The funny thing about "The Meg" is how, in reality, even without the obvious ability to debunk the existence of a Megalodon today, the submarine at the bottom of a trench would have imploded the second the monster wrecked the hull of the submarine enough to allow water to get in. It would have undergone a decompression and implosion like the Titan Sub and everyone would have died. Statham included.
Or maybe just send unmanned drones instead of a house-sized with multiple people send an unmanned robot sub for a fraction of the price like we've been doing for decades!
Send a drone with a camera to take pictures of the MEG, send the pics as well with audio and video recording with data as evidence to show the government the MEG is real and a threat, tell the bay that multiple sharks have been reported to get the people out of the water, lure the meg with whale songs to the shallow sea area to where multiple military navel ships wait as well the subs with makeshift torpedo's, Trap the Meg then let the MEG have it
I love how no one notices this huge mistake in the movie: In the beginning of the movie Jonas and the undersea team that he is rescuing are assumed to be attacked by the Meg (we never actually saw it but Jonas claims that it was), however we learn later on in the movie, that the crew (including Jonas’s ex wife) will be the first people ever to go below the surface floor. Yet we are told that the Meg can not go above this floor because of its freezing temperature. Therefore what attacked Jonas couldn’t possibly have been the Meg as no one had gone below the surface floor yet and raised the temperature, which means the Meg had no way to get to the ship that Jonas was in at the beginning of the movie. There’s no way there could have been a previous Meg above the surface floor as it would have caused havoc already and definitely have been detected. I don’t know if this was intentional, but I mean the entire plot was kinda based on that one event because it was almost an ‘I KNEW IT’ event for Jonas.

As someone who knows some basic things about sharks I find this movie hilarious because yeah a shark wants to bit into a hunk of metal that’s realistic like the shark gets nothing from attacking them, humans don’t have nearly enough fat for them to be a viable food source for sharks

In the books it's explained that it keeps attacking the boats as a territorial thing not a food thing but true most movies do the exact opposite of real world animals lol
Yeah, like at some point it would be fine to swim with the meg in the water, just like how some small fish swim right into shark mouths at coral reefs, or remora fish latch onto sharks. You'd be just too small to be viewed as food by something that hunts whales. A tiger isn't going to bother chasing after a mouse.
So for the humans that got swallowed whole, they most likely had a half minute or more being alive in pitch dark burning from the stomach acid before they suffocated
In the book any person who got eaten whole was either crushed by the teeth in the back or their bodies hit the roof of the mouth and was torn apart by the force. Jonas was the only one who went into its stomach and didn't die.
I would wait for it to die soon after all on it's own, simply because after the meg has lived for generations at huge depths and having adapted to the huge pressure down there, it would likely no longer be able to live further up with lower pressure.
That’s not how that works. The Meg could slowly ease its way up through the elevation and pressure change just like most mammals and humans can themselves
@@acecun6202they arent referring to elevation change, they are referring to pressure. Have you ever seen a blobfish when its on land? The orca idea was absolutely hilarious and would definitely have been interesting to see, but unfortunately orcas swim in freezing cold waters and are native to places like Alaska and Norway, quite far from where our hero’s are, so they would either have to lead a pod of orcas to the Meg or lead the Meg half way across the ocean to get it to orcas, which most likely wouldn’t work due to the change in water temperature, currents, the length of the journey etc, although I would pay to see a Meg 2 where a group of orcas takes down a megaladon
Actually, orcas lives everywhere, they also becoming different species between each other because of their diet and hunting techniques. For example some of the ones who lives in open ocean knows how to hunt whales. So they could found orcas nearby

I literally just searched for something to watch for 10mins+ and then I remembered ur channel! I came across this vid and was so happy because it’s one of my favorite movies. Excited to watch!
Wait so if you covered the sub in a layer of vanta black and its hydrophobic would the sub sink? Because the sub wouldn't be able to touch the water so would it just fall straight down?
It would sink faster, but it also might float to limit contact with the water. Quoting u/rs6866, "Hydrophobic coatings are not my specialty, but I do know a lot about fluid mechanics. After a bit of searching, the answer appears to be yes. Coating something with a hydrophobic coating should cause it to sink faster. My reasoning comes from this source which shows that hydrophobic coatings eliminate the no-slip condition on solid boundary walls. Normally on the wall of a solid boundary, the fluid velocity must be zero. This causes more viscous (skin friction) drag, and allows for boundary layer separation (which causes pressure drag on a solid object). With a hydrophobic coating, it appears like at the wall there was 10% free stream velocity... so although the water slows down a lot, it doesn't come to a complete stop at the wall. This would reduce the size of the separation bubble, if one exists for the object in question, and hence its pressure drag. It would also reduce skin-friction drag. Lower drag would result in a higher terminal velocity, as a faster velocity could be achieved with a constant force (gravity)."
they actually did pretty good for a movie in the actual killing part like the only bad thing i can think of is when they called in those guys to shoot the meg because real life that would have done nothing
A few well placed shots would have killed it. Certain bullets are designed to bounce around inside the body effectively shredding the internal organs causing it to bleed out. Or they could simply use a 50 cal and blow chunks out of its body also causing it to bleed out if not outright kill it
if the sub is leaking something into the ocean, how is it not being ripped apart by the pressure that has to be down there? also i don´t think the movie ever explained how they managed to build subs that can go down so far

Regular sharks fear orcas. I don't think Meg would have reason to, considering other sharks and even giant squids fear Meg. For reference, Sperm whales, who are even bigger than orcas, regularly fight Giant Squids and the squids win a good amount of times. That's how scary meg is.
Giant squids are dwarved by the Meg but the Meg is not as big as a sperm whale nothing has every been bigger than the sperm whale and size goes by weight and the sperm whale weighs 96 tons

I’ve been wanting how to beat to do how to beat jaws,it would be really cool, but there are other movies he has to do,he just doesn’t have enough time to do jaws. This is the closest I’ll get to jaws.
Sounds like you really like Jaws
I literally just searched for something to watch for 10mins+ and then I remembered ur channel! I came across this vid and was so happy because it’s one of my favorite movies. Excited to watch!
It’s fun how every video finds a way to put in a “just sacrifice someone” solution.
Can’t wait for the sequel
thank you for censoring disturbing stuff, i have a weak stomach, and i hate the ocean but wow this is great
Who isn't even watching this to figure out to beat these creatures only for entertainment
This is one of my favorite movies, and this video is uploaded on my birthday
FINALLY U DID THE MEG!
THANK YOU!
Love these videos 💓
I love the fact that we learn something
This is my favorite movie I can’t wait for the second movie to come out in august I’ve been waiting for 5 years
Go get the novel then

THANK YOU CAPTAIN HIND-SIGHT. We couldn't have done it without you.
@@bonk3 Ohhh that makes sense, thank you for explaining it in detail.
@@bonk3damn bro learned something new
they actually did pretty good for a movie in the actual killing part like the only bad thing i can think of is when they called in those guys to shoot the meg because real life that would have done nothing
A few well placed shots would have killed it. Certain bullets are designed to bounce around inside the body effectively shredding the internal organs causing it to bleed out. Or they could simply use a 50 cal and blow chunks out of its body also causing it to bleed out if not outright kill it
it defintally would. the meg is just a shark, not a invincible regaining shark like you would see in the scp foundation
They also address this in the movie when they're all like wtf guns? And Rainn Wilson's character says it was all he could get on the fly or some shit
several 50 cal. to its eyes wouldve crippled it,maybe even kill it.
Why does the fish at 13:25 have the cartoon villain expression
Lol
if the sub is leaking something into the ocean, how is it not being ripped apart by the pressure that has to be down there? also i don´t think the movie ever explained how they managed to build subs that can go down so far
bro what is with that laugh gahdayum that boah musta been on some tuff shit i tell you what🤣🤣🤣( 0:22 )
Could you do "How to beat Annie Wilkes in 'Misery'?
I could easily defeat a meg in a 1v1. I’ll just run away while waiting for it to die of suffocation.
Can you do meg 2?
New vid i just watchedd the pool one with crocadile and also morise you fu**d up 😂
That one baby whale and their mother was so sad- gone too soon 😭
Best Vid Yet, You Should Do HOW TO BEAT THE DEATHS IN JURASSIC PARK
Heres how
One: dont get close to the dino cage
Two: nobody move a muscle
Three: dont hunt the clever girls
Four: dont go fix the power alone without a gun
Five: dont tease the dinosaurs
Bounus dinosaur deaths:
One: dont be near an apex preditor
Two: dont let kids trick you into a freezer
Three: yeah your screwd
Four: DONT ATACK AN APEX PREDITOR
And thats it

Peter: "Shut up Meg"
This is just a modified Subnautica, and I love it
You could have made this whole video in about 10 seconds. "How To Beat The PREHISTORIC SHARK In "The Meg" - "Don't go in the ocean". Done
Day 2 of saying: “you should do a collab with dead meat, dead meat can count the kills, and how to beat can explain what they could’ve done to avoid the death”
Meg isnt scary, well not compared to a mosasaur or dunkleosteus, for reference meg is 3 meters dunkleo 9 and mosa 15 meters in length
@@NunyaBizzniz-ev1qq lmao there are multiple animals bigger than the sperm whale.
@@BobTheAnimeDude I said size goes by weight not length
@@BobTheAnimeDude I also meant blue whales
3 people almost died just because of the lack of railings. Just install railings and gates! PS. DO A VIDEO ON JURASSIC PARK (if you haven´t already, in which case please reply with a link to it.)
Is this what happened to the rich people in the sub?
underrated comment
They did find debris of the submersible scattered on the bottom
YOUR PATREON IS AWSOME!!!
also Megalodons were not deep sea sharks, they were near shallow waters they could not survive being in the depths of the ocean
Neither were they the largest or scariest sea creature *looks at mosasaur and dunkleosteus as example*
@@tipips dunkleosteus were way smaller than megalodons
@@tipips both were smaller
Toss a moon sized toaster into the depths of the sea.
I don’t care what you guys think. This was an actual good Shark movie

Not as good as Sharknado tho
that was probably the coolest ad for someones patreon
Get Jeremy wade from river monsters. All he need is a simple fishing pole
20:42 I burst out laughing, props to that joke
Call upon Aquaman
U know ur doomed when ur stuck underwater and jason statham comes to rescue
I wonder if a meg was at fault for the titan incident 👀
Megs are extinct, the reason they died was from implosion
If we ignore the fact a meg was a shallow water shark and its impossible for them to live in deep water and we ignore the fact megalodon would need too much food to survive these days, and ignore the fact of how badly the submarine was built, maybe
@@tipips ignore all of that😉 it was def the Meg lol
bro saved my ngl bc everything was boring on yt I just needed this
The wise choice is to try to kill the meg for food. It's huge! You could eat for months!
Think of how high the mercury levels would be😂😂 you’d have to sneak by the FDA
