I agree A.W., I have found a LOT of "instructors" Like to go fast, so then we can continue to go to that site, and constantly click the watch later, and repeat..til we get it, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but I like to see where the fingers go, and remember how to get there.. :)

man, I really appreciate the way you put that; as I was just thinking; how this man, his offering, is a perfect example of what humans were created, CREATIVELY, to be;,, open,, enlightening,, skill-full,, generously sharing what has been learned, and how, so that others can learn and incorporate those skills, if /when they're compelled, for the intrinsic joy and sense of well being it brings, to oneself and to others, by being a full-filled human being.. the generous sharing of skills, practiced around the world, and we have a better life on earth :)
Agree 100%,, the lesson, his visuals and pace are excellent, with practice, I believe it'll click..

Depending on what chord you are playing over decides what scale to use. A major chord progression = major pentitonic scale. Minor chord progression= minor pentitonic scale etc.. My advice is to learn both major and minor pentitonic scales first. Mainly because almost all the other more exotic scales are based off one or the other of these scales. Also note that the pattern does not change when learning these scales only the starting point changes depending on what key your plaing in. E pen minor starts open and repeats at the 12th fret. A Bpen minor starts on the 7th and repeats on the 19th. Etc.

Yes. I did. Enjoyed. For all the basic scales videos I've watched (which is a lot over 20 years and still being basic) this with diagrams and calling out the notes as played is absolutely the best I've found and dare it say, understood. I think I've found my 20 minute practice warm up video! Thank you.

Wasn’t UNTILL years later that it dawn on me to learn scales. I focus more on chords and songs. Really slowed down my guitar knowledge and fret board work. But one I start playing scales. It was like a light turned on. And away I went. When starting to lean guitar. It’s imperative to learn scales as well as chords. Then you can see how the two augment each other. Plus using the C.A.G.E. chord positioning. Really helps. Thanks. There is so much to learn.

Oh my god, you have no idea how grateful I am that this exists! I'm trying to learn the guitar by myself, and after about a week of trying out some chords, I wanted to attempt the scales. However, anything I read or watched confused me, and I grew frustrated, so much so that I almost lost the motivation to continue. Almost. You really helped me get out of my slump thanks to your awesome teaching methods!!!
