Welcome to the DJI Osmo pocket review based on almost 2 months of usage.
Let's see what is worth saying about it!
The Osmo pocket arrives in a small box, and doesn't come with a lot of accessories, except the hard-case carrying box.
No need to mention that stabilization with this gimbal has a lot of benefits versus EIS. Especially in low light. The size definitely does matter - because of the small scale and the lack of counterweight, if you are used to deal with larger gimbals and heavy cameras, your hand will have to adapt to the new situation and while you are improving your hand-holding skills - the footage may seem a bit … jumpy.
There are different shooting modes, including time lapse, slow motion. The gimbal could be used in modes, and I tend to like a lot the FPV mode, especially for vlogging. You may find the option for selfie mode - allowing you to record and at the same time see yourself. There also is control of the following speed - which is the reaction time between your movements and the compensation.
Few days before publishing the video, DJI has released a firmware update that brings support for D-cinelike - which allows better post-processing and color grading and captures dynamic range in a better way.
Most of the people are talking about the good, not too many dare to speak about the bad… Well - autofocus. Quite bad!
Slow motion is up to 120fps on Full HD - and this could have been better...
Timelapse is the next point. The good news is that you can create wonderful motion lapses thanks to the gimbal. The bad news is that other than that you won’t achieve anything significant - I am mostly upset because of the lack of hyperlapse-like feature. Even if you do something like hyperlapse, which on theory should work well on a gimbal, it looks HORRIBLE. This is where gopro simply smashes the osmo pocket with the feature time warp. And this is where electronic image stabilization - which is mostly software driven and happens at post-processing beats the fun out of the Osmo pocket - comes to prove that while high bitrates are there, the hero 7 firmware code is way more advanced.
At the start I mentioned accessories. And here are three awesome ideas. If you follow my videos you know that I try to be as reasonable as possible about purchasing accessories.
It has no tripod mount. So you have to buy one. Online there already are plenty of models that are 3d-primted - and they are just fine.
The second thing I got is this bike bracket. It was one of the very early models, so it was not that great. But I have the feeling that if you manage to attach it well to a bike this could be fabulous! No real bike footage from me as lately it is mostly snowy.
And, of course - having control over ISO, exposure and shutter speed makes it almost necessary to get filters. Here’s a pack of 8. Price is still a bit steep, and you may go for the cheaper packs - but I truly loved these by Freewell. Mostly because of that: yeah - magnet based quick release filters - the easiest kind of mounting, and there is no way them to fall down.

Final an in depth review with great sample footage. thanks so much for this. I will be getting this camera soon.
You will certainly enjoy a lot shooting with it.
ДЖА ДЖИ?
@@n123v Yeah - the small bulgarian project we've started.
Exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Thanks for the review.
Most welcome, Kat!👍
Without post processing the color: D-cinelike looks better all rdy then normal mode

I love this amazing action cam!
Been using it personally for 2 months now, very useful. However Battery life is not the greatest when recording @ 4K resolution.
Gimbal is amazing on all DJI products!
Worth the price? *Heck YEAH*
Yeah, DJI are fabulous when it comes to gimbals - no matter big or small.
Your music passion was quite obvious, didn't know about the video-part 😇😎
Are you are a full-time creator?
Tech4All I used to run a channel on youtube since 2011-2017. I stop producing videos and start working on my music full time now :)
It’s always fun to watch tech reviews, unboxing, and durability tests 🙏🏻
It's NOT an action cam.... Action cams can take real "action" (like a gopro)... Battery life is exceptional for such a small device with so much potential power draw...
It looks excellent street/vacation filming gear. It may be easily place in a backpack pocket. Thanks for your review. It was very helpful. The only disappointing aspect is the lack of small tripod or an equivalent accessory.
Very good summary! I am working on a review of a few useful accessories, and hopefully it will be ready soon.
Probably one of the better reviews I have seen of the Pocket. I just purchased one and hope one of these days I can travel and use it to it's fullest potential. Bulgaria looks like a one of the places I want to go.
Thanks Steve, very kind words! I believe you will like a lot the Pocket. After such a ling time my battery has degraded a little, but it is still good for 40 minutes of shooting; And the device has really good footage on bright days.
I'm still not convinced about the Pocket but this is an excellent video about it. Cheers, Dave.
Thanks Dave!
The more I use it, the better the results are getting; The bitrate is quite good, and I am surprised how good the video is for color grading afterwards - really amazing! Especially after they enabled the D-Cinelike color mode; If I use AFS (autofocus-single) and maintain the distance to the object - works good so far;
But - yeah - maybe it still needs some time to become the excellent device it is supposed to be.
Personally, I think the unit is great. But with the addition of the more 'rugged' Action format, a bit redundant. DJI is an amazing company featuring great support and continuing development (especially with regards to firmware) which further lends credence to the unit.
My only hesitation is the new InstaOne 360 R twin + 1" sensor unit that offers an 'all in one package' covering all of the bases (in addition to their Mavic piggyback unit!). That complete package minimizing hardware duplication may be the best deal of all.
Very precise summary!
I am also very tempted by the 1'' sensor; As soon as the firmware gets stable, it will be an AWESOME combo.
Underrated channel. Keep uploading.
Will do so, mate, thank you so much! 🙃
The best review so far. Realtalk. Thanks! :)
Wow, thank you so much for that kind comment! 👍😎
@@TechMishka Cheers. Getting my DJI Osmo Pocket tomorrow.
Thanks for the helpful review, we've been filming with a gopro for a few years, so interesting to contemplate the pro's and cons. Think the gopro just has it but the osmo size is quite seductive.
I can't say the Osmo Pocket can fully replace the GoPro. Having both will give you lots of options to shoot in different angles and conditions.
@@TechMishka Quite so I'm rather tempted by having both. Thanks for your feedback.
@@TechMishka the fima palm can though.
Very good! I enjoyed your honest non DJI Fanboy approach. This was refreshing. I just picked it up on Thursday, haven’t opened it yet which surprises me. Just a little unsure and tired of all the “ it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread” reviews. Good luck and see you again
Thanks Harry! DJI are famous for supplying a lot of youtubers with their devices in advance, and that unfortunately sometimes generates the wrong kind of impression.
I overall like DJI as a company, although there are many things I wish were different. Still with mixed feelings about the Osmo pocket - but what is for sure - the more you use it, the better you become at taking the most out of it 😇😎 Enjoy a lot using yours!
I purchased pgytech nd filters for my osmo pocket and I can't wait to see the results...
They work really good - recently shot a video on a very bright day and the results were outstanding.
nice!! i’ll check that out...
Nice review. I'm one step closer from getting Osmo.
Osmo is good. Have you checked the new Sony action camera? It is also interesting, however twice more expensive.
You are the guy let me make the decision to buy the pocket and to be my v blog main device. Thanks bro you did a very good job and good to see you again when the pocket 2 release in the future
Oh, I will keep this in mind and totally await to see you once there is a Pocket 2 review! 🙃🙃
Tech4All I will, and your videos are awesome. See you then.
Tech4All : Thanks Michael for your great review on the DJI Osmo Pocket ! This is the third time I have watched this video over the last couple of weeks , finding your info on the DJI Osmo Pocket even more relevant one month later ! When you ask which camera would you like to be seen using in public , the DJI Osmo or the GoPro Hero7..... The answer is overwhelmingly the DJI Osmo Pocket !!! The addition of firmware updates moving the phone forward to self dependence , and away from being mated to a Smartphone …. Thus enabling the discreet use of the DJI Osmo Pocket , is definitely a move in the right direction for consumers !!! The Freewell All-Day 4K series of ND Filters $130. U.S. ~ These high-end filters made with optical glass & magnetic strip connectivity , allowing for more professional look to photos/videos when filming in sunny/hazy polluted conditions ! The addition of a control wheel accessory is necessary for those who rely on a more precise hyper-smooth action for pan & tilt from the 3-axis gimbal !!!
*Soon a decision must be made by myself to purchase the right camera / smartphone , with all the hardware/accessories required to film , and then upload the footage on behalf of my channel !!! I have spent the better part of 3 years analyzing footage for the elusive Sasquatch/Bigfoot , so in retrospect if I want my channel to grow and become successful ….. I must now go forth into the wilds with camera in hand and start filming !!! One may ask what is necessary when filming ? >> The absolute hyper-smooth panning & tilting of ultra clear film footage in 4k 60fps , with no background " Bookeh " blur effect to hide & distort any fine details hidden amongst the woods/forest !!! Yes , I have unfortunately viewed a tonne of less than stellar , well actually crappy footage from so called Bigfoot researchers !!! Now the last 3 or 4 months there is finally an upswing in the photo quality , mainly due to action cameras flooding the market with high quality low price & accessories included , driving market prices into a downward spiral …… Thereby giving access to higher quality photography at affordable prices , especially for the non-professional filmmaker !!!* Thanks Scarboro
Hey Scarboro - you have a tough task! Hopefully all the reviews on the channel may help a bit; You have one major advantage - you know what you want 😎😇 Which usually is the big problem.
QUite honestly I am not quite sure whether the Osmo Pocket is the ultimate choice. Yes - it is highly portable, and it is phenomenal for vlogging, and I believe this is where DJI will mostly push for. However for cinematic footage ... and especially - shallow depth of field - there will be a lot of more suitable solutions.
In fact - there is a camera I continue to use more often than the Osmo Pocket, and that is the Hero 7 by GoPro - in dayligh stabilization is stellar and there's no moment which makes me think of using a true gimbal. And I like a lot the possibility to really see what I shoot or what I've shot on the display - the one on the Osmo pocket is too small, and connecting it to the phone just throws the whole idea about portability in the dustbin. But I have to admit - for post-production and color grading, it gives way more options than the Hero 7.
Maybe you may think of the larger Osmo :-)?
Overall - you seem to have the ideas in your head, so I am sure that whatever you grab, you will make the footage shine.
@@TechMishka : Thanks Michael ! Yes , the GoPro Hero 7 has changed the photography industry for the better . The advice you dispense on being able to see the screen while filming , in regards to the Hero 7 is invaluable info to all your viewers ….. !!!!! Scarboro
I was really close to throw the Osmo Pocket into the trashbin, as I always did not get sharp footage when filming myself. I was worried the root cause is the near-field ability of the camera, but you made it clear, it's the Auto-Focus! So I guess, I need to use the Camera always in combination with my phone in order to be able to define the focus. I'm afraid DJI does not want to release new firmware with a perfect auto focus. Btw: Hyperlapse on a sailing boats will cause the Gimbal to de-function, as I guess it's too much movement. Thanks for the review!
Hey Juergen, great comment!
One thing you can try is using the Single Autofocus, instead of "continuous"; If you are flogging - tap on your face before the start of the recording and maintain the distance. Works like charm most of the times.
I'm thinking about getting osmo pocket to make automotive tutorials. I often shoot car interior with mid/low light conditions and now I'm wondering if osmo will focus correctly...
Anyway, thanks for the review!
mr-fix, thank you for the comment. I am not that sure the Osmo pocket will be the best solution for that purpose; You can see that the indoor footage is a little grainy, and that is based on a room which is with a lot of light. Meaning that with cars, where the interior is usually darker, and there will be a lot of shadows, the footage may have even more noise.
Also, the viewing angle is quite narrow, so it may give you the feeling of lack of space.
For shooting car interior - it seems to be a good idea to consider something with wider-angle of view, like an action camera, or a camera with a wider lens. Like the Panasonic lx100 (as far as I remember it goes as wide as 12mm which is not that bad). Optimally - if the quality is satisfactory for you - something that is gopro-like - it will show much more from the internal space and you will not be concerned about the autofocusing issues, as most action cameras have fixed focus.
The field of view is equivalent to about 28mm. That isn't very wide.
Good video, I got mine yesterday with the DJI Wireless Module. It's excellent and enables full remote control of the OP from my android tablet, it's a must-have accessory in my opinion, especially if you have an Android phone/tablet with microUSB port. You can also charge the OP when using this 'base' so long time/motion lapse is possible.
Hey, thank you so much about sharing this! Another accessory on the "to do"-list 😎
Great review. I will add that there is a single useful feature that is missing on the Pocket - The user option to add a date/time/location stamp on the recorded video (like many Chinese GoPro copycats offer, but not GoPro, Sony, or DJI). This option would greatly add usability when filming documentaries and vlogs when you want to keep that data available on display, if desired. The TimeStamp smartphone camera app is a perfect example of how this can be done
Thanks for this excellent note! I truly hope this has been already requested to DJIs team - seems to be nothing difficult to add.
Omso Pocket Needs QuickMotion Video Function (Pan & Tilt).
Example: Pinpoint A-B to pan or tilt.
Yeah, and also - to add something like time-warp. The hyperlapse videos shot with it look quite horrible.
Great video and review, just picked one up and excited to use it.
Always a good time to buy one of these. COngratulations on the choice, and have fun using it!
No better stabilization during walking but you right size doesn't matter 😆😆😅😅
😎
Great review, thanks!
Браво, брато! Завиждам ти, че го имаш.
Чудесна джаджа е; Възможно е скоро да представят и Генерация 2 :-)
@@TechMishka Дано, че да падне цената на сегашната хаха :D
Is it working after firm update
Of course. DJI are good at handling their firmware updates.
Excellent review.ncan the batteries be replaced?
Unfortunately the battery us embedded and cannot be replaced...
is it waterproof
Not without a case.
Thank you - a very informative and useful video.
Glad you enjoyed, Jack.
Excellent video. Thank you for putting this info out there.
Most welcome, Ronald.
A question.... can you hold this upside down and have it film, like the larger gimbals? Like, how did you shoot that clip of the person with the boots on....hmmm
forum.dji.com/thread-182051-1-1.html
Very good. I just bought a pocket on closeout for $130 US
What a deal
130! That's unbelievable. Enjoy using it!
for that price i would buy two and give one out.
I must wear reading glasses. The osmo screen is too small to really see clearly. Connecting to a phone works well. The tiny format is great, but sometimes you need a larger monitor and access to control features. I use the PgyTech Osmo and phone holder with considerable ease.
I also regret the display is so small. In fact they could have easily made it larger and still keep the "pocket"-brand. And I am very reluctant to use the phone for a screen, as it really makes the whole concept of portability going away.
@@TechMishka Exactly, it is hard to check if the image is in focus on the Osmo Pocket. I am thinking of selling it and other stuff and get the GoPro Hero 8 Black that is on sale with additional batteries. I feel I always carry a camera, and I have the Pixel 3a phone. The Pocket is a great idea, but the screen is way too small and affects usability. I do not like that the battery is non replaceable.
@@stefpix all batteries are replaceable . Probably not hard to swap out the one inside the osmo
Great review- thank you! I’m getting the OP to use in conjunction with the GPH7. Can’t wait to use them both together!
You're doing really great things here! Fantastics reviews! Job well done! Bravo!
From all the new cameras in this style, which one will you chose as best for the money?
The Osmo Pocket is still the best one.
@@TechMishka Thanks, mate!

Thanks a lot, Roman. Very kind of you to say that.
something noticeable in the video is too many "dramatic" pauses when he talks.. otherwise a fantastic channel !! Keep up the good work.
Will work on reducing these, thanks Andrew.
I will guess English is second language.
1:16 - Wow which place is this? This is exactly like a place in India - MG Marg, Gangtok, Sikkim.
This is Vitosha Boulevard - the main shopping street/boulevard here in Sofia, Bulgaria.
@@TechMishka very nice. I searched for the images and saw day pics of this place and I see high mountains. Seems to be a wonderful place to hang out in Bulgaria. Even MG Marg at Gangtok is surrounded by high mountains (Himalayas).
Ok, what about osmo pocket’s mic adapter? Not only DJI charges you a premium for what is a cheap piece of plastic and makes it impossible to use a third party equivalent adapter but, at least outside of the USA this item is impossible to find. I even managed to buy it from a local reseller, I am in the UK, to be told the day before delivery (a good three weeks after I ordered it) that it was out of stock and would not be back in stock for another month at least. Furthermore, two-three days later, I received a stock reminder by DJI (as I had registered with their service before finding out that a UK reseller had one in stock) that the item was back in stock. Nevertheless, when I tried to buy it from their store (I received the reminder at 11.30pm and I saw the email only two hours later when I tried to buy it from their online store) I could not buy it and customer service told me that it was out of stock and tried to convince me to buy it from an American resellers for close to double its price (plus possible import tax by UK customs).
Youre right you cant compare Pocket and Hero7. Two different cameras. The Osmo Pocket is doing such a great job in my Vlog setup. by the way good review Greets Frank😊🎬
Awesome! Finally a wonderful German channel - glad you stopped by and see you around :-)
Tech4All Thank you very much. 😊🎬
If I'm going to buy in a few days. Would all units they are selling now would have the audio adapter, or should I a specifically ask for the the new one with the audio adapter
I don't think so - DJI often like to charge about all extra accessories.
A well balanced review, have been looking to get a small video device and was drawn to the GoPro, but this has made me think twice.
Nilesh, right now I will strongly recommend to check the Osmo Action. Based on a week using it - it is delightful. Also - the Hero 7 Black is now more affordable than ever 😎
Was the footage you were shooting outdoors color graded? Or the normal mode?
No grading. Most of it was shot in d-cinelike mode.
This is a really good review. Just what I needed. Thank you!
Most welcome, Jannine! Best wishes for the New Year!
Good review, thanks!!!
Most welcome, Fabrizio! Thank you for stopping by to say a good word 👍

This is a rather interesting review, but I still haven't decided what is better for me :) please guys, tell me which is better to buy DJI Osmo Pocket or GoPro 7 black?
If you are wondering which to choose between both - better wait for one more month until the Hero 8 is out. 😎
Tech4All Thank you!
My question is this in a couple years when that battery just stops holding a charge altogether with the 400 cycle charges that they are saying it has what then? Is there a replaceable battery do you have to send it in to get the battery replaced will it even be worth it at that point you just throw it away and buy another one?
I don't think there will be an easy way to replace it... But there is no battery that is irreplaceable 🙃
thank you goog video 👍👍👍 i have new dji osmo poket 👍 and hi for finland 🇫🇴🇫🇴🇫🇴🇫🇴🇫🇴
Hello 👋 Wow! A country I've always wanted to visit. Warmest regards to Finland!
Tech4All thanks and if you ever get to visit finland then contact me by email and here the youtube information section has my email address so i could serve as a guide to show different places in finland. Nothing compared to the Sony FDR X3000. I owned both. Sold the DJI Osmo Pocket within days.
Yeah... one of these iconic devices.
I tried the osmo pocket and my sony x3000 on a motorbike ride through town last night. The footage of the x3000 turned out to be so much better, especially the audio.
@@FloriTravels so true!! People think latest is greatest but this is not true.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TIMELAPSE, HYPERLAPSE AND MOTIONLAPSE?
Timelapse is the most basic one - the camera is in still condition, and captures a frame every few seconds (usually choices are between 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, etc).
Hyperlapse - same thing, but you move the camera with you - like recording a timelapse while you are walking.
Motionlapse is a mode initiated by the camera - it is another variation of timelapse, where the gimbal slowly turns the lens to a certain degree.
Can you adjust the focus manually by tapping on the screen where you want it to focus?
I would mostly like to use it for vlogging, but if it will not focus on my face most of the time it is useless...
Yes, this is supported and with the latest firmware updates works pretty well.
Long videos come recorded in one file or it will be splited every 15 minutes?
The video length depends not on the camera, but on the card and file system. Fat32's limitation is 4GB.
Latest firmware adds phase detection
I am planning to get one before spring break
Sounds like you are getting it for the best time of the year for filming 😇

Great review positives and negatives!
Thanks John!
Really liked your review, thank you very much. What would your recommendation be for shooting dance social videos? I am undecided whether I should go for something compact like the osmo pocket or invest in a camera stabiliser. I currently have a Sony NEX 5 with a portrait lens that gives me lovely whimiscal footage of dancers, but terrible at focusing on fast dance movements. Any help would be absolutely welcome :)
If you find the NEX camera slow at autofocusing, then likely the Osmo Pocket will be slow too. And honestly - quite difficult to operate with the focus with the small display- meaning that you better use a smartphone;
If you have an iphone or an Android device with rather good camera, getting a smartphone gimbal is a good idea. Your shooting environment is quite challenging, I'm sorry that I can't give you a "magic pill" 😕
@@TechMishka thank you so much for your help :) very kind of you. I think I will have to try it out and see what works best.
Great review. Very useful.
Thanks Frederick!
Tnx 4 this review. It helped me to choose
Most welcome! One of the devices I still use a lot these days.
Hi, thanks for video, how did u connect external mic to osmo and which mic
There is a dedicated adapter - which costs around $30; The Mic that I use is Aputute A.Lav.
Hi! great video! Do you know if we can lock the Exposure on the Osmo Pocket (without connection to the smartphone app)? Such that when we move from place to place, the exposure doesn't change and look amateurish? Would appreciate some help. Thanks!
Yes, you can do that. there's an option to activate the pro mode from the settings - and you can control shutter speed and iso. Very useful if you shoot with filters.
Shutter speed problem been mentioned in an other review, the problem been fixed with the same ND filter you bought. I hate ALL Osmo Pocker reviews, since they don't talking about battery time and do not telling, that there IS AN OPTION to charge pocket until use. DJI recommend to fully charge the battery before, but YOU CAN DO IT. Why do don't reflect on this one? Battery life is the most important by use and it's have a built-in one, which means, if there is no option like this, than you could buy a second camera just because of JUICE. The charging time is 73 Minutes.
I have an eye from video clip maker, so I going to be fine with 140 Mintues on 1080p. But what if I want 4k? And here again: for me, who not going to record my whole travel, maybe it's even enough. But always good to know, what, if not. The USB-C connector is promising! With a better power bank, you are good to go. But alltogother, I just prefer to be free and exchange sometimes my flat one with a fully charged. Old generation been able to do that. I'm VERY confused to sell my Pro set, WITH focus wheel, external mic (without extra acc.), bigger sensor, option to attach to car, to exchange lens, to zoom with, to have a bigger depth of field and the ability to shoot in dark, with way higher ISO, Pocket get noisy easily.
True that - the charging feature is great, and something we don't have with the GoPro.
It is subjective to say about battery life, as almost noone will press the record button and leave the cam for an hour. It is more about frequent starts and stops.
Quite a nice and helpful opinion, thank you very much!
@@TechMishka U R Welcome :))
Wait. If you're putting a magnet on that, how good is the shielding for the processor and other circuitry?
Has to be good enough, based on the many months of usage already.
I just remember the early cell phone days and sales folk lying to us about how those magnetically closing phone cases didn't effect battery life in the flip phones. So I always ask this question lol
Sofia! I knew I recognized that ski/snow area before you cut to
Vitosha
I feels like contrast and brightness is bit low on vidoes looks like. Is right. How about action pro 8. Which is better device.
You mean GoPro Hero 8? Both are great; Major difference is that the Osmo Pocket can focus, and achieve shallow depth of field.
Nice review! What light did you use to record your narrative? Your face is not quite tack sharp, whilst the signs in the background are. I'm thinking that it's motion blur instead of an autofocus issue, since I can also see some noise in the skin of your face. So I'm kind of hoping that you shot this in low light or with an ND filter at a slow shutter speed.
If not, I'm not going to buy the Osmo Pocket since my smartphones are much sharper in 4K.
The light was a mixture between natural daylight and some additional studio lighting but overall the room was bright. It was recorded on purpose with the Osmo Pocket, and I have used no filters, and the setting were set to Auto. Most likely it picked higher ISO and therefore the noise is better visible. But I also was disappointed to see the background much sharper, although the face tracking was actually working. Likely this will get better in time with new firmware, but the noise and grain - likely to stay 🧐
Amazing audio
Glad you like it 😇 Ever since the audio adapter is released, the device is great for vlogging.
Excellent review, well done.
Thank you Barnacle! 😎
Hi Tech4All, We are new travel vloggers and we are planning to buy camera but confused between Go Pro 7 or Dji Osmo Pocket? Any suggestions would be much appreciated 👍
Hey, good luck with your vlog, and may you create tons of great content.
Both are great, and both of them have awesome features.
GoPro is designed for action - so if you plan diving, filming in areas where you may need water-resistant device - it is brilliant.
Osmo Pocket is more cinematic. Needs some time to get used to;
With my kind of shooting I rely on the GoPro more often.
@@TechMishka awesome mate.. thanks for suggesting.
Great video, thanks! So, I am going to a trade show. There will be lots of noise, flashing lights, etc, all indoors. What accessories do you recommend to use to record interviews? What about filters?
Easiest way is to use a shotgun mic - like the videomicro from Rode - point to the person speaking and it will get the sound primarily from there.
You may find accessories that will allow you to connect it. Note that you need to get DJIs proprietary microphone adapter;
As for filters - if you haven't used filters before, you will be better off them. If the exhibition is indoors, then light will be fine and won't need filters that much.
I've got mine 3 months ago.nice for photoshoot
Enjoy using yours! 😊
@@TechMishka thanks,,
Thanks for a great video, best wishes from Poland to Bulgaria :)
Yooo, thank you so much! Warmest regards back to Poland 😇
@@TechMishka how can I get any of those "unoffcial" accesories for Osmo Pocket? I would like to mount it like you did.
@@Elbinger I have ordered these from Aliexpress - the links to all of them are in the description of the video.
@@TechMishka Ok, right, Благодаря! ;)
Would anyone recommend this for someone who's had a stroke and only has one usable arm/hand? My Dad lost the ability in his right arm and his DSLR is setup for right-handed users, not to mention very heavy. While I know this doesn't have the same optical zoom properties as a DSLR, would this be good for someone who'd just be happy being able to take pictures again?
Yeah, it is great of one-hand operation. Easy to get used to, and easy to operate. Hope your dad will get better in time, mate!
@@TechMishka thanks mate, appreciate that.
Thank you nice video helped me a lot.
I am so glad to hear that.
Is it worth to buy in 2020...plan to get one..
Yeah, it is still worth the money. Some rumors about a new generation are flowing lately, but ... DJI - rather unpredictable.
Thanks for the review.
Most welcome, Gilbert.
Nice review bro. Thank you🙂
My pleasure!
Great review, looking for a smaller version than my current setup of Sony 6300 and gimbal, what mic can you use on the osmo pocket???
Currently - none. I believe the external mic functionality is disabled on a firmware level. Hopefully DJI will announce and release it in the coming weeks.
Hi Mike, did you get the audio from the Osmo thru a lavalier? How?
Hi! I was hoping that by finalizing the review, DJI would have finally released the conversion officially. Unfortunately we have to wait more :(
I saw pancharevo lake, nice work I wonder wheter to buy it :)
Yup, pancharevo lake it was. If you haven't bought it yet - hang on for a while - there are a few new models coming out, and hopefully a new Pocket device.
Hello there. I have a question. Is this device waterproof? I mean can we use it uder water and how much it can stand under water?(less 5m or more)
It is not; There is a waterproof case however, so you can get one.
Thank you ! Beautiful review, very thorough and full of examples ! Congratulations!
Thank you Camil - I very highly appreciate when people stop by just to say something nice.
Do u think it Good camera including microphone and headphones 🎧
It is a great camera. For external mic - you need to purchase extra adapter though.
@@TechMishka what it's different between DJI osmo and Canon M50 ii
how did you record the sound in this video? And how would you rate the audio on the DJI Osmo?
I used an external Lav Mic;
The embedded mic of the Osmo Action is fine, the option for external is even better. So I like it! 🙂
really like the review, thanks for sharing your experience of using the camera. i'm planing to get one for my upcoming trips to korea and the states, i own a sony x3000r but i think the fact that the monitor does not attach to the camera itself really bothers me, and the battery runs out super quick. How long can the osmo battery run for? and is the auto-focus function really that bad? i know the tracking might take some time, but seems still acceptable to me.
The tracking is actually better than the auto-focus. I think you will like the Osmo Pocket - quite a nice device. Battery life is lovely - I'd say better than on a GoPro.
Tech4All thank you so much for your reply!
@@iamwingxd Most welcome!
Great review thanks man!
Most welcome! Thanks a lot for stopping by to say a good word! 👍😎
Is it easy to use? I have a GoPro and I gave it to my son because it was difficult to use
Hmm, if the GoPro is difficult to use, this one may be even more difficult. Which generation of GoPro do you have?
Plan to buy one. New vlogger here. Please advise if the audio is okay. Thanks
Yes, audio is fine, you will just need to get used to not putting your hand on top of the mic holes.
Also - you may try the external microphone.
beginner's question in video. do you think that this could replace the purchase of a device like a sony a6300 (if we put aside the fact that there is no interchangeable lens) just in video quality?
Not beginner question at all! 😎 Well - the sensor is much smaller - and I have intentionally shot the studio part with it - you can notice the amount of noise.
In low light conditions - not at all. On a bright day - yes, it can be very good. You won't be able to get the same bokeh, but it will do the job right. And the bitrate in 4K is unbelievable.
What was that city street at night in the beginning? Is it Frankfurt?
It is Vitoshka street in Sofia, Bulgaria. Soon or later I may add Frankfurt 👍😎
@@TechMishka cool :) I've traveled much of the Balkans but haven't seen Bulgaria yet. I'd visit where you shot then make my way to Bansko. I just bought the pocket last week! Hard to find here in Ukraine.
Just want to know when can be in stock....
also, when can I expect accessories?
Which one to be in stock? The Osmo Mobile? I cannot recall a moment when it wasn't. Check the DJI store or Amazon.
It's still the great camera in 2022
Hiya! Which device did you use to video edit a 4k30 resolution? Is it possible to use a mobile phone or does it require a good laptop?
Any kind of 4K is tough to edit. Even high performance video card like Nvidia 1050 won't easily handle editing 4K. So using a mobile phone won't do the job.
Great review of Osmo Pocket, Covering everything. Ideal for places where DJI present as well physical stores / retail channel in case of DOA.
Let's hope there will be less and less DOA devices. Ever since you mentioned about the issues, and also pointed to the firmware upgrade issues, I am always having this feeling of checking whether everything is fine or not 😇😎
In fact after D-Cinelike is there - you can feel a serious boost in color-grading capabilities. That is perhaps the most remarkable upgrade so far.
