volvo repair shops charge around 1200€ for the repair

Yes it is.
@@ernyyulis7163so you can’t remove them then?
@@magee26 you can, there is many videos about swirl flaps, my is 11 plate i will remove them and chip it.
@@magee26 you can remove them.
Will i get error code if i use this kit?
You shouldn't as the rod actuator motor will continue to work as normal.
@@X8RLtdUK
It will give error since the motor will feel absolutely no mechanical resistance whatsoever, thus there will be the broken swirl arm error

@@gheorghinacov6008 it didn't give an error on our vehicle. There's no electronic sensors on the original arm so no warning code.
Is there anyone in Essex who can help do this on my xc90. I am concerned with removing the injectors
What a seriously crap engine.
