That was literally THE most helpful video I've ever watched on the guitar. The way so many others try to explain what you just explained, was like taking a lesson on quantum physics & how quantum entanglement works. You simplified it down in such a way that I think anyone could understand. You literally just unlocked the fretboard in my mind for the first time ever. It's so clear now I feel stupid for having never known it. I've always just played by ear. Definitely subscribing!

Amazing, I've been playing guitar for years casually, looked at this sort of thing before and goes over my head figured it would take years of music theory to understand every note on the fretboard. And after watching that once I not only understand it but think I could even teach someone else the same thing!! I'm stunned!! Granted it will take a long time to know them all but that was so simple and easy to follow I think I'll know my fretboard very soon, thank you so much!!!

I am 51 years young and have decided to get more serious about it because of all the resources available today that were not available when I was younger like RUclips. That said I have watched so many videos lately and just wanted to take a min to say thank you. I now see the Patterns , and this Lesson Taught me to see the octaves Horizontal or Diagonal , Which ever theF😂 , This Lesson is so Clear and Precise and I Appreciate it Bro ! 🔥

I have to preface this by saying I’m a total beginner. I’m trying to simplify it a little more and what I noticed was when using the octave shapes on the G B E strings you’re skipping two frets, but on E A D strings only one fret is being skipped. Apologies if it was clear in the videos but I’m trying to squeeze as much time into my lunch break as possible. Cheers for the video! 😊

A minor, but very helpful lightbulb moment with this one, Charlie - thanks! Using the 1st string (E) to easily identify a note on the 4th string (G) is something I never would have thought of. That's where a little bit of backwards thinking comes in handy. Until now, I'd grab a note on the lower string, then locate the octave on the higher one, but wouldn't necessarily know the name of the lower one. Now I do -- and it's easy!!!!
