When you told them spotting the LAV makes a big difference for you... Same for me. It's just easier to be able to snap to the target with it marked to get the most damage possible, without having to look for it and then mark it to strafe it lol. Sounds like you had fun with your scrim. Is this your first one or have you done other ones?

There's a few reasons. Some maps have positional advantages that are offset by the faction. In the event of a vehicle steal there's also no way to identify which one is which.
there will be cheaters soon enough. And that means the game drops in value. Its just not possible to try to play infantry, only to spot enemy in front of you and getting red screen after 0,05-0,1s consistently, iron sights no matter. Seems to me lots of people actually do use cheats, but not that many utilize all the layers of cheat programs. But EA wishes people online, so the dont care that people who dont cheat get abused. Sometimes I wondered if Im so unskilled or if it is the netcode or something, but no. Some people have problems seeing me, some do not. And those who do not usually wipe me in quick succession. I tried bf 1 1 year into the game and I somehow didnt understand that cheating was a thing. I at first thought those people are so skilled, or that I could possibly be rusty. On some servers its ok, but on most/majority, like metro/locker, seems to me like 1/3 of players are cheaters. They dont use aimbots to take out large numbers in quick succession, there are less obvious ways to cheat. Considering how plagued frostbite games are without battlerecorder, online-only no coop doesnt seem viable. Normally people need to see you, air and fire, but no, these come off guns blazing knowing where you are. You go from off a corner and they know where you are. It is simply not fun. It is like shooting happened on the server side and you are informed you were taken out. If there was no ping or strange netcode, you would need some serious reflexes to pull that off. But the consistency and ease and speed is simply unnatural. I know that there are some people who are really trained like they earned their living from playing and considering that Im actually pretty good, it isnt taken lightly by me that I fill up some cheaters k/d. Sometimes you dont meet cheaters but if there was LAN/coop on conquest offline, all unlocks no grind, things could have been better off. Local server. EA seems not interested in keeping cheating off, - I dont like the style 2042 is taking. DICE/EA does not mention bf 42,V, bf2 , 2142 as true bf games or their veterans as existing. Clear discrimination, that you should be ashamed if you played old superior games with better features.
Great flying tho its a shame that the jdam bombs are useless short of a direct hit.... its one of the reasons i prefer playing CAS in BF2 Project Reality as the 2000 lb jdam bombs in that mod are actual bombs with a lethal blast radius as opppsed to the one on BF4 which might as well be a dam Michel bay firecracker by comparison and is pathetic imho.

This is my second time flying attack jet in a scrim :D for me I'm a big map player so if it's spotted it can't really move from cover

Yeah they're some of the best in the game. We actually have very even ping to them when we play on LA servers so it works well!

He was very challenging to kill. That dogfight that I used for the opening lasted about 5 minutes and neither of us died in the end

Sweaty gameplay, if he overextended too much he could be taken out. These are all high skill players, there is a lot of cat and mouse going on.
Yeah if you strafe for too long odds are you'll get SRAW'd. I did extend for a few strafes but only when my team really needed it most
