Description-
Airline: Delta
Aircraft: McDonnell Douglas MD88 (Super80)
Aircraft Reg: N937DL
Seat: 33A
Flight Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
Route: ATL-BDL
Thanks for tuning in! On this flight, I'm heading up to BDL for a few weeks to see family and when I saw the Super 80 was going there, I didn't hesitate to hop on them. At the time of this recording in the summer, Delta still had over 100 MD88's active in it's fleet. The MD's are the workhorse for Delta's fleet and still continue to be today. If you have a chance to get on one, do it. They're the coolest planes in the sky and in my opinion, the best plane ever built.
Some Really cool engine views and sound in here! Full reversers were used on landing!

Never before onboard a plane-ride I,ve heard such a pleasant and soothing cabin-background-music during boarding. Very well done DELTA!!!
Liked and favorited, that was awesome!! They flew the hell out of it, and to top it off with full reverse. Loved it!
Jonahair747 I had a feeling you'd like this one😂 My jaw was sore from how far it dropped on landing
Fantastic job dude, really enjoyed it!!!
Amazing trip report
Love this bird! I just took a flight ATL-BHM on her on Halloween and booked the routing just to fly on her one last time. You can only catch them now out of ATL according to what the FA's told me. I had the same seat as you, and there were maybe 40 pax on our flight. Finally got the vid uploaded to my channel. Cheers!
Fantastic video! Thank you for sharing! =D
Nice! I'll be flying out on an AA MD-80 in May!
Brennan's Flight Factor Awesome! I'll definitely be going on some more eventually
Yeah, I hope to get one of the remaining 2 MD-82s, or the the last ever built MD-80 (N984TW)!
ATL Maddog is best Maddog.
I'm flying both the md88 and md90 in the beginning of January
What a treat! What time did you leave Atlanta?
Dumitru Langham I left around 10:45. Thanks!
Why are 29yr old planes still in service
Could me please tell me someone what,s this for a very lovely song in the cabin during boarding?? Thank you so much in advance for answer my question timely. Very much I would like to enjoy the entire song here at "youtube".
Markus Schult Its actually boarding music. Not sure what song it is.
Captain Cooper, thank you so much for read and answered my question so timely. In my opinion DELTA is one of the best US airlines. Still this summer I was flown with a big wide-body DELTA B-767-400ER across the big pond. From Atlanta (Georgia) to Dusseldorf (Germany). Even on it,s long-haul flights DL has a very attractive inflight-service. The food, incl. Ice-Cream was simply yummy and the flight-attendants very attentive, friendly and handsome. Much better than AMERICAN or UNITED. In the meanwhile nearly the whole DL-fleet has very nice updated cabin-layouts with very comfy seats.
Guess I should get on one of these soon before Delta completely phases them out next year.
One of the younger md-88s I think. Aren’t some 35?
The oldest in the fleet is N904DL which is 32 years old.
Captain Cooper I knew they were somewhere in the 30s... why do you think Delta is replacing the md-88 with the A220s? The A220 Holds Way less people.
ELEVrjATOR As of now, the A220's are replacing regional routes instead of Maddog routes. No A220's are being based in ATL as of now. The A321 and 739 are currently replacing Maddog routes.
Captain Cooper aren’t the a220s replacing a319s as well? I didn’t know that they were replacing the MD - 88 with a321 aircraft. I like those planes a lot!
I bet it was late lol.
