Hey so there were other totals online of how to do it but, the only way you could add the heart is when your in the middle of making the top. So you can’t add the heart when your top is done. Sorry
You could actually get some thicker yarn in the same color and embroider the heart! It wouln't look exactly the same but you could still make it look like a heart

How much yarn should I buy for the entire top?
i only used less than one skein of yarn but it would depend on how thick the yarn is but usually just buy one skein
I used around 300m of yarn!
