    Nice top view of the battle belt. Does Esstac offer a dump bag or other pouch for stashing other type of kit? When my sugar baby goes to the range I like to have something extra besides hearing protection when she is in her sun dress if you know what I mean.

      It does look like they sell some mag bags, med pouches, chest rigs, and plate carriers as well. Those would keep whatever you need... No matter what it is... 👀

    If you put a blow dryer to the inserts it will ease up the retention a bit.

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад

      That’s right, a little heat usually does the trick. A blow dryer is probably the safest way to do that, don’t want to burn things for sure.

    These pouches look awesome thanks! I have one question though: will the dimples on Surefeed E2 metal magazines damage the kydex upon insertion and withdrawal? Thanks again

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад

      I haven’t used these mags so I can’t say for sure but I wouldn’t think it would be a huge issue. Sure you might see some markings where the dimples are after a lot of use, but once they wear in it shouldn’t continue. I wouldn’t be too concerned.

    What size belt clips should i get, i have a 1.5inch emissary belt from ciguera gear and unsure of what to get as far as how to attach them to my belt. Thanks!

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад +2

      Since they don't offer any 1.5" loops, go with the 1.75" belt loops for the mounting option for the Emissary belt. On Esstac's website, they actually say the 1.75" loops are what they recommend for 1.5" belts.
      Hope that helps!

    Do they come with the attachment to the belt or do you need to buy your own mallace clips

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +1

      You will need to purchase your own, but several companies who sell the estaccs will have an option to add on Malice clips. Good question!

    Would the shorty versions of the 556 pouches be needed for a 20 round pmag, or any size works?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +1

      The shorties would be better, but the 20 rounders fit almost flush with the regular. It still works, but there is less to grab!

  • @SaylerT
    @SaylerT 2 года назад +2

    I could see the +1 option being useful on a plate carrier. Navy Cat III shoots involve more than 2 mags, and I like having a bit of an offset because we use single point slings (much to my chagrin).

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  4 года назад +1

      Hey miniwaggie! These don't have much give. The retention is from the kydex insert. These pistol inserts are for 9mm/40 doublestack mags. 1911 mags can fit too, but retention is a little looser. I don't know if the Deagle mags will fit, but we aren't for sure.

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад +1

      Hey Ajeje Brazorf! The double glock mag in this video is not connected to the M4 mag, but I'm pretty sure you can get some from estacc that are combined! You could probably secure it on if you have the carrier with the MOLLE webbing, but we don't recommend that!

    How is the retention on these? Acceptable for LEO to run on a chest rig?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад +2

      The retention is very good. When you first get them, they may be really tight on some mags, but they break in and loosen up! Some guys even use a hairdryer to heat up the kydex inserts, but we haven't had to do that. The retention is really solid.

    I’m thinking about getting mag extensions for my G19 to help reload speed. How do you like your TTI extension?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  4 года назад +2

      We love the Taran Tactical extensions. Extra ammo in the mag is never a bad thing. We haven't had any feeding problems with the mags after putting the extension on either. The extra length on the mags doesn't make a huge difference for CCW either and gives you something extra to grab during reloads.

    Will the normal pistol mags hold single stacked glock mags???

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад +1

      Great question! So single stack mags will fit in these, but since these are double stack mag pouches, the retention is not great on single stack mags. The height of the single stack mag is also important. 15 round double stacks are the shortest you want to go with these, which are about 5 inches. Depending on the length of the single stack mag, it may be too short.
      Esstac makes single stack mags too! They are called the 1911 mags, but they fit single stack mags. Not for sure on the length for those mags though.
      Hope that helps!

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад +1

      Not very loud, but probably not as quiet as a nylon mag holder. Typically in a self defense situation, if you have to reload, stealth wouldn’t be an option anymore. Good question though!

    Would you do mid length for AR pouch

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  Год назад

      I use the shortest pouches for any mags. If they were stored somewhere where they’d be more prone to falling out, and quick access is less of a priority, mid length would work out fine.

    • @RangeDay

    I'm picky as hell, and went with the shorty kywi for 556 chest rig... nope. A loaded 30rd center of balance is so much higher than the rim of the pouch, there's just not enough realestate interfacing with my kit - mags want to flip forward and away.
    Maybe I'll try the midlength.

    • @RangeDay

      Great detailed up close video so we can really see the product. I did watch trex make similar video he mentioned use hair dryer couple minutes in 556 mag pouches to loosen up then slap in magazine to kinda customize the fit and supposedly easier to release. I’m thinking about ordering direct from esstac do I need to specify add belt clips you have on yours? I think they only come with malice clips... thanks

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  4 года назад +2

      @@johnnycash3755 Glad you liked the video! The 556 mags are really snug, especially with metal mags for whatever reason. We may have to hair dry some of the new KYWIs.
      When you order from Estacc, you will have to specify belt loops or whatever method you choose to secure your KYWIs. We know TRex sends them to you with Malice Clips included.

    What kind of attachment type should I get ?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  3 года назад

      Hey Squidy, thanks for the question! The attachment type depends on what belt setup you have. Most dedicated double war belts use MOLLE attachment methods and malice clips or some other MOLLE/PALS compatible system would be what you need.
      If you want to use the pouches with more of an EDC belt, like something from Kore or Nexbelt, the belt loop clips are the ticket. These will thread over your belt each time you want to use them.
