Best thing about Warrior's glove is their t hinge design. You don't have to break in the t because it's not connected to the glove with binding lace.

Hi Jacob! Thanks for your question. A wavy palm can be a difficult problem to fix, but you can bring it into your nearest source for sports location to have it looked at. One potential solution is to use a skate oven at one of our stores to loosen up the internals of your glove and adjust how it closes. Good luck!

Hi Kate, thanks for commenting! Try bringing your glove into your local Source For Sports store and asking them to bake it in a skate oven. This should loosen up the glove and allow it to close better.

Thanks for your question regarding proper trapper break in. We definitely offer the service to any goalies regardless of where the trapper is purchased. We also install custom skate lace pockets that generally serve as the best combination with a break in process. But all Source For Sports stores are a little different, so call ahead to your local store to make sure...

Unfortunately sometimes when we store gloves for the off
season they become stiff, and difficult to close.
      This generally happens
because the glove dries out completely.
When the glove completely dries and all the water has evaporated what you are left with is any of the particles
that were in the water that was in the glove materials. for example the
moisture that came from your sweat has loads of salts and oils, and the
moisture that came from the water that was used to make the ice we play on can
have many additives as well. It is very helpful to flush these particles
away and out of the glove using hot water.
What you want to do to accomplish this is:
-open the cuff and hand tighteners on the back of the glove
      completely
-turn your hot water tap on and let it run until it is warm.
-run the hot water from the tap into the hand and finger
stalls of the glove for about a minute.
-this should flush the glove very well and allow you to re
initiate the shape and closure of the glove.
-now your glove is wet, and you need to put it on your hand.
-open and close the glove about 10 times and then hold it
      open.
-if this has done the trick and it feels good again then you
are almost done, if it is not soft enough yet continue to work the glove open
and closed about 50 more times.
-Once the wet glove feels soft enough, jam a puck edge wise
in the palm crease, and clamp the glove closed.
-lay it on a towel and place it in front of a fan to dry for
      about 5 hours.
-Next step is to take it to a local Source for Sports to
place it in a skate oven for 3-5 minutes to warm the internal components to
allow reshaping. (do not exceed 5 minutes)
-place the warm glove on your hand and continue to work the
glove open and closed for about 10 minutes.
      This should do it!

    • @SourceforsportsNation

Thanks for your question Daren! The easiest way is to tie the glove closed using skate laces, this will keep the glove closed without putting too much pressure on any part of the glove.

they look good. a 590 wont look like this eh? only a 600 correct?

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  7 лет назад +1

Thanks for your question! You're correct, a 590 model would look slightly different when broken in and opened fully due to the difference in the break angle. Though the 590 model will still provide a large blocking area and deep pocket when fully broken in. All a matter of personal preference, both great choices!

.......way to break the T. When the pucks going to hit the T. the T is just going to collapse. Than you just going to have skip overs. Happens with the vaughn glove I had....

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  9 лет назад

zoomzoomgt Thank you for the comment. Certainly, there should not be so much force applied that we BREAK the “T”. We only want to soften it, and create a more flexible join at the thumb. In fact there are several pro players that have Vaughn create a “break” in the inner poly piece, so that it will hinge more. The collapsing issue is due more to pushing the center of the “T” inward, and not just flatter. I am pushing the pocket deeper, and not straight down towards the palm. The objective is to have a glove that opens fully, and closes fully.
As the equipment evolves-especially the internal technology and materials-the techniques we use to adjust equipment must also evolve. The foams and plastics that are used today, are quite different in many cases to the materials used even 4 years ago. Injection molding, multi density foams, and stronger polymers are being used far more than standard polyethylene plates that have been heated and pressed into shapes.
The long-standing tradition of goalies helping goalies has created a kind of brotherhood unlike any other sport. Our goalie customers are always the best educated consumers that we get to interact with, and we love that. Information (both correct and incorrect) on tips and techniques are plentiful and easy to access on the Web, and we are always happy to discuss and explain any conflicting information that may be found out there.
