  • Do you ever find yourself confused as to what chord someone is playing when seeing their fingers on the fretboard? This little tip can help remedy that.
When I initially learned the "CAGED system" years and years ago, it was easy to get this information, say "cool", and move on. I didn't realize that I learned the base infrastructure to a bigger thing. Once I was able to tie in all the extras on top of this infrastructure, things grew very quickly.
Here is a video (geared towards those beginning to learn CAGED) of what helped me build off of the CAGED infrastructure. I feel this is important information: How to identify each chord in a caged shape, no matter where you are on the fretboard. This sounds easy enough, and it is, the hardest part is the memorization of all the notes on the fretboard, which does take time, but there are tricks on how to do that too!
