  • There’s a whole family of 60-ton killing machines in the water, and only one bald-headed hero who can stop them. When you’re planning your next vacation, do yourself a favor first, and make sure that wherever you’re going, it’s on the other side of the planet from Jonas Taylor and his group of goldfish-brained friends.
    Thank you for watching MEG 2: THE TRENCH explained and review of how to beat.

    one of the most unrealistic thing in the movie has to be when Jason fills his sinuses with water to “equalise the pressure”, he would have to fill up every single airway in his body including all of his lungs which gives irreversible damage and death, and his digestive system has to be filled as well.

      yeah, to visualize the pressure at that depth, you can try to imagine one of these options being dropped straight on your body:
      1. 400 Midsized cars
      2. 100 Adult elephants
      3. 66 Panzer 1 tanks
      4. 24 Panzer 4 tanks
      5. 3 "Maus" tanks
      or..

      Raised in captivity their instincts may have been suppressed to the point of non-function when put in a natural setting (this happens with other animals too, they become dysfunctional if raised without being taught how to hunt/gather, etc, although not all animals) but a 40+ ton shark in the open-ocean would probably wreak some havoc on the wildlife before dying of malnutrition due to not being able to fulfill its food requirements.

    Also got to love every single creature there having fully functioning eyes in near total darkness

    • @JujuBennie
      @JujuBennie 9 месяцев назад

      That is true. Chlorophyll from a chloroplast in a plant’s leaves makes it green from absorbing sunlight, and thousands of feet below sea level means that the sunlight has managed to dive through the darkness just enough to make the plants green or someone has been shining an extremely powerful flashlight at the plants for a long time.

    • @kenaworthen6864
      @kenaworthen6864 11 месяцев назад +9

      Not necessarily. Orcas are much larger than seals, yet eat them very happily. Making the right (wrong) movement in the water could absolutely alert a giant predator to you, and they may mistake you for food. It happens with smaller sharks. Whales eat krill. Something being small doesn't mean something big won't eat it

    • @lozm4835
      @lozm4835 11 месяцев назад +23

      @@kenaworthen6864 It's not a factor of how much bigger an animal is, (cats and mice are another great example of a predator eating much smaller prey) but rather how big the predator itself is. Larger creatures are more energy-efficient when at rest, but burn much more energy when exerting themselves. As such, large predators tend to be feast-and-famine hunters, compared to smaller ones that must eat constantly. An extremely large predator like a Megaladon would probably only hunt whales or very very large populations of creatures that aren't moving, and consume as much as possible since it'll be a long time before it can eat again. A Meg wouldn't chase tiny prey unless it was desperate, and it certainly wouldn't do things like crash through rock or risk injury to do so.

    6:31 Why have service tunnels large enough for the Meg to swim through? A bunch of small ones scattered across the walls would serve just as well. Hell, at least have more than one grate in the tunnel, so the shark will at worst be delay enough for someone to notice a 50 ton behemoth is suddenly missing.

    What would have made 36:36 cooler IMO is if after being impaled the scene makes it look like the bloke was eaten, only for the shark to slide off the rocks dead and reveal that he is still alive.

    I mean, the fact you waited this long to throw physics out is amazing since those sharks couldn't have risen that far to the surface anyways. The difference in pressure alone would be enough to kill them. Have you seen what happens to creatures from crushing depths when they're brought to the surface for study? XD

    • @barneyassman
      @barneyassman 10 месяцев назад

      they are still whales nonetheless. and also humans are great at running so the meg would also probably expend a lot of energy for such a small creature. I heard sharks are smart so they probably wouldn't go for food that isn't worth the chase.@@peabrain6872

    They are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY over 16 pounds per square inch of water pressure.
    Water pressure increases by 1 atmosphere per 33 feet of depth.
    One atmosphere of pressure is 14.7 pounds per square inch.
    The Mariana trench( THE Trench of the movie) is a depth of 36,037 feet.
    That is 1092 atmospheres or 16,052 pounds ( 8 tons+) per square inch.
    And that is the real world trench. The trench in the movie is supposed to be significantly deeper.
