- Yes I know jets in Battlefield haven't really had decent physics or mechanics since the reboot onto the Frostbite engine but this seems a bit excessive. Are players no longer supposed to learn how to handle the vehicles in the game, learn to fly, etc.? Or is there now an expectation that vehicles are more difficult so they should be given more leeway?
Yeah the title is bait, I know this has been an issue for a long time ( BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV ) where jets or planes can simply bounce off objects and trees with no repercussions. But it would be nice if they did something about them at some point so players were actually punished for greedy or dumb actions.

I was once deliberately crashed a jet into a building for scientific purpose. I bounced off of it and survived with 50% HP. Like, okay?
And sometimes your wing slightly touches a tree branch and you blow up instantly.

I had no idea jets / Helis were so resilient in this game, almost rubberised the way they bounce off of everything. I wish that were the case back in BF3 where we had rubber trees but the slightest contact with a building would usually end in insta-death. I do not miss those deadly OHK lampposts 😂

For the stealth helicopters you can use Rao ability to get them out of there stealth mode so you can have someone using the AA missile launcher to take them

It’s gameplay like this that makes me hate BF since 3.
The #1 most dangerous outcome for a military pilot is hitting the ground / tree / buildings. The pilot can survive getting gunned down or hit by a missile, but hitting something solid is a 100% death rate if you haven’t ejected. Not saying it has to be like that in game, but rewarding pilots who don’t/can’t avoid the ground is silly.
Also, jet pilots being taken out by snipers is silly and only happens because jets are flying around at 1/5th the speed they actually fly at. Similarly, jets should be eating helis for lunch, never the other way around. Helis should especially never be able to get a gun solution on a jet.

@@BaNgInHeAdS it’s a spectrum and BF does try to slide into realism more than Call of Duty. It dares to add vehicles to flesh out battles so all I’m saying is that even in its arcade-y format, it’s pretty silly. And for many, the strays away from realism are not fun because they are downright silly. BF doesn’t need to become Arma, but it’s choices with vehicle play after BF:BC2 are terribly distracting.
A pilot’s value in a theater of war isn’t their twitch aim and flight stick skills. It’s his/her knowledge and usage deployment of the machine. They know how to stay alive in that machine, and reliably attack or defend positions other soldiers or vehicles cannot.

As far as the game is concerned? Helos shouldn't be shooting planes down like they do.

It isn't. Unlike BC2, BF3, or BF4 the windows on vehicles in BF2042 have damage reduction to bullets.

Railgun doesn’t get the boost that the recon class offers for snipers is frustrating. Also why call it utility just add a shotgun category and add crossbows with snipers screw it.
Yeah it does say the weapon proficiency for the Recon class is specific to Sniper Rifles. I guess they were worried it might include too many weapons if they said any weapon with a 6x scope or higher.

It's like the devs just said F it and gave BF2042 weapons that are as broken as the game itself, each video I'm more and more dumbfounded with what you're able to do.
Ravic was doing this with the GVT, which is a lever-action with terrible velocity.
Honestly, the rail-gun is so niche in use now. The only real purpose is to try and kill people out of air-craft that are too fast moving for regular bullets to remotely hit the lagging hitboxes.
In this bf jets are so easy to destroy with helis, snipers, c4, etc. All because of the trash physics and their slow speed.

Im not new to the BF series but can somebody explain to me HOW AND WHY they keep f*cking up with the vehicle balance across multiple titles. Arent they playing their own game or are they simply not interestd ?
It's a bit of both and sometimes a mixed bag of sorts. There was obvious favoritism for certain vehicles in some of the recent Battlefield titles but also a lot of hand holding design to make it easier for players to handle. Add to that new leads/management and you get the chaos we currently experience in BF2042.
@@Ravic Thx for the reply, didnt knew this. I've seen in other games what this favoring of certain gameplay styles by the devs(e.g. Helis / Jets) can do to a game... Its honestly just depressing to which extend they managed to let it escelate.
@@florianwirtz7511 The mobile AA in BF3 aka the Anti-Anything vehicle became even stronger in BF4 and then turned into something absurd in BF1, that was Demize99's creation and he kept making it more and more unbalanced.

Amazing skill, but that gun is broken so much that hurts the game. Nothing like doing headshots to pilots with a regular sniper.
Considering how broken the hitboxes are in vehicles ( ruclips.net/video/SZAqpMo1pd0/видео.html ) and DICE not addressing the issue or the unbalance all the things related to it creates, this weapon is hardly broken in comparison. Unless you also feel that aircraft and helicopter's maneuverability and speed is too high to the point that the game engine can't keep up. They fly like spaceships with no penalty for looking straight down and firing, they have damage reduction to windows to make AP rounds warranted to DICE but no one will ever run AP rounds on their weapons because they have too many negatives.
@@Ravic Yes sadly the hitboxes were affected in the lasts updates, I think my complaint goes more about the range of the railgun when you face it with a sniper, I think limit it at 200mts, but keeping damage as it's now could be a solution.
@@davepianist84 No point in reducing the muzzle velocity for that reason, the ROF is so slow now on the railgun that the bolt-actions win 1v1 against the railgun at range even if they are all body shots.
@@Ravic Ah no I didn't mean the speed at all, just make it so last that range the laser doesn't reach or has halved damage
@@davepianist84 Again, no point in doing so the crossbow already fits that the category of meme weapon that can't be used beyond a short distance. Also the railguns damage drops of more and sooner than the bolt-actions so not really seeing a point to reducing the damage even further since again the bolt-actions already beat it at those longer ranges even with body shots.
Imagine if the railgun took any skill to use.
Vehicles now are so weak. Everything in this game can kill them after patch. Totally unbalanced again and now infatry its so Op vs them, dice just has not the knowledge and the talent how to make a balance game like bf3 and 4 was.
Maybe there was some semblance of balance when the SRAW wasn't nerfed in BF4 but outside of that there wasn't much balance.

Literally my experience in 2042 post-patch has been the opposite, since APS is now available to tanks and tankers in my region have long since realised that Irish is the best tanker because of his APS.
@@Slenderneer have you played with heli? If yes then I'm sure you know what I mean . But yes when tank cooperating with Irish is broken to. Aerial vehicles are so dead now.
@@Azrael_wings I haven't touched helis since the patch, but I've played against them.
They are still just as busted as beforehand; likely more so given that the railgun is no real threat to them and they have a lot less launchers on the map to deal with.
