True story: Chris was studying to be an Engineer but decided to move to Nashville and give Songwriting a try. In the Studio where he wrote he came across this lady who also was a songwriter. Chris remembers that one night, not much songwriting got done between the two but something else got done if you catch my drift. They've been together ever since. She is not only part of his creative process but she was the one who convinced him to get in front of the mic and I am glad she pushed him. He is very shy and gets stage fright and often he won't perform if she is not with him on tour or even up on stage with him.
He is quiet a little shy but he has never had stagefright. That is internet B.S. They have children. He has performed many, many times when she couldn't be there because motherhood took priority. He was singing with the Steeldrivers before they met.
You should hear her singing lead with Chris singing backup. They do "You are my sunshine" and it's goosebump inducing.
My husband and I spent 25 years in greater Seattle. Then in our 40’s decided it was time to escape and left everything we knew to move to NE Tennessee to be with my family. I feel this song on such a deep level. ❤
MY wife and I did the same thing. Born and raised in San Diego we left when I was 36, my wife was 40 back in September of 2000. We went to the Nashville area and never looked back!
Chris Stapleton made a song called Daddy doesn't pray anymore it was in Yellowstone it was fantastic and then I went and listened to the whole song highly recommended
His NPR Tiny Desk series is a must, just him, guitar and Morgane. Miranda Lambert did a good stand in for Morgane in a CMA performance of Maggie.
Country has many facets!! There is no way to pigeonhole ANY Country artist.They could have excelled in any genre.
It's really interesting to watch his interviews. He is such a humble guy and gives his wife all the credit for what he does. There are several interviews with the both of them and they talk about the teamwork of making the music. I keep seeing mentions that he has stage fright, but have never been able to find comments to show that to be true. I did hear him say in an interview that he enjoys performing and he did comment in an interview with Kix
Brooks that on nights that he just isn't feeling it vocally, that he looks at Morgane and draws strength from her.

Four summers ago, I lost my son, and I caught this song one evening. I live in Kentucky, where Chris is from. I listened to it and dropped a comment about how Ben had really liked Chris's music, and how that I was going to have to start over, but didnt know how. In true Chris Stapelton fashion, he responded back. I saved that message, that to me spells out exactly who this man is. Bless him.
My son bought me Chris Stapleton/George Strait tix for July in Nashville for Christmas I'm so excited to see him live. He is just as good or better live than he is on the road. You may have seen her while pregnant with one of their two sets of twins. She does look different here.

Britt- Starting Over is one of my fav Chris Stapleton songs. I was able to see him in concert in 2021. He put on a hell of a show.
They do a really beautiful version of You Are My Sunshine. VERY different from the way I think we've all grown up singing and hearing it. I absolutely love it.
He sang "Just say I'm sorry" with Pink. Later she did an interview and stated that Chris was a "two take wonder".

This is a cool presentation. Watching the making of a hit and the kind of socializing, collaborating, conversations they have in a session just throwing it together so casually. It's what they do and they are very good. You can tell Chris thinks deeply about things in life and he can build a great song around such simple phrases and principals. A true artist and master at his craft.

Love the authenticity of your reactions. His wife is Morgane and apparently is an integral part his musical process (for lack of better way to describe it). I have seen some interviews where they jointly speak to this issue. Interesting...and they also find time to raise 5 kids. (Applause!!!) P.S. He currently collaborates with a wonderful young singer/songwriter Joy Oladokun on a duet called "Sweet Symphony", which she wrote. It is a wonderful R &B kind of feel, and the two voices together make you "sit up and listen"...at least for me. A couple of different versions of video/song are on RUclips. ✌️

Chris Stapleton’s Traveller debut album (which he co-produced with Dave Cobb) had received its 13th platinum certification from the RIAA the last I knew.
As a highly acclaimed songwriter, Chris has penned over 190 album cuts for other artists. He wrote or co-wrote all but two of Traveller’s 14 tracks. I recommend this live version of the title song from that first album… as much for the captions that tell some of his story… as for the excellent quality and intimacy of the performance by Chris & Morgane.

The title track of that debut solo album (Traveller) was inspired by some soul-searching in the desert. "My father passed away in October 2013, and [I] had a single die around the same time on radio, so I needed a little head clearing space," he recalled.
