I've seen Dwight 12 times my first time was Buenas Noches Tour with Buck Owens and Flaco Jim'enez my last was the Swimming Pool's and Movie Stars. Hands down one of the best entertainers you will see. When he starts touring again go see him you won't be disappointed

Dwight Yoakam is so incredibly gifted I don't understand why he didn't go bigger but I'm proud of him for staying true to his roots.
It's the damn radio stations that won't play his music! Dwight did his own thing, the way he wanted to and it pissed some people off! He is such an amazingly talented man in so very many ways! He's the real deal, the whole package!

Johnny Cash called him the best singer he'd ever heard. How much bigger can one go?
He's had a 40 year career playing 'real' film roles where he actually acts, sold millions of records, appeared on the Tonight Show more than any other musical act, and still has the pipes at 60 to knock it out of the park. I think the reason he has so many dedicated fans is that he didn't go "bigger" and kind of flies below the radar (as much as any platinum-selling artist and prolific film actor can.) "Bigger" would have been Garth Brooks and Garth couldn't carry Dwight's biscuit tin.
Bad music videos and shacking up with Sharon Stone are not the best career moves. But frankly, he seems to prefer live audiences and smaller venues and fairs.
Not only is DY the best classic country music musician and singer, he's also the best chair dancer alive. LOL.
