Your VISUALS are excellent - The many other sites that teach guitar can take Lessons from You!! Don't change - this sets you apart from most others. I am going to subscribe. Thanks.
I agree A.W., I have found a LOT of "instructors" Like to go fast, so then we can continue to go to that site, and constantly click the watch later, and repeat..til we get it, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but I like to see where the fingers go, and remember how to get there.. :)
I’ve been playing for almost two years and I’m finally gonna start learning scales. Thank you for your amazing tutorials! You teach in a way that makes it so much easier to grasp
I bought a guitar to teach myself about a month ago. Some friends told me I should start out learning scales. Well, I learned that C Major scale within 2 days from this video and it feels so good!! Thanks!
man, I really appreciate the way you put that; as I was just thinking; how this man, his offering, is a perfect example of what humans were created, CREATIVELY, to be;,, open,, enlightening,, skill-full,, generously sharing what has been learned, and how, so that others can learn and incorporate those skills, if /when they're compelled, for the intrinsic joy and sense of well being it brings, to oneself and to others, by being a full-filled human being.. the generous sharing of skills, practiced around the world, and we have a better life on earth :) Agree 100%,, the lesson, his visuals and pace are excellent, with practice, I believe it'll click..
Depending on what chord you are playing over decides what scale to use. A major chord progression = major pentitonic scale. Minor chord progression= minor pentitonic scale etc.. My advice is to learn both major and minor pentitonic scales first. Mainly because almost all the other more exotic scales are based off one or the other of these scales. Also note that the pattern does not change when learning these scales only the starting point changes depending on what key your plaing in. E pen minor starts open and repeats at the 12th fret. A Bpen minor starts on the 7th and repeats on the 19th. Etc.

Yes. I did. Enjoyed. For all the basic scales videos I've watched (which is a lot over 20 years and still being basic) this with diagrams and calling out the notes as played is absolutely the best I've found and dare it say, understood. I think I've found my 20 minute practice warm up video! Thank you.
This will help with my granddaughter and my son. Definitely a better visual than most! Em was the first scale I learned when I decided to learn how to play the guitar 🎸.
Wasn’t UNTILL years later that it dawn on me to learn scales. I focus more on chords and songs. Really slowed down my guitar knowledge and fret board work. But one I start playing scales. It was like a light turned on. And away I went. When starting to lean guitar. It’s imperative to learn scales as well as chords. Then you can see how the two augment each other. Plus using the C.A.G.E. chord positioning. Really helps. Thanks. There is so much to learn.
Oh my god, you have no idea how grateful I am that this exists! I'm trying to learn the guitar by myself, and after about a week of trying out some chords, I wanted to attempt the scales. However, anything I read or watched confused me, and I grew frustrated, so much so that I almost lost the motivation to continue. Almost. You really helped me get out of my slump thanks to your awesome teaching methods!!!
Thanks, that was very clear and easy to understand what you were doing. why it seems like you are the only one that feels it’s important to put an insert of the guitar neck showing the notes you are playing, everyone else seems to just think that a newbie should know which note they are playing when the fingers are hiding the strings and frets
I have been looking and looking and researching and researching, trying to find a good tutorial and break down of this basic scale FOR YEARS. I've finally found it here. Thank you for such an incredibly clear tutorial that's easy to follow and learn from.
Man oh man.I know this first scale like the back of my hand but I've never known what or how to name the chords/strings..I can play right along with you through the very first scale but Im having to chase through the rest.I know I will eventually get It and you are helping me a lot..I truly thank you my guitar friend.
Great instructions that are easy to follow along. I've been having difficulty grasping the open scale mechanics until right now. Great visuals and instructions for even a super senior (me) to handle.
This was great. I'm so glad I ran into Charlie and Eddie these guys are awesome. I am a fairly accomplished violinist but am new to the guitar (2 weeks) Well because of this open position scale (Phyrigian mode) I can play all of the major and minor scales YOU GUYS ROCK. Look forward to your next lesson! GMM is the real deal!
Amazing tutorial. Great instructions and description. It’s been years since I touched a guitar and unlike a bike it doesn’t come back after a few minutes. Thanks for making learning fun again. My fingers periodically remembered we can do this! It’ll come back
Thanks for sharing this Eddie!!! :) I think that the biggest mountain to climb is learning all the seven modes in all their five different positions! A LOT!!!
So glad to see the graphics implemented! I am new VIP member and just getting into it, so mostly gong through older courses and really wanted more graphical/visual content. This is great!
Great video, I just started learning scales and I’ve been very confused. This video really broke it down for me and give me a better understanding of what I am learning and that I’m learning the musical alphabet. Really appreciate the video man, will probably be watching it multiple times over the next few weeks. As I start my journey learning scales. Thanks a lot really appreciate the video, you lay out everything very well.
I was watching this video and my phone fell out of my hand, out the window of my house I was leaning from...when I went to look for my phone in the bushes below your voice helped me find it - cheers, and nice vid! (Off to click replay) Haha
Really enjoyed this lesson Eddie! Thanks! I’ve had a small song started in my head on my acoustic just using chords, this might help me unlock another part to it.

Awesome. Have you done videos for all the positions? ( I know they translate as you move up but just to see them separated out like this is really motivating for beginners. If yes, can you please direct me to those videos. These types of lessons are very helpful.

I most often hear that the minor pentatonic scale is most important. Some day this whole scale thing will come to light.
did you get it? if yes, please tell me how to get started.
@@siddhantvadan No. Sorry.
