The day we lost Merle was one of the lowest points of my life. He was my idle, my story & my life from the age of 15 to this very day (67). Couldn’t tell u how many times I was there at his concerts but they were all special!!!

Noel has his own voice, but he has a speech pattern exactly like Merle's. These guys do an excellent job of interpreting their Dad's great songs. Kudos to the Haggard progeny.
I listen to this about every 6 months or so I have to say again, this version with Ben is one of the most soothing and calming pieces of music ever recorded and the instrumental break after the vocal is the smoothest, most melodic performance I have ever heard !!
Merle had a unique voice that separated him from most country stars. He was a helluva sing writer and his guitar playing was underappreciated. He had it all and I miss him greatly.
I agree that the late great Merle Haggard was a great Singer and has written some outstanding songs Mama Tried and Okie From Muskogee two highlights . Some credit must be given tho to the other writers who gave him thier songs Particularly The Fugitive which is a lyrical masterpiece .
Noel to me seems to have inherited his dads singing expression ..contol of breath etc. They are all stunning..all so tallented and resemble Merle so closely. Just love them ❤

I just love listening to this set!! Just stumbled on it. Noel and Ben are fantastic singers. The steel and acoustic guitars and the fiddle really bring out the emotion. Just wish Marty would get up there and sing with his brothers!

Each of the sons has their own unique way of sound, like their dad. I will never get over the loss of my favorite, Merle. We now have his body of work and his sons. How awesome. Capps is also awesome.
The day we lost Merle was one of the lowest points of my life. He was my idle, my story & my life from the age of 15 to this very day (67). Couldn’t tell u how many times I was there at his concerts but they were all special!!!

I reccomend you listen to 40s-80s country, you probably like country music, just not this beer drink women shit that they call country. Old country was and still is beautiful
And if you like this type id reccomend listing to merle haggard, marty robbins, hank williams sr, glenn campbell, mel tillis, and some george jones and waylon jennings. You might just like country music more than you think if you give it a chance, also try "amarillo by morning" by george strait.

Amarillo by Morning and The Chair are my two favorite George Strait songs. But Fool Hearted Memory is a close third.

Merle had a unique voice that separated him from most country stars. He was a helluva sing writer and his guitar playing was underappreciated. He had it all and I miss him greatly.

I think Merrell hagar boys are great! They are up there with Keith Whitely and Ben is great on his dad's old fender God I wish I had that guitar I have been playing music since I was 10 years old some of the first songs I learned was Merrell hagar he is one of my favorite artists I did get see him and gorge Jones in Winston-Salem in the 80s they were great!thankful you can keep the memories of your dad's music I really love to hear it and try to play it also Timmy Ray Green keep up the great work yall doing
