I lived near the Rockies and you have to really love winter and cold weather to enjoy living there. This place looks beautiful in the summer but wait until there's 3 feet of snow.

Ideally you want to have so much money that you'd never have to sell this home even if you moved away. You could pass it on to your children or keep it as an alternate vacation retreat.
I can't see selling it, especially when the price keeps dropping.

If that were my house, I wouldn't even notice the pandemic, because I'd never leave my house anyway! Most mansions these days are so tacky and McMansiony, but this is absolutely stunning. You can tell that so much care went into making it.

Beautiful ranch! The maintenance and upkeep of a place like this is big money
same with a boat the thinking is 10% of the purchase price per year for maintenance; = 10% per year over 10 years = the original purchase price so this house is actually 42M over 10 years ie its double - its how ppl go broke as they think it is only 21m when including maintenance its 42m over 10 years. same with any purchase, you have to look at it as double over 10 years to get a really price and if you can afford it or not. e

So it's dropped in price $7.5 Million since the first time it was put on the market. I've noticed a lot of people are trying to get out of larger high-end houses. Most likely because the upkeep alone is staggering, and then there's the massive taxes and power bills.
Of course. It's not even woth it. You can buy a beautiful cabin style luxury home for around $2.5 mil and you'd be completely happy.
If you're a 4 or 5 person family - this is ridiculous - amazing - but ridiculous.
Your right but ill add to that since this house has a bunch of land that most likely won't be farmed there is alot of tax breaks the owner could get, for example on my families 1200 acres we get alot knocked off because we maintain these rock glades that a endangered lizard lives on and between that and farming 25 acres of it by a guy who pays for the privilege most of the property taxes are taken care of so taxes is a issue but not a huge one if you know where some loopholes are
@@missourimongoose8858 I get what you're saying, and that works on regular land, but this land is controlled by an HOA, you can not farm it, and you can rent/lease any of it out. This place is basically nothing more than a playground for rich people. It's 18000-acres all together, and you can defer a lot of land taxes because the land is a wildlife easement, meaning you can never build on or clear any of the land, you can only maintain it. As for the taxes on just the house alone, I'm guessing they are around 7.5%, so they're around $1 Million per year.
I guess some very rich company owner could buy it as a company retreat and write some of the taxes off that way.
