This is a great tutorial and it looks super easy... having said that, it didn't work for me, I tried it 3 x. I used to different clips from 2 different devices, iPhone Xs and GoPro 8 which I recorded upside down as I was cycling and in Final Cut I rotated the clip. Would that be the problem ? The iPhone X clip split saved but not the GoPro clip.

Wow this is overly complicated. I never understood why some functions are so easy in imovie yet so over complex in FCPX. In imovie the user only needs to select the function for split screen. Everything is damn time consuming n FCPX, makes me hate it at times. Thx for vid though. I'll watch it another day - for now I'll just plop the b-roll on top of the A roll then transform and crop it in place. This is just too much to learn when I have a project due in 20 minutes, ugh:-(

I agree! Wish everything followed the KISS method, KEEP IT STUPID SIMPLE. I strived to keep it as simple as possible but if i find an easier way i will update ya.

I think I did something wrong, I got up to after making the compound clip and pressing v again over the other clips, but when I slide to the left/right instead of it revealing my other video, it's just another black custom screen sliding across, please help lol

Excellent, simple video, great job man. Could you explain why is it that when I try to put Dissolve (transition) to the two videos, at the top one it works perfectly, but on the bottom ones, it does not. Why is that?? I placed the Dissolve to both start and end of both videos, but it only works with the top one. I cant figure out why. cheers

If you recorded a video on your iPhone widescreen does the same apply? I’ve been following your steps and they are straight forward and easy but I don’t have a full screen on my videos first because it’s on 2 angles and I tried the standard view finder so I can be able to do split screen and it’s just not happening for me.
