🕊Dear Ms. Fernanda thanks a lot for this great video🙏🏼 Could you please explain more about the fragrance; growing condititions that boost the fragrance, which ones of your NoID Cymbidiums are fragrant? Have a healthy, happy winter🤗🙏🏼☮️🕊💚🙋🏻♀️
Hello and thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated ❤️ My most fragrant Cymbidium is the solid Yellow one. The scent is sweet but mild. My Cymbidium are all hybrids but I heard that most species are fragrant although they are also more difficult to grow in cultivation. From my experience the cooler the better colors they get but I am not sure if the same happens with the fragrance. Have a wonderful New year ❤❤❤
Hi Fernanda great care video loads of beautiful blooms they are defo putting on a show for you plus they look so healthy and happy would love to see a repot video on them Fernanda great job 👍😘
Hi Stephen, thank you so very much for your kind words 🙏. Cymbidium are the easiest orchids I have, they really do well in my environment. I will make a repotting vídeo as soon as blooming is done. Have a great rest of the day and thank very much for your support 🤩❤️
Hi Marium, thank you very much for commenting 🙏💖. I will make the Cymbidium repotting but we have to wait till the blooming finishes. I like repottings too and I agree, it's relaxing to watch 😃💖
Hi Thomas, thank you very much for watching and commenting, much appreciated ❤️. I had no idea, I hope Cymbidium get more easily available in the near future 😍
This is cymbidium central 😍 your's are just marvellous and I have always loved your collection. I know you are still looking for a dark colored blooming cymbidium and I have always been looking for one that I could possibly gift you. Your displays are a sight ... a beautiful sight 😍 thank you so much for doing this video.... I cannot express how much I love all your cymbidiums and the beautiful way you grow them! Perfection 👌🏼🤩❤
Oh, thank you so much for your wonderful comment 🙏❤️ and kind words !!! My Cymbidium grow by themselves, I hardly give them any special care. I think they just love the place 😃. Please, please, do not spend your euros on a Cymbidium for me. The thing is, the dark coloured red wine type are super expensive and coming to think of it, it' s a steel. I really appreciate the thought but I have so many already, I am quite happy with what I have. Thank you very much for your thought, really appreciate it 😍😘 And thank you for your friendship ❤️ much,.much love to you 😍🙏🤗

Hi Fernanda! I hope you and your family are keeping well! Your cymbidium are absolutely stunning! They make such a beautiful display on your porch. I love the different colors and combinations! It is wonderful that your environment suits them so well. I hope you have a lovely weekend! Take care! 😊🌵🌸💌
Hi Beverly, so good to hear from you.🙏 I am fine and I hope you do too, as well as your family 🙋 Cymbidium are good for me, they grow without much need for care. Some could do better if they got a couple of hours more of sun but we cannot get it all. Thank you very much dear Beverly, wish you a great evening and rest of the weekend ❤️😍🤗
You have beautiful Cymbidiums! They all look great! Thank you for all your care experience. I don't have luck with them. My environment is very humid and they rot. But I want to try again one day.
Hi Gia, thanks for commenting!!! Yes I agree that humidity can be detrimental for the good health of Cymbidium. Kepping mine away from the rain and getting afternoon sun has been good for mine. I hope you try again though and wish you great success 🥰💖
Oh my goodness!!!! So pretty 😍 ok. I am going to try that about warmer climates. I am done with my 2. I may keep and try one more time or just give them away. Giving them cooler water is going to be more work than I can do, but I will make an effort first. Thank you so much for sharing!! 😊😊👍
I hope it works for you. It is so frustrating when we try and try again and things don't change. Good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🍀. Thank you very Valarie for watching and for commenting, much appreciated ❤️😍
Thank you very much, Trish. I have learned with some mistakes along the way but they are very easy going for me. I was happy to share them and there are still a few things I would like to share some time after blooming time. I am glad you enjoyed. Hope you are already having a great day 💖🙏🥰
Obrigada 😍🤩
Hi, thank you so much for commenting, I appreciate your feed back. Among the many Cymbicium that I have, some have not bloomed this year either. They sometimes skip one year or two, that is when they do not feel strong enough to do it. However they should at least grow new shoots and if so, sooner or later, they will bloom. Good luck 💖💖💖
Hi Fernanda, great carecollab video! Love that sunshine on your garden. We haven't had sun for long time. Your cymbidiums are gorgeous, love that yellow one. Fernanda we have decided to have a holiday in Portugal in March. Can you please let me know what would the weather like in March usually? Thanks for sharing and happy growing. Do you have scented cymbidium? Please can you make video of your repotting your cymbidium?
Hi Mary!!! Thank you very much for your nice comment. I only have two that are fragrant. One is the large yellow one and the other is the orange colour. The others do not have a scent or it is very faint. I will make a repotting video when time comes, with a few more growing tips. I will also share my experience with repotting. I hope you will have good weather when you come on holiday to Portugal but I really cannot foresee what you will have because it can be very variable. First, it depends on which area you are coming to. If you are coming to the Algarve, you have more chances of warmer and sunnier days than if you are coming to the northern part of the country. However weather is very unpredictable even in gthe south. For instance this year we are having a lot more sun than we had last year, with only a few weeks of rain.We can have nice weather for a long time and then a week of rain. March is sometimes very warm, other years it can be on the cool side. I hope you get the best of it, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞🍀🍀
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Thanks Fernanda for the thorough reply. I will be checking the weather forecast websites but I thought I should ask someone who lives there and whenever I think of Portugal , I think of you. Have a lovely week.
Oooh my my those are gorgeous beautiful cymbidium 💕💕💞💞💞 . And great info 😊 . I live in a country just right below Brasil 🙂 . These are unique orchids in my home town I have 3 of the same one but have never bloomed hope soon cuz I have watched twice your video to learn something of it ☺ .TFS 💞
Hola MellMiya, Thank you very much for watching and commenting. I loved to know you also grow Cymbidium. I hope they bloom for you next season. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🤞🍀. Good luck y saludos de Portugal 🤩❤️
Yes, this one always starts early, she must be in a sheltered position. The birds love it when it is in full leafy mode, hundreds of them come to sleep in its branches 😂😂
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids 😁 We had doves in the tree last year they raised at least five nests and they don't let any other birds near so no flocks of noise makers
Thanks for a great video, Fernanda, I learned quite a lot from it. I had a bad year with mine. I thought I had a good idea why before but now I think another box has been ticked. I have always put them outside after the risk of frost is over but, with the British "summer", they were often wet through rainfall and I wasn't sure if watering them with orchid fertiliser would do much good so didn't. Last year I added some pelleted fertiliser in the hope this would do the job and I put them in a different part of the garden, under a tree, where they would get dappled shade instead of the three or four hours of afternoon sunshine they'd got other years. I made that move to try and slow down the rate of drying while we had a few days away. Since I brought them inside and they are getting fed regularly they are growing much better so I think they've been short of food.
I am glad to share my experience with these. I guess we loose a lot of time with try and error but that is the only way sometimes. I am quite happy to have a good climate for Cymbidium, they pretty much grow on their own. That is way I can afford the luxury of having so many. I don't have the same luck with other types but that is the way it goes. I hope yours bloom in the near future. Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🍀 Thank you very much for your feed back and wish you a great rest of the week 💖💖💖
Beijinhos e obrigada 😍😘🤗
Love your cymbidium orchids... We have the same climate...We live in the northern part of the Philippines.. My problem is whenever I repot the pseudobulbs rots.
@@henriettafenelalongbuan8382 hi Henrietta!! It has happened to me too. Now, when I repot I don't water for next couple of weeks. In case you divide them, you need a division with at least 4 pseudobulbs to make it go ahead. I hope it helped. Good luck and have a great week 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Hi Fernanda, I have one cymbidium, it’s a golden elf, it is still too small to flower but I expect that it will grow well this summer and that is all that I am asking of her. I will give it plenty of sun and leave it outside to enjoy the wind and cool nights. Thanks Fernanda for this interesting video.
Hello Andre, thank you for commenting and sharing about your Cymbidium. Golden elf is gorgeous!!!! I agree, the good health of a plant is essential and watching my plants grow well also gives me almost as much pleasure as the blooms. When your golden elf reaches maturity the blooming will be outstanding 🤩 ❤️
Hello 🙋♀️💖 I am glad you could save one of your Cymbidium. It proves it that they don't like too much rain. In the meantime (a more recent video) I planted several of my Cymbidium on the ground. Winter should be arriving soon with lots of rain and I hope they get by and do not rot on me. But thank you so much for your feed back. If I see we are getting too much rain I will get a cover for them 😍
Awesome video Fernanda, I owe my blooms on my cymbidium to you actually because I've mostly followed your lead with them but adapted it to my climate and growing conditions. And that Chen's Ruby I have has bloomed four times last season. Two big blooms with lots of spikes and smaller blooming with a couple spikes... I love it!
That is wonderful that I could help with my experience with Cymbidium as I have learned so much from you with other types of orchids. Your Cymbidium is fabulous, I love its colours and if I remember well from last year it also had large blooms!!!Happy day to you, Todd and thank you very much for your nice words, much appreciated 🙏💖🥰
Hello...FN. Those Cyimbidiums Orchids are truly Beautiful....i love your Cyimbidiums Orchids so much...Sp pretty...FN. My Species Cyimbidiums Orchids are beautiful and healthy on the Mango Tree...but 2 types of my hybird Cyimbidiums is unhealthy at the moment...so sad...😔 😔 😔 Shall l change the media...FN?. Thank you for sharing your lovely Cyimbidiums Orchids....FN. More kiss to your Cyimbidiums.. 😘 😘 😘... Best wishes..to you and yours...
Hello Zaleha, your climate must be much more appropriate to species than hybrids. Maybe too much rain? I know you have a lot of rain...If that is the case, try to give them a place where they don't get too much rain...they don't like too much water and the medium needs to have good drainage, maybe mixing some grit into your medium. Mine are drier during cooler season but I do not water much during summer, just enough to get some moisture in the soil. Please let me know if you need any further tips. Thank you very much my friend and hope you are having a great evening 🙏💖🥰
Thank you for watching and commenting 💐 My Cymbidium are doing well but I have had few blooms this year. The reason being, I planted most of them on the ground and they are still adapting to very different conditions. I hope that they will flower much better next year. Have a great day ❤️💕🌹🌹
Hi Fernanda. Your Cymbidium’s are absolutely beautiful. Please advise on a good meduim and fertiliser I could use. I am from South Africa. Would greatly appreciate it. Stay blessed ❤
Hello, thank you so much for watching my video. South África? Unless I am wrong your climate should be similar to what we get in southern Europe. The best médium to use will be one that, in your climate, will allow the roots to stay slightly moist during growing season but never soggy. During winter it should be drier. What I use is pine bark mixed with a bit of dirt and leca beads or grit for better aeration of the substrate. Sometimes I add some bonsai substrate if I have some. I use a fertilizer with all macro and micro nutrients. The best known brand over here is RainMix which is similar to the American MSU. As Cymbidium need more fertilizer than most orchids I also use some slow release fertilizer. My main fertilizer already includes calcium but still I suplement with calcium nitrate during growing season, which helps the structures to grow thicker and stronger. I hope this helped. If you need any further info, please let me know. Have a wonderful week 💐🌷💖
Those blooms are amazingly beautiful, I have regrets in dividing my cymbidium pseudo bulbs most did not survive I am left with a single pseudo bulb that has only a few leaves, I am interested for a few tips on propagations, it's a dream to see multiple spikes in a pot like yours.
Hi Primrose!!! I also did not succeed when I tried to divide them a few years back. I even lost a couple which I regret because I could not find the same anymore. They need at least 3 pseudobulbs to survive and do well in following years but even so they take several years to bloom again. So, now I let them grow and become specimen size and they look a lot nicer too. You will have to give yours time to grow and in the meantime enjoy the lovely arching leaves. They will look gorgeous in your jungle room. I will make another video with repotting and with other growing tips, when they finish blooming. It might take a while but I will do it. Thank you very much my friend 🥰💖🙏
Grazie
Ciao Anna!!!! Grazie e buon pomeriggio 💖
I Love all your SYMBIDIUMS ❤I am New to them by Accident! I saw this Amazing Beautiful plant and I Had to Have it. I took it home and thought oh this Needs repotting! Only to find out it was an Orchid! Now I am worried it may die 😢I was very gentle but I now know it shouldn’t have been repotted at this time😢 is there anything I can do to help it ? x
Hi Margi!!! Cymbidium are semi terrestrials and if as I think you bought a hybrid, you may not lose it. They are pretty resistant. Did you repot in dirt? No problem with Cymbidium. Keep the roots on the drier side if you are in the north Hemisphere and therefore coming into winter. Just wait and let it do its thing. I have not enough information from you to be able to provide further but please feel free to contact me again for more help. Good luck 🤞🤞❤️
In South California- Cymbidium like summer and winter . Cymbidium blooming in late December- early spring time . When Cymbidium bloom flowers I keep inside my patio… flowers lasting for months.
Hello, welcome to my channel!!! Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏 I live in Portugal, on the west coast. Cymbidium do well here. In the meantime I bought a few more and I have planted them on the ground under an Olive tree. I am showing them again this evening under the tree although they are not in bloom this time of the year. Have a wonderful day ❤️❤️❤️
I'm late to the party! I don't know how I missed the very one I've been waiting for! 🤩 These are all fantastic tips! Thank you for such a wonderful comprehensive cymbidium video! I wish I had a wonderful outdoor space with a nice climate like yours, I would buy so many more than what I have. Right now, I have about 6 - a mixture of warm and cool growers as I mentioned before - but I can't get enough of them! Fabulous video as always Fernanda, and YES to a repotting video ✨😍❤️🌸✨
Just a little bit late but very welcome ❤️🤩. I am happy that you enjoyed my video. You have a nice collection. I wish I had more too but good space for them under the porch is limited. I gave two away to my daughter already as they were similar to others I have. I already bought one replacement which means I still have place for one more but I will only buy if I find something special. I would love to have a dark wine colour but not only they are very expensive but also hard to find locally. I will wait 😃. And as soon as blooming is over I will make that repotting vídeo🙋. Thank you very much for being here, for your support and enthusiasm. Greatly appreciated. Happy weekend ❤️😍
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids A dark cymbidium would be really nice! I am looking for one as well, something with either a deep burgundy or brown color. I will probably wait until March or so when one of my favorite orchid nurseries near by has more in spike, and maybe I will do a video of some that I have in my collection so that you will be able to see a mixture of the warm and cool growers that bloomed between last year and now. I love your videos! They always bring me so much happiness because your growing environment is so peaceful and lush. Have a happy weekend Fernanda ❤️✨

Tenho um vídeo no canal My thoughts on fertilization caso queira dar uma espreitadela.
Agora continuo a usar o Rainmix.
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchidsI thought you were getting confused and meaning another genera than Zygopetalum, evoking it by mistake since they have similar growing conditions, but you're right... I did a little research and confirmed that there are indeed references that Cymbidiums can be crossed with Zygopetalums, creating Cymbipetalums! I'm dumbfounded, although I can't find a single photo of this intergeneric hybrid! :) Sorry, and thanks for such interesting tips!

Hi 🙋♀️ Cymbidium are terrestrial orchids and do better outdoors. However if indoors you can give them what they need I don't see whay not. They need direct sun at least 3 or 4 hours a day (avoid mid day sun). To bloom they require a significant drop in temperature at night during summer and winters should also be cool. These days Cymbidium that are warmer tolerant but still they need that drop in temeprature to be able to bloom. I hope it helped. Have a wonderful weekend 💖

Great information Fernanda. I learned quite a bit while enjoying your blooms ❤️🌸
Thank you very much, Trish. I have learned with some mistakes along the way but they are very easy going for me. I was happy to share them and there are still a few things I would like to share some time after blooming time. I am glad you enjoyed. Hope you are already having a great day 💖🙏🥰
Oi, Fernanda!
Obrigada 😍🤩
Oh my gosh! So many cymbidiums and so healthy and beautiful! I hv only one pot which bloomed last year but doing nothing after that. 😢
Obrigada e beijinhos 😙🙏❤️
Thank you for this video. It is good to hear how you care for them, I have a few cymbidiums, I intend to keep them as long as possible.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙏 Much appreciated ❤️❤️❤️
Your Magnolia is already in bud ! Mine (the neighbors) hasn't even started 😁
@@YnseSchaap 😍😄

My problem is whenever I repot the pseudobulbs rots.
@@henriettafenelalongbuan8382 hi Henrietta!! It has happened to me too. Now, when I repot I don't water for next couple of weeks. In case you divide them, you need a division with at least 4 pseudobulbs to make it go ahead. I hope it helped. Good luck and have a great week 🤩🤩🤩🤩
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Thank you for the tips. I will do it to the other cymbidiums...
By the way, what is your potting mix?
@@henriettafenelalongbuan8382 My potting mix is pine bark mixed with lecca beads, pumice and small stones for better aeration.
❤❤great n healthy Cymbidiums😊l lost 2 but, one is living tough now.l think, too much rain infected its roots😢

Tenho um vídeo no canal My thoughts on fertilization caso queira dar uma espreitadela.

Agora continuo a usar o Rainmix.

I actually didn't know they could be crossed with zygos, so interesting!

@@FernandaNascimentoOrchidsI thought you were getting confused and meaning another genera than Zygopetalum, evoking it by mistake since they have similar growing conditions, but you're right... Is cymbidium orchids can lives indoors
