I make movie when I go metal detecting and I have look at DJI Osmo Pocket. I filming on the artifacts I finds, and use my phone. Can I get closed to the artefacts with Osmo Pocket and get som good movies? Sorry for my bad English, hope u understand what I meant :)
Brill tips ,just got my osmo pocket for birthday and your tips already have improved my experience as I have iPhone 10s Max and would not connect on side with otter box case on ..the cable works a treat ..subscribed ..thks again
Don't pan the camera head by hand unless creating the points for moving timelapse - but you can move the tilt axis in normal modes. To mount the camera to a tripod, get a spring loaded mic clip from any music store, plus a thread adapter, and you can then screw that onto any tripod.
Love your videos! Your straight to the point and so clear. My Osmo pocket arrived today and I’m excited to play around with it tomorrow. I think it will improve my video quality no end.
You can also offload footage by plugging in the OP in the ipad pro I guess? I'm really thinking of getting the new ipad pro for film and photo editing, seems to work great.
Thanks for the tips. How is autofocus operated in AFS mode? it does not work for me. Does the focus point have to be reset again and again? or does it also remain stored after switching off? afc is not suitable for fireworks shots. I think AFS would be better. Or do we need a new firmware?
Thanks for the great little tips for the Osmo. I didn’t realize you could do some of the alternative things that you showed. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
So if you're on Android and connect a USB C extension cable to the middle mount then you should still be able to attach a powerbank to the bottom USB C connector to have a cabled remote and power for long timelapses.
For cinematic video 24 frames per second is the choice many use. However personally for myself I always film at 60 frames per second so I can slow down footage in editing. I export most of my videos at 30 frames per second. You can still get in a cinematic style videos without filming at 24 frames per second. It all boils down to personal choice. You could try both frame rates and See what you like best
Thanks for the suggestions, I am using the Note 8 and using the cable thru the bottom port wont work as how it works with iphones, it thinks my phone is a battery bank and it messed up my phone for a bit, just a suggestion.
Hi there. great reviews! Thank you for sharing. When viewing / reviewing, playback recorded video directly on the Osmo Pocket (and not connected to a smart device or phone), why am I unable to hear the audio? Is the Osmo Pocket only for reviewing the video only until it is transferred to smart devices or the computer? Thanks so much for your help.
Hello Air Photography, thank you for the well done review. Do have any information about Heat / Battery problems when permantly recording in 4k/60p, with a external battery pack attached. Does the camera shutdown because of the heat? As we all know these cameras can get very hot, for example the new GoPro stops recording in 4k after ~50min. thank you and have a nice day
Hi! Thanks for your great videos! Does your Pocket also makes a beep when you start/stop to film? That's so far the most annoying thing and I think there is no way to disable that. Otherwise I love my Osmo Pocket!
Thank you for your great review, really helpful tips there. One further question: If I connect my phone with the Osmo Pocket, will my Phone then charge/steal battery from my phone? Thank you in advance!
the bottom cable trick works on Android devices just fine.... USB C to C cables work fine with Android phones that have USB C ports. For older MicroUSB ports, I've seen someone use a OTG cable connected to the Osmo Pocket, then a regular USB A to MicroUSB cable.
Air Photography, looks like our channels are recommending each others Osmo videos my friend! Great content, I've been by before, but, back again:). Hope your well, talk soon.
Thank you so much for the most informative tips. I am a beginner & this was the most helpful video that I've seen. You have a new subscriber! Thank you for all that you do!
do you know if it it is possible to memorize the exposition taping on the monitor and it would be a great feature to have but I think it is possible only with the mobile phone attached to the Osmo so it is a pity because from many RUclips test I watched it happens that when you have a blu sky behind a person, well the person or people come out very underesposed and the automatic esposition inside the Osmo have big troubles to keep the right exposition . This is a feature that can be corrected with future firmware and I hope they listen us .
Thanks so much for posting this video I really appreciate it and I'm sure a lot of others do. I live in Australia and am just about to purchase one . Dave
Wish I had done some more research with it and android phones ... only ideal if your running IOS or at least a USBC adaptor till you get an adaptor plug lead thankfully I had kept my old apple phone 6 to set it up ... cracking images and video
Just a little observation about your 1st tip although I did like the rest, so thumbs up: Attaching the latest smartphone to a table tripod and recording 4k with that makes more sense..... why would I connect the DJI pocket onto it and record with that device if it just sits on the table unless it will be doing a programmed movement? That also means I am powering 2 devices for one job? Plus would never walk around with the dji like that as it is only attached by the flimsy lightning connector which is prone to sooner or later detach.... I can already see all the vloggers loosing or breaking something ;)
Nice job. Thank you. I'd like to see some "in depth" discussion/orientation to each of the features and functions of the Mimo App. That's lacking in most of the other reviews around the tube. Everyone seems to show 'how to click' on a feature, but not explaining how it works.
Can you initiate and set- up OSMO POCKET via usbC to micro usb cable connected to your phone? (not using a dongle because of lack of usbC slot). Would be nice.
@Lon Denard true, it does not provide us with micro usb dongle, but if I used such a trick and connect it with LG G3 via such a cable as seen in the video , I wonderif it would get initiated and updated.
OSMO Pocket Warning: HELP PLEASE!!!! I just got the Osmo Pocket and keep getting activation failure prompts. I see there are a lot of people having the same problem on the DJI forum but the company has not offered any information on a resolution. Do you know of a "workaround" we could try to get it activated?
@@davstube I downloaded the Mimo app a few days prior to getting the Pocket. When I received it, I turned on the Pocket, plugged it in, had the Mimo app going g and it worked seamless. I wonder if it wouldn't be the memory card by chance.
Hello! I bought a new phone with usb- c specially for my osmo pocket but then found out that the phone is not compatible with mimo app 😭😭😭. Did anyone face this? Is there a fix for this other than wireless?
Great stuff thanks, need more people like you,BTW haven't got one just interested 😀 Merry Christmas and look forward to more tech stuff from you in the new year..Thanks
I just got one of these for 100 bucks with the WiFi adapter and the tripod adapter. Can't believe the quality of it. Excellent video, thanks friend.
I used the normal Osmo, and this one as well. I love this because it fits anywhere, has a touch display and is just as good as the normal one.
Can I rotate it 360 degree? I am using pocket 2
Can you download the video to your PC using the USB cable?
I make movie when I go metal detecting and I have look at DJI Osmo Pocket. I filming on the artifacts I finds, and use my phone. Can I get closed to the artefacts with Osmo Pocket and get som good movies? Sorry for my bad English, hope u understand what I meant :)
I wonder if it's possible to use a lightning extension cable to connect to a mobile phone whilst using a powerbank to charge whilst using the camera.
Can take your own pictures using standard and follow mode?
after add smart phone mobile charge from gimble batter down gimble
Questions answered and more tips I did not know after about 1 month with this...many thanks!! Subscribed!
Can you switch to selfie mode while recording and switch back?
This is the best video I’ve seen on Osmo Pocket by far. Instant subscriber.
Can we attach external mic with it .
do you know how to rotate the angle? as in when your shooting and want to turn the face like tilting
Brill tips ,just got my osmo pocket for birthday and your tips already have improved my experience as I have iPhone 10s Max and would not connect on side with otter box case on ..the cable works a treat ..subscribed ..thks again
Cool Tip.. but usb-c to usb-c won't work with the latest update 1.04 on Android ? Any experience or hints?
thanks for your video! how much shooting time will the power bank afford you?
Thanks. helpful
If you want a external mic. The GoPro adapter works with the Osmo.
Thanks for the tip I will definitely check it out
Do you know any other cable that works with it
Rishi Kaul sorry no. I happed to have a GoPro adapter so I tried it. It works but their adapter is so big.
I couldn’t get it to work.
I received an adapter that looks just like the gopro one with the Huawei P20 pro. I really hope that one will work too! Thanks for informing us
Nice video

I use a mic clip with Velcro attached to both sides and that things doesn't move at all

Great tips thanks for the video but I have one question. Where are you supposed to attach the lanyard that came with it? :D
Steve Davis on the protective case, where the lens sits. I know its dumb, would have served better for the osmo itself.
thankyou bro!!
Great ideas! Thanks.
Great video, with those specific details that you alwas want to know, but few reviewers ever mention, like the charging hole in the case.
