Lots of vertical gardens now. So you are right Jael, space should not be an issue. I live in the suburbs not quite rural, but thank God I am not in the city. Before retiring I woke at 4:15am to be at work by 6:30am and did not return home most evenings until near 6pm. Believe me I do not miss work nor the commute.
I agree with you city life drain you up. You even Afriaid to open the post box because is always bills . Expetially here in Europe being a single person its better when you share the bills. Your pay check its finished before you even pay all your debts and send money home.
You are living my dream life. Hope to be there in a few years. What have you mixed in the water for the chicken, looks like some type of vegetable. When I was young my mother used to put fresh chilis in water for the chicken, she said it was therapeutic and the chicken seemed to enjoy it.
Sometimes being in your own place is good. You grow your stuff food etc see them grow from seedlings to maturity and also have a bunch of activities in your compound

Check roadside garden centres. They're everywhere. In kisumu, check somewhere near the airport and Milimani area. In Nairobi, Ngong road is the place. I am a random flower collector.
