I was wondering why I let in 10+ goals every time that I tried to play goalie...my glove wasn’t broken in.

That's some good advice. I always break in a new glove by throwing it in a forearm training routine.

I personally used a method of taking a dish towel, wetting it down a lot and put in in the microwave for a minute. Carefully grab (it’s really hot) the towel out and put it in the crease and work it open and closed all the way. Repeat until glove is loose. Worked great on CCM axis2.5 where nothing else did. Hope it helps

Trav are you sure the steam won't ruin the glove? Im ordering a custom optic glove and I tried the sink water method last time I had a glove and it ruined the glove and it was soaking wet for a year straight! will this do the same? and also will it be hot enough to break it in good

Hi there. Any tips for a glove that gets dry and crusting on the inside making it hard to close? My son has a warrior glove, approx 1 year old. After games it’s taken out of the bag, hung in mud room and left to dry. We also use “gear halo” inside to minimize stinking. For the past month he has complained that his glove is all stiff and crusty, making it hard to close. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks from a goalie mom

New glove. Use it. Start with practice and work from there. Wear it around the house. A lot of people like to bake it. Get it Uber warm and then put it on but in my experience it just breaks down the material faster. Fine if you’re using the gear for 6 months to a years but sucks for anything longer. If you’re looking to put some seasons in on the gear work it from new and keep it as natural as possible. Drying your gear after every use also will help with wear and breaking. Yes it actually helps the natural materials to work in wet and work it in and dry.

Rubbing alcohol will loosen up the leather without breaking it down. As long as you don't over do it. Mix 1/4 rubbing and 3/4 water.

    Hey guys,
If you do want to bake your glove at home:
    -Set oven to 175F
    -Open the glove up
-Place glove on middle rack, palm face down
    -Bake for 8-10 minutes
Everything should be moldable, you can even fix a bad break by baking the glove.

Well, I have a process that is really quite precise
A sort of secret method known to very few
So, if you're in the market for professional advice
Well today could be a lucky day for you
    shaving cream
You rub that in for about five minutes, tie it all up with rubber bands, put it under your mattress, and sleep on it. And you do that for at least a week, every day, consistent.
And though this method isn't easy
Every second that you spend is gonna pay off
It'll pay off in the end
