@@UrbanSelfSufficiency You’re right! The last instructional videos he made are very useful, plus the chipping lesson is gold. I started to play golf less than 2 weeks ago and he made these videos, perfect timing for me 🤣

I have been golfing for years. Always struggled with consistency. This video has totally changed everything. For years I have been told/ watched videos of people saying make sure you put your weight to the right side then move it back. I went and tried what you said in this video about weight near enough 50 50 then all to left side. And oh my god. It stops me lunging into it and has improved consistency so much !! Thanks very much
I just picked golf up again for the first time in about 15 years. I haven’t even played a hole yet since then. I watched this video before heading to the range and for the first time ever I was able to get consistently straight flight paths. I still need to work on striking it consistently but now I have a stronger desire to play. Thank you Rick for the lesson!
i wanted to come back to leave a comment. i only tried golf once years ago and never understood how to swing a club. I was giving it another go and after a few botched swings, I watched this video about 4 times then applied what i learned. I saw immediate results. I was hitting a solid straight ball around every 5 to 7 tries. Now i am not only hitting it straight and consistent, i am putting the ball where i want to 95% of the time. Thank you Rick Shiels.
Love the simple explanation , trying to find my golf swing after elbow surgery, totally forgotten how to swing a club hoping this will help, love the down to earth no BS way of explaining , thanks
Awesome Rick, glad you're doing these still! I've recently got my wife into the game. I don't think I am good enough to try to train her, so this will be very helpful to show her - an unbiased pro with simple tips! Thanks my dude
We are on holiday in at a place with a driving range, my son and I had never played golf before but wanted to give it a try. This video was perfect. We headed straight out after watching it and an hour later, were hitting some clean shots. I think we've caught the bug as we were talking about ways to improve later that day - thank you so much!
I needed this! Thanks for the breakdown !!! I'm a new player still trying to break 100 and this setup technique will help me to grasp the body mechanics.
I used these tips and finally hit a straight ball 254 yards!!!!! I just started golfing a few months ago and have been watching your videos nonstop. Thank you sooooooooo much for the content! I'm filling In for someone in a local tournament later this month. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much Rick!! I watched this video and your older 6 part series on the complete golf swing. I have played golf for 30+ years, have never taken any lessons and struggle with ball striking and consistency. Your videos made so much sense and helped me really understand what I was doing wrong. Yesterday I went out to the range to try out what I had learned in watching your videos. WOW!! I was striking the ball so so so much better and so much more consistently! And I also watched your video on hitting a driver. Again WOW!! I made some adjustments based on that video and I can truly tell you I have never hit my driver so well!! Thank you so much! You have earned a subscriber and I can't wait to get out on the course and play a round.
Rick your video has changed everything about my game. The way you showed me how to place my lower hand from the back of the grip was amazing.I played for 20 years and struggled with consistency.I did it yesterday at the range and was astonished.I went to #1 and roped it down the center. My irons have never been hit so well.I can not thank you enough,I love watching Grant but you are the man.Once again thank you so much.Your fan forever. Very simple explanation for beginners thank you so much! Trying to use the whole body in the swing is hard but you did a wonderful job giving examples!
Thank you for the advice. Bought a few used clubs today and brought my 9 y.o. son to the park for our first try at golf. We brought 28 balls and only lost 4. 2 of my 28 shots went straight towards the target, around 100+ yards. My son wants to go back everyday now. After your advice, well see if we can run a line drive with much more power. Im confident Ill up my straight shots and get 15 of 28 straight down the line...thank you so much!

Excellent video. Simple, and effective for all levels of golfers. Best tip for me, was the swing is around the body, not up and down. Started hitting it better immediately. This should be reviewed often when the swing goes awry. Well done lad.
Such a great video. I’ve recently developed a bad habit of using my arms too much in my swing. Going back to the absolute basics has really improved my ball striking ability.
Thank you for this. I'm going to be sixty six in less than two months, retired eleven. months, and sorely need exercise and something to do. I used to work out a lot and had to finally stop after close to thirty five years due to basically wrecking my shoulders by continuing to work out even after advanced arthritis in both of them, resulting to bone on bone friction. I have had shoulder replacements in each of the past two years and only was on a golf course twice in my life, both times over thirty years ago, both times for nine holes, and BOTH times I was beyond horrible. You did. great job of explaining this. Thanks again sir!
Hi there cheers for this. Been wanting to play for a long time. Bought myself a set of tour edge hl4 clubs and got my second lesson with a club pro today. Was a nice refresher 😜
That was brilliant, I've tried to master my swing for 35 years and reached another dead end this week (my consistency just left me) so decided to see what videos were out there from a very basic view point and here we are👌 My first change is going to be trying to swap to the interlocking grip, I've always been an overlapper. My theory is the best golfers make it look easy and so it must be easy once you do all the basics correctly. The elite golfers have this plus they have extra skills like better touch and course management but we'll worry about that later or you'll do a follow up video.
The elegance and precision in this golf video are truly remarkable. The golfer's seamless swing and flawless performance inspire me to refine my own skills and strive for such fluidity in every stroke. Looking forward to more videos like this!
just wanted to update ,I took your advicend and went to interlock grip ,as I was using overlap as I've big hands & someone said must use that, just didn't feel right & shots were going everywhere but straight, love the feel of interlock, thanks & some, not all shots are going where they should be , happy Christmas 🎅
The one tip I got from a family friend, I golfed with yesterday, was to use the club's natural lie, and that was the one piece of advice I feel I needed this entire time, and I was able to hit the ball straigh as a bloody arrow, to my absolute shock. Thank you, Ted!
