I love the fact that Dwight Yoakam pays tribute to those gone before they made country so great. He’s definitely one of them.❤ the man is the music treasure.😊☮️
He takes all the old standards that you knew and made them all his own. What a performance! Plus, those moves don't hurt a bit!! You don't see too many country stars baring themselves with changing music of the great oldies, and putting his moves in on top of it. A real showman! It took me a while to give up the oldies, but he just adds so much life to the songs. He times them perfectly, the dance added in for drooling as he lets his voice break into that whining "hook" at the end. It just doesn't get better than that. That's a lot of performing on the side of a good song, but it seems not to tire him. An easy slider.
Dwight Baby.... seen him 4 times in 2019 and going to his shows in Jan. & Feb. 2020!!! Besides 2 number 1 hits... 13 top 10 hits... 5 gold albums & 6 platinum albums... he's the country artist with that "back hollar" Kentucky voice which Johnny Cash called the greatest voice in country music!!!!
Hopefully things return to normal soon and you can make that happen. I've probably seen Dwight play live 13 times over the years, and got to hang out with him back stage once a few years ago. Awesome dude, and amazing live.
@@rickdeweese6608 What's he like in person? He seems like a nice guy with a great sense of humor. I was going to get the VIP package last time he was in town but I've always heard "don't meet your heroes"
The best...absolutely the best! If Dwight ever stops singing we’ll lose the best of country music. Thank God that he doesn’t look ready to quit any time soon!
I understand the excitement of being at a concert but I am always amazed at the rudeness of people while the artist is trying to talk and they're screaming and shouting things at them. He managed to ignore that and keep talking, I couldn't do that. I'd be listening to it and have to start my story over cuz I would forget where I was. Then I'd get mad and everyone would be in trouble. LOL
Coolest guy in country music. Hands down. Dwight can make any song his own. Wish I could rewind the clock and go back and see him in the late 80’s and 90’s.
OMG that harmony vocal in the chorus sends all the right kind of chills up my spine, what a great rendition. Although I still like the faster one he was doing a few years ago live (see the Imus show)
Totally Amazing and Absolutely Adorable - Seen him New Braunsfel, Texas in April and now Going in August at the Rialto in Joliet. Would follow him Anywhere!!!
I love when Dwight gets mad. That intro wasn't what he wanted and you could see it when he turned around and then mouthed a couple words. I had the privilege of opening for him at HoB Cleveland in 2005 and they screwed up the intro to the opening number. I sat stage side and watched. He was not happy at all. He demands excellence on stage. Amazing talent.
I use to keep up with the musicians he had like Eddie who's with the Mavericks now, but I like these youngsters but don't know who they are. Do you know them by chance?
I haven't heard him sing crazy little thing called love...for a while He's an incredible artist...we are blessed he is getting better with age..if that's even possible..
I saw them him with this band a few months after this in Atlanta. Dwight is a pro, you have nights where things don't go right, but he always puts on a great show. As for Eugene, he is great! I don't think I have ever seen anyone look like they had more fun playing guitar.
+naughtmoses The first time I heard Dwight Yoakum, was back in the 80's.Pete's guitar was the first thing that caught my ear,and not Dwight's vocals, although I liked him and this new more powerful sound from the West Coast.I had to learn every thing they were doing.I used a cassette deck with a speed control to slow down some of the fast runs Pete would play.It was a great time in my development years as a country guitar player.
Eugene is amazing and to his credit plays Pete's leads verbatim! Saw them in Athens last month, my first to see him having been a fan since the early late 80's. They were amazing. Band was pristine, Dwight's vocals were spot on. Not sure what seemed to tick DY in this vid, but things appeared all good performing. Wish my mess ups ended up so well.
I really like his interpretation of "the ring of fire", his changes in the mainstream known melody are spot on, the slow, lazy -like-rock is very appealing, with his "Bang a gong get it on" intro. All in all very attractive. So sorry he passed away recently.

I was there and he was worth waiting for. What a show! Giddy-up!

I respect the comment but Dwight knows his fans is happy to see him
Saw him live at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg! Great live music!
I was at the same show I think. January 2017?
LOve your music, your a very humble and honest guy!! Keep on playing.
Coolest guy in country music. Hands down. Dwight can make any song his own. Wish I could rewind the clock and go back and see him in the late 80’s and 90’s.
Pretty sure he’s still touring
My husband saw him in early 90’s and loved it. I never saw him, dagnabit!

That's one cool cowboy.
Awesome sound, ese. Dwight's young band members keep the music fresh. Lead guitar dude adds rock riffs.
Eugene Edwards is his name, he is fantastic.

Christopher Samuelson Who is Eugene
dodoproductions14 Eugene plays lead guitar
Christopher Samuelson My fave was Pete Anderson, but Pete was making more money producing, and that's a lot easier than touring, so...
