- Jets are in a really weird spot right now. On one hand, the 25mm cannon is one of the most deadly weapons in the game. Unfortunately though, the physics present a constant battle against the jet, but if you win that battle, the results are worth it.

I mean it's 2042 so I like to imagine they made some kind of breakthrough for that kind of thing.
I never realized the 25mm gun is so accurate. I’ve always used the 30mm which can’t hit the broadside of a barn. Definitely want to see more jet gameplay
I use 25 for hitting infantry, and focusing air more. The 30mm you have to burst a lot for its accuracy but i use that for a tank busting. If i feel like doing both 25 with agms. However as silk said. The agms just dont seem to like to lock onto who you want it to. Doesn't help it does or doesn't tell you there is a enemy in said vehicle. It just locks everything yellow. Bf4 white = no enemies in it or red if there was
@@zinoneus3733why it doesn’t prioritize enemies probably has something to do with why it doesn’t tell us the difference… my best bet is they couldn’t code it without breaking the game
The 25 basically makes up for all of the damage decrease because you can start shooting a long time before you would with the 30

@@zinoneus3733 I just use the radar missiles, they do just as much damage as the ATGMs but don't need the lock-on and can be dumb-fired from further than the ATGM can lock-on from. It's annoying when they go after a Caspar drone instead of the intended target, but they reload quickly enough I can often get 3 or 4 rockets out between bursts of 30mm fire during a strafe before having to pull out if I start from maximum range. The most annoying thing is keeping track of which missile fires next so you use the correct offset, but they're otherwise easier to use than the main gun.
Seeing the helis get destroyed is heart warming they are so OP

Helis need to be good. THEY ARE GODDAMN HELIS
just lock them everytime they show up. Even if you don't hit them, you will make the pilot mad, because he will have to flare and hide before flare to comes back up. Spam it everytime and he will have like 5 sec window to kill someone before hiding again. This is what makes heli pilots mad

As a very good infantry player I do appreciate air supports from jet , especially when they fly over you , makes you feel better cause it makes you know they have your back and taking everything out.

Silk, for dogfighting you have to hold down the afterburners 90% of the time, otherwise your turning speed will be abysmal as you will be flying below 280 mphs. Hold it down so you can keep speed between 313 (no longer optimal) and 330.

@@SilkOCE also, on this game binding the auto cannon to the brake pedal key (S) is a good idea. Helps with strafing on third person view.

@@SilkOCE i believe gemini does it and it works for him. I bound my fire cannon to the brake pedal and it doesnt hurt dogfighting. Need to test more but no decent pilots on the current air superiority mode. Gemini is also posting on this video so I think he should know more about fire and brake combination.

You should try squading up with people then They tracer dart enemy chokepoints so you can bomb infantry with AGM's like actual air support would be cool

Haven’t played bf in a while but I have always loved the idea of calling in a bombing run and having a actually playing pilot coming in and laying down a close air support
I remember playing 2142 and having a 64 player titian scrim with 4 clans involved.
I was one of 2 gunship pilots so I was a squad leader with my gunner. It was amazing, as we had people following the commanders orders.
Having the commander report positions of walkers and tanks while at the same time giving commands to squads that had transports to take position and others to hold, lots of fights.

I watched the whole video!! I’m ok with the jet with controller but getting the angles are hit and miss for me now I understand the type of people getting me are this kind of guy lol
The 2v2 jets in bf3 conquest was peak imo. If they had 2 stealth/fighter jets and 1 attack/strike jet in conquest large per team in 2042, that'd be lit as fuck. Fighter jets are force multipliers, open up a new area of the battlefield, create new strategic opportunities, and are an awesome way to make the battlefield feel bigger than it actually is. A core memory of mine is calling in CAS from my brother in an A10 on Paracel in BF4 and my other friend distracting the hostile jets and AA LAV in his f35. Jets in 2042 have too small of an AO and are underutilized in the sandbox. This video is amazing at pointing out their uses, but Dice needs to double down on jet gameplay.

Battlefield 3 flying physics felt spot on to me and the helicopters our they can’t replicate that is beyond me
A bit that may help with strafing. Try to angle and create a line when you shoot, no more than 5 seconds maybe 3 seconds if you have to cut to dodge a incoming Missile.
I used to do that with the F/A-18 on Caspian Border to push or flush enemies. It wasn't so much to secure the kills on the ground but to make it so my team can push in with air support.
Taking out as you said the opposing Air and if possible Ground vehicles were my main targets. BF3/4 dogfights were just intense and most of the time it was just 2 v 2 in the sky because you were facing a similar air ace.
I enjoyed doing CAS support when I was able to, but what made me enjoy fighter pilots the most was when I would roll tank. Nothing says aggressive push when You can roll in a tank without worrying for Helos to ruin your day.
Great jet play! I miss dumbfire weapons on jets, and camera missiles on helis. They added a much higher skill ceiling/gap that is desperately needed in this game that tends to reward sitting around and spamming lock-ons across the map from spawn, etc.. Really frustrating and obnoxious playstyles rewarded in this Battlefield.
An attack heli having stealth mode and jets not having them is peak game design

ive been having a really good time playing deticated AA in jets, running radar missles, and on maps with lots of cover, i can stay low ducking around terrain then appear out of nowhere behind enemy jets or helis, get super close then pop the missles off so they dont have time to shoot their flares, works super well for me, on the S4 map its especially effective, as that deep valley on the right side of the US side helps with breaking locks and getting behind the RU aircraft spawn, you probably dont get nearly as many kills as if you were doing some other strategies but it feels good to help my team by taking care of little birds and other jets and whatnot
Silk,I'll point to you the 3 major problems with jets real quick,it's not even hard for DICE to fix
1 - Insane bullet spread for 30mm and a little for 25mm(making a lot of your shots just miss and less efficient per dive).
2 - A and D for jet are very slow compared to BF4,making the manuverability too slow(when you need to keep up with a fast target moving horizontally) .
3 - No manual weapons like a bomb,hydra rockets.
The afterburner on the jet really needs to have a limited use and recharge mechanic IMO. A genuinely skilled Jet pilot is essentially unkillable, they lock on lightning fast, outrun heli and stringer missile locks, outrun hacks, do insane amounts of damage with their main guns. Wildcats can obviously get missiles on them but they're only ever going to deplete flares, it's not like they can chase them down.
So far the only way I've reliably been able to kill jets is by either shooting them with anti-tank rockets when they come to shoot a missile, or they mistakenly fly towards the edge of the map and are forced to turn around so I can deplete their flares and get another missile out before they fly away. So basically get lucky with the rocket spread or hope they make a mistake.
Can someone tell me what the 3rd person zoom toggle is called in the options menu and what the default keybind is for it??
I figure it’s probably right click but I have that set to rearview toggle

When I switch to 3rd person zoom the mouse is way too sensitive- I’ve tried turning it down but can’t find where to do it…. I just have a multiple dpi settings on my mouse I switch to, to lower it when I’m shooting at infantry.

I've been slaying with the 25mm for months and im amazed not more people use planes! They're the best counter against transports and helis (somewhat except the nightbird)

I just wish the AGMs weren't so weak. Or at least lower the AA tank's health to be killed by 2 AGMs. If that tank has a repair guy or the driver is an engineer, you cant really kill it at all cause of the slow reload vs repair speed. Which sucks cause on smaller maps like Flashpoint, Wildcat's 30mm and AA missile can reach you from their spawn, so unless you have a teammate spawncamping them, you're SOL
Also 4:39 - jets do have under the radar, but its not very effective, you need to be at a constant

Respect for not using the free fire heat seekers. I swear choppers have no chance against any pilot using those when they fly over and drop those rockets on peoples heads. You stick to the guns mainly like a real distinguished gentleman.
You've just earned a new sub after stumbling across your Gemini exposing vid I had to check ya out the jet is my favorite part of bf2042 I'd say I pretty good I dominate mediocre flyers but am at a wall when it comes to experienced jet fliers, what would be a good recommendation for taking my jet flying to the next level?
I got on bf 2042 after having not played for a while, and I noticed that for some reason I have no mouse input when aiming w/ cannon on jets. I've tried looking through a bunch of settings but I don't know why I can no longer mouse aim when zoomed in whilst flying. Is there any reason for this? Great vid btw.

However, watching your vids over time got me in a pretty good place with jets and helis and I feel in a good place with them over the games. I can go a full game without killed In jets and a lot of that is watching vids you've done, tho id say im bang average. Most of that is down to learning from your content. Is there a way to reduce keyboard yaw sensitivity? Whenever I do a strafe and I'm trying to aim onto a soldier, often I need to make minor adjustments on the horizontal access, but I find it often bounces me too far left and too far right of a soldier even when just tapping A and D. Or should I use the mouse to make final aim adjustments? Though that leads to a roll on the mouse horizontal.

Do you use the keyboard for rudder? I can’t get smooth with it, even minor taps of rudder keys throws off my aim. Your flying is super smooth.
This was amusing to watch. Could you share your key bind and sensitivity setup? I want to get good at jets but this games engine makes it very frustrating to learn.
What control scheme are you using? I use rifle aim to have godlike precision on Nightbird. But I find it is impossible to fly a jet with that control scheme. I'm actually hoping that part of the jet rework is seperate keybinds for jets and heli's.

yknow, I watched this video and its what got me into the jets in battlefield. Watched a bunch of guides and stuff like that, then one day it just clicked. I was able to fly it and win pratically all of my 1 on 1 dogfights and kill infantry and vehicles. W.

Man I wish they would add the JDam missile . Im not a jet player but that would be nice for the pilots imo. They need to nerf some of those stupid weapons on the transport heli and the LATV4 and emkv90. The slash damage is so stupid

I can't fly for shi7 but I like testing it when it's available, choppers or jets. I'm better on choppers but nothing compared to how others get nonstop kills. For that reason, I only play to kill jets and choppers with Lis tgm.

If you want a set of rockets that will fire at air and ground go for the third rocket choice they automatically lock on to enemy aircraft and you can fire freely at ground targets
