Sorry but the best way to learn all notes and really get your soloing going is to get the notes that come on the sticky pads they already have them give it a try!
I have watched so MANY self teach videos and frankly learnt NOTHING, either getting fed up with all the uneccessary woffle or listening to people massaging their own egos!!! This IS THE BEST VIDEO I have ever seen. From the very start It ALL made SENSE. I have now LEARNT what I had long since given up even trying to learn. I NOW KNOW how to memorize every note on my guitar.FANTASTIC!! Thank you SO MUCH.
That was literally THE most helpful video I've ever watched on the guitar. The way so many others try to explain what you just explained, was like taking a lesson on quantum physics & how quantum entanglement works. You simplified it down in such a way that I think anyone could understand. You literally just unlocked the fretboard in my mind for the first time ever. It's so clear now I feel stupid for having never known it. I've always just played by ear. Definitely subscribing!
I have been playing guitar since the mid 80's and never memorized all the notes. I could tell you what they are but, it would take some time. A few weeks ago I started watching these videos on RUclips and this one is by far the best method. Great lesson!!
Sir! I have been playing guitar long before you were born! In just 10 mins, you have unlocked the confusion of what each note on the neck is better than ANYONE that I've seen / heard! Well done to you! Thanks very much and love from San Francisco!
This is the first time in my Life a fret board has made sense to me. I've taken guitar lessons and this is the one thing i always wanted to know. Thanks Homeboy
Excellent. So many guitar RUclipsrs claim to get you to learn fret board quickly. This one acknowledges it takes time but provides an effective and fun technique to help you get there. Best I've seen anyway.
Amazing! I'm a 66-year-old noodler. This is the first time I've ever seen finding notes by using these octave shapes taught so simply that my old brain can comprehend it. Thank you, Charlie.
🤯 I have watched dozens of videos on this and was not able to learn this until now. Others cannot explain it as well as you. They either go too fast or start talking about other things making it super confusing. Now I know how to find the notes instantly. Thank you so much! I owe you a lot for this one. 🤘
Amazing, I've been playing guitar for years casually, looked at this sort of thing before and goes over my head figured it would take years of music theory to understand every note on the fretboard. And after watching that once I not only understand it but think I could even teach someone else the same thing!! I'm stunned!! Granted it will take a long time to know them all but that was so simple and easy to follow I think I'll know my fretboard very soon, thank you so much!!!
Knowing where the BC & EF notes is really helpfull as these natural notes are 1 semitone apart...every other natural note will be a full 2 frets from one another moving up or down the fretboard. Great video man !
I've been playing guitar since 2006 and never memorized the fretboard outside of knowing the basic root notes of the chords. This video is absolutely well done and easy to follow. They say you never stop learning.
I've been praying about someone to teach me I know cowboy chirds but seem lost tired of same Ole thing wanted and tried to learn from cds videos books etc was about to give up then I prayed and found this now I'm learning again excited. Thank you made it understandable
I came to the comments to see if it was just me that regrets having ever watched any other guitar teacher explain this! This is effective teaching! Thank you! The multiple examples allowed me to stop and practice and try it out for myself and before I knew it I was in disbelief at how quickly I got it! Genius! Thank you ❤
I have been trying to learn Guitar off and on throughout my life. I am 51 years young and have decided to get more serious about it because of all the resources available today that were not available when I was younger like RUclips. That said I have watched so many videos lately and just wanted to take a min to say thank you. Of all the videos I have watched this by far offers the fastest, most simple way of learning the notes on the fretboard that I have seen. A simple like and subscribe was not enough, keep up the good work!
This is single-handedly the BEST memorization for fret board I have come across. I knew the ocataves from strings 4 and 5, but never learned the technique on the 6th and 5th strings. This is amazing and thank you! U got a new subscriber!
I've watched a lot of videos on this topic and every time I've gotten lost somewhere in the middle, always finding it hard after the second or third step, but this is it! Probably the best way to FINALLY learn the notes on the fingerboard! Thanks a lot!
It's like he emphasizes several times in the beginning - I'll need to drill these things into my head so I won't have to think about it. Great explanation, dude - this is gold. Thank you!
Today I wanted to find a lesson on beginner scales. Thank heavens I found this great lesson and the way you explained it made it make sense. Thanks so much
Just started to learn how to play guitar a week ago. I've watched so many videos trying to learn the fundamentals and this video is by far the best tutorial I've come across. It starting out with the basic exercise to then it going into easier exercises is such a bonus i will be adding to my routine. Nice job and thanks so much for making this video!
I played accordion for 15 years. I really enjoyed your presentation with a piano key board, vs guitar string. I planing to buy a guitar and learn to play. I'm thinking buying a acoustic guitar with nylon stings.
Our Mind Looks for Pattern's to Learn things Quickly and So Crossing Over from Piano to Guitar , I have been Trying to Find these Patterns and it has been Frustrating and then I Realized , I was looking at the Fretboard Wrong all these years, And This is Why I never Got it .I Started Studying a Pic of the Fetboard , and I began to look at the Fretboard Parallel as A Keyboard , (if that makes sense ). I now see the Patterns , and this Lesson Taught me to see the octaves Horizontal or Diagonal , Which ever theF😂 , This Lesson is so Clear and Precise and I Appreciate it Bro ! 🔥
This was incredibly helpful!! It makes perfect sense. I am an absolute beginner and seeing this (after having seen many other confusing videos) I was like, "Oh...well that's easy!" Thank you for sharing this technique with us. It is so appreciated.
Charlie I am already on the Guitar Master Method program. I am having a hard time learning the Fretboard I watched this video and I have a better understanding of my Guitar as I never had one until about a month ago.
Really saw a lot of videos trying to cover the „learn the fretboard“ topic, but even after playing for years, I gave up and thought, that this is something what I’m not able to learn. Until I saw this video 🤩 Really great way of explaining and as well the static guitar filming incl. overlay of finger positions (awesome method, chapeau 👍🏻) Thanks a lot for sharing this , appreciate the effort it took to create this 🙏🏻
This was really helpful and well explained. Thanks! And, btw, for me as located in Germany, your English is better to understand for me than, for example, the Birmingham UK accent 🤘🏻
Gotta try drilling this in. I already know the natural notes on the E strings and the octave shapes. Until now I've been buried in other methods to get to all the notes. I like that this one just uses the knowledge I already have.
I think for me in my 60’s l just didn’t apply myself enough when l younger (teens and twenties) l just didn’t ask enough ?’s about learning guitar and having the discipline to practice etc, now with all the technology (RUclips, downloads etc) one can learn so much on guitar etc, l wish l would have asked what are the notes on the guitar, how do you find them, ear training etc-now I’m learning how to do all of that-real good instruction here and I’ve already started applying this so that l can find all the notes on the guitar, #’s , b, Thanks Much for your instruction, real detailed and clear
I used the same Easter bunny thing back in the 80s to learn the strings. I always thought it was some goofy thing my friend came up with because I never heard it from anyone else until now.
I have to preface this by saying I’m a total beginner. I’m trying to simplify it a little more and what I noticed was when using the octave shapes on the G B E strings you’re skipping two frets, but on E A D strings only one fret is being skipped. Apologies if it was clear in the videos but I’m trying to squeeze as much time into my lunch break as possible. Cheers for the video! 😊
Exactly the explanation/tutorial I was searching for! Very easy to understand because you didn't stray off into multiple tangents like so many other content creators do. Awesome!
A minor, but very helpful lightbulb moment with this one, Charlie - thanks! Using the 1st string (E) to easily identify a note on the 4th string (G) is something I never would have thought of. That's where a little bit of backwards thinking comes in handy. Until now, I'd grab a note on the lower string, then locate the octave on the higher one, but wouldn't necessarily know the name of the lower one. Now I do -- and it's easy!!!!
Thanks for a great video Charlie. Most instructive and easy to learn especially for the B string fingering just one semitone down which follows the tuning. . Thanks.

I have already stuck the fretboard notes on mine. I hardly look at them not because I know them by heart. I don't
THIS IS THE MOST GREAT EXPLANATION. Awesome.

Justin guitar has a great app
I swear to God mate yu ain't the only one I can second that
exactly same here
Yep me to
Two and a half minutes in this video taught me more than tens of other full videos.
I didn’t even finish the video and here i am commenting.
If only i had these resources 40 years ago. What a time we live in. You guys rock.
No lie. You are like me and learned from Mel Bay and recorded music as well as trial and error.
@@markusgarvey Me too. I can't imagine how much better I would be if RUclips was around in the 80's.
Exactly 👍🏻👍🏻
This was definitely a Lightbulb moment. This video taught me more than any other video.
This is without doubt the most important video for a beginner. Well done 👍
The two octave shapes brought it home for me. You know what enlightenment is… You bring it my man.

Why am I just learning this!!!!!!!!!!!!omg this already has opened up more possibilities for me.
This is the first time in my Life a fret board has made sense to me. I've taken guitar lessons and this is the one thing i always wanted to know. Thanks Homeboy
Right?!?
Great editing, I love the transparent finger effect so you can see the fretboard
Excellent. So many guitar RUclipsrs claim to get you to learn fret board quickly. This one acknowledges it takes time but provides an effective and fun technique to help you get there. Best I've seen anyway.
Probably the best vid on fretboard knowledge I've seen so far. Thanks

Great to hear you got so much value from this lesson Adren :)
Same to me
Why has nobody ever explained it this way to me before ? Great video, thank you 👏👍🎸🎸
Every video I have ever watched on fret board theory was nothing but rocket science until I found this video, thank you!
This is by far the most simplest explanation of the fretboard notes. LIGHT BULB TURNED ON!!!!
Amazing, I've been playing guitar for years casually, looked at this sort of thing before and goes over my head figured it would take years of music theory to understand every note on the fretboard. And after watching that once I not only understand it but think I could even teach someone else the same thing!! I'm stunned!! You're very welcome, glad it helped. :)
fantastic, taking the frets in groups of 3 alone made all the difference
Excellent video, one never stops learning. 45 years and I picked up another useful nugget! Thanks!
Best lesson for the fret brother. Incredibly easy explanation.
Best explanation I've ever seen on RUclips. Simple when well explained. Thank you.
I've been praying about someone to teach me I know cowboy chirds but seem lost tired of same Ole thing wanted and tried to learn from cds videos books etc was about to give up then I prayed and found this now I'm learning again excited. Thank you made it understandable
This is no doubt the best guitar note illustration I have seen on the internet. Thank you so much.
Wow, thank you!
I came to the comments to see if it was just me that regrets having ever watched any other guitar teacher explain this! This is effective teaching! Thank you! The multiple examples allowed me to stop and practice and try it out for myself and before I knew it I was in disbelief at how quickly I got it! Genius! Thank you ❤
I can't believe I retained all that, and it all started with just "this is E, F, G". Wonderful, thank you

Love it. Even as a beginner this resonates so much easier. It's nice to reference piano keys too
Thank you !!! As a beginning guitar player this was absolutely what was needed Thanx so much again😄
This is single-handedly the BEST memorization for fret board I have come across. I knew the ocataves from strings 4 and 5, but never learned the technique on the 6th and 5th strings. This is amazing and thank you! U got a new subscriber!

I need to go over this material daily for a couple of weeks. It definitely is being added to my daily practice sessions. As always, Charlie, you rock.
Thank you so much. I understood the low E three strings but not the B to high E. You made this so simple. Very much appreciated.🙏👍👍
Absolutely the best fretboard memorization method! You are a GENERAL!
Man you put slot of time and energy into this video including the editing. It’s appreciated 🙌🏻
Terima kasih ilmunya..sangat bermanfaat..great JOB.

Wow! The notes on the fretboard are finally starting to make sense. I especially liked the Octave Shape shortcut. Thank You!

BIG THANKS!!!! In a matter of minutes, with the guitar after watching the video, like magic
Hey man! Thank you!!! This has been something I’ve struggled with for years and you just blew my mind!!!! So easy!! Best explanation on the internet

Awesome tutorial! After 33 years I'm trying to learn more than just by ear or tabs!
Mind blown.... in a fantastic way. Thanks for this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really saw a lot of videos trying to cover the „learn the fretboard“ topic, but even after playing for years, I gave up and thought, that this is something what I’m not able to learn.
Until I saw this video 🤩
Really great way of explaining and as well the static guitar filming incl. overlay of finger positions (awesome method, chapeau 👍🏻)
Thanks a lot for sharing this , appreciate the effort it took to create this 🙏🏻
What a great channel! No fluff, just straight knowledge that can be immediately applied.
This was really helpful and well explained. Thanks! And, btw, for me as located in Germany, your English is better to understand for me than, for example, the Birmingham UK accent 🤘🏻
30 years playing guitar and this video is Simply Amazing! Thank you and subscribed!
I honestly love the style. Practical and straightforward.
Great explanation I now see the obvious connection looking the octaves across the strings. Very cool
I've been losing my mind for years trying to make sense of all this and your method finally totally made sense. Love this
Best video yet ( on fretboard now learning). I'm glad i came acted this😊
Gotta try drilling this in. I already know the natural notes on the E strings and the octave shapes. Until now I've been buried in other methods to get to all the notes. I like that this one just uses the knowledge I already have.
The translucent hand over the guitar reminds me of Marty McFly on stage at the end of Back to the Future
I just wanted to say thank you!!! I’m glad I got on your channel and I’m not losing out on anything you have helped me through this process
Thank you….it makes it easier to remember..
Fantastic tutorial! I learned a great deal. Started my fretboard memorization journey 3 weeks ago and this really helped improve my fluency
This is the perfect lesson .. Words can't express how thank you I'm . ❤
Dude!!!!! I have been searching for videos for hours trying to find a simple way!!!!!! Search is over man!!! I appreciate it. You gained a sub!
Dude this is awesome! First time I am seeing the relative positions of notes on a fret board. ❤
Thanks man!❤❤❤
The acronym I used for the stings starting from the Low E is - Elephants And Donkeys Grow Big Ears
Thats the same one I use.
Brilliant and simplified,,wish lessons like this exiated 40 yrs ago...thank you for sharing ✌️🎵😎

I smiled watching this. This is the most logical easier to memorize using my old brain. Thanks.
This is hands down the easiest and best explained video on learning the fretboard. I just subscribed! Thanks!
This is the one video that will get me to memorize the fretboard. Amazing. Thanks.
Glad to hear it!
Thank you for such a valuable lesson. Great video!
I used the same Easter bunny thing back in the 80s to learn the strings. I always thought it was some goofy thing my friend came up with because I never heard it from anyone else until now.
Brilliant! Thank you. This helps so much. Simple and effective.
Looking forward to more of your videos.
Thank you for that easy way to identify the notes on the Fretboard, very good tool

The best so far...
The best tutorial on Fret Board theory. Kudos!!!
Thanks!
Exactly the explanation/tutorial I was searching for! Very easy to understand because you didn't stray off into multiple tangents like so many other content creators do. Awesome!
I've been thinking of joining... This video made up my mind. Definitely joining as this makes the most sense out of any training videos I've seen
Great to have you on board :)
PS THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO ON RUclips TEACHING HOW TO LEARN THE GUITAR NECK NOTES THE EASY WAY.
Thanks so much, I think I finally can memorize the fretboard now.
I watched many RUclips videos on this topic but your one is the easiest. Thanks

OMG What a great lesson. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome!
Best explanation yet. This just clicked with me. Thank you
Fantastic man, finally I learned how to identify all the notes in the fretboard, thank you so very much.
thank you very nice to know
