Wow I looked at that comment and I thought I typed it. I'm 65 with arthritis and I don't know how to dance. This is the best music of all time......JMO PS: Are you from Chicago?
Well it was a combination of their brilliance and the Funk Brothers.....Andantes. Amazing R and B music. Diana's voice was like the violins and clarinets, and Mary, Flo, Cindy were like cellos. saxophones
Not only is this one of favorite supreme songs because of bassist james jameson magnificent recording, but this particular version is truly another Motown masterpiece.
The Supremes was the best ever female group with Diana Ross leading. Their hits remain forever. Lovely to hear the extended version here brings back best ever memories too.
I was 9 years old in the windy when this was released. I remember many older teen's jamming to this classic. A time when music was joyful and respectful, and as you listened, you felt good inside. Although I was not a teen, I was able to observe the deep effect this song and many other song's influenced teenagers. It was a different time with values, and that was reflected in songs of the 60's.
Jeff, I too was a mere child of 4 when this came out. My mother being just out of her teens at 20, played this album religiously when it came out. I remember the gold album cover. I'm from Da Chi too and the music coming at you from every angle was astounding. It was everywhere!
These black-and-white photos bring back memories of my childhood (born in 1962) and loved looking at magazines of music stars and movie stars too). I think these old pictures show much emotion and heart.
I am a 63-year old lifetime Motown lover who started listening to Motown waaay back in the early 60s. I've played these songs at least a thousand times and it is such a wonderful joy and a true blessing to hear your AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT extended versions. I am hearing things I have never ever heard before! You are a true master Motown-lover and I just want to say thank you for your talent and these gifts.
brandx01....thank you so much for your very kind words. It sounds like you and I are cut from the same cloth. I've always wanted extended versions, but no one ever created them. So years ago I started tinkering and was able to do it with the instrumental backings (which were always my favorite part of Motown music.) SO glad you enjoyed this...co check out my others...their are over 400 I have posted....some better than others...
+mosogotam I couldn't have said it better than brandx said. You're a Magic Music Man! The work you've done with all these songs are simply Brilliant. You invented all these songs all over again. I can't thank you enough for recreating my childhood growing up with all these great Motown and all the songs you've "tinkered" with. Thanks again my brother.. ;-)
William....I'm most appreciative of your kind comments. So glad you like my stuff! It's a real pleasure to work with these tracks especially playing with the amazing instrumentals! Thanks again!
Thank you. It truly was a magical time back then listening to Motown as it developed and grew and getting so excited with each new record release! That's why I love these extended-mixes so much.
James Jamerson's basswork is fascinating. He punches the melody with rhythmic popping that is almost psychedelic. And Mary... Mary's deep contralto backing vocal is almost haunted. What a great song
Wonderful mix of one of the most beautiful songs from Diana Ross and The Supremes ~ So great then AND now ~ timeless ~ one of the BEST Female Groups in that era ! Paved the way for so many today ~ Real talent and real singers ! Diana Ross , Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just can not believe how wonderful the music was when I was young. I also can not believe that most of what I hear today does not compare to how great it was back in the yesteryears. What happened to real music? I feel blessed to have lived in a time of such wonderful music. We had the best. I am so glad that technology has preserved all the wonderful. I can enjoy it for the rest of my life. 😁
The great James Jamerson is really getting down on that bass. Best bass line ever next to Carol Kaye's bass line to the Beat Goes On by Sonny & Cher. To me, those are the two best bass players to have ever walked this earth.
Love this extended mix, teary as I watch this, Motown was a part of my childhood, sad that that time in history is just that, history, the Supremes will never be equaled...
I'm with you there, my Mum blasted Motown out, trying to get me to dance to it with her, I registered all of the songs she played, now I love them, helps me remember Mum x...
1960s..Turbulent yes..yet there was a spirit of Hope that America was striving to more closely resemble it's ideals...the curtain had neen pulled back on secrets buried in the soil of conscience. So this Motown placed all thesr beautiful and talented young people in the world spotlight. Peace
Your extended mixes bring out the best of the songs, specially the background vocals which at times were muted. Flo and Mary can now be heard and the beauty of their voices can shine. RIP Florence Ballard - gone too soon!
Background Voices got muted as Berry and Diana's liaisons became more and he pushed her to the front of the group.Gradually you can hear that Mary Flo etc voices were just faint echoes in the tunes...
The genius that was the Supremes. World renown songstresses and so rightfully so. Ladies, perhaps your signature song, brilliantly done. Sincerely, Bill. " you made me love you "
I remember hearing this for the first time over a powerful sound system at a high school sock hop, and how Diana's spoken interludes reverberated around the gyms walls. Your stunning extended version has brought that memory rebounding back to me this morning. Thank you!
We will luv them always,,our h.s. auditorium walls also reverberated with 'baby love' and I was 14 & a freshman anticipating more music fr these talents in the early 60's 💖
Wow,, what great Memories. Just a kid, these songs played all the time in the house. No time, like these times. They are times that never will be forgotten. This all was the Real Deal. Wish we could turn back the hands of time as That old Song Used To Say. Thanks to all involved with these Video's Here in 2019
WITHOUT A DOUBT.....MY FAVORITE SUPREMES SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MISS ROSS Vocals and Mary and Flo's Background ARE FLAWLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Add the words and it is PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's my fave, too; it's a shame it's not quite as famous as some other Supremes songs. What do you think about when you hear it? I always think of the heartbreaking "Adam & Annie" episode of Butterflies.
battywattywoo , Hey I even like "No Matter What Sign You Are" and "The Young Folks". With that song I knew that the masses were full of it. Who cares what the masses like? I assemble my own "greatest hits"

Wonderful absolutely wonderful. Feel like I am back in the 60's again. I love all of your extended versions of the Supreme's songs - 3 minuets is never enough of there music!!!
A man isn't suppose to show emotions, but I can't help it. My wife is younger than me, and she isn't familiar with these songs, she can't comprehend when I tell her this song is phenomenal . You are a fantastic artist and I appreciate you keeping alive the golden age of pop music and adding a twist, meaning an extension to our favorite songs.. Wonderful job MOSOGOTAM!!!

The ''Angelic'' voices at the beginning and during this gem of a song belong to the Incredible Andantes ( who never got a mention on a majority of Motown records until Marvin's ''What's going on'' album!)
They had to be about three minutes long, so stations would play them. We as DJs were forced to have about four stop sets per hour, and three minute songs worked best for that structure.

If it weren't for Diana's voice these songs would not be as brilliant!! It's Miss Diana's voice that made them GREAT!!!
This music was created to last forever....
The 60's was the best music.
Mary and Florence so elegant with sweet voices
The Supremes was the best ever female group with Diana Ross leading. Their hits remain forever. Lovely to hear the extended version here brings back best ever memories too.

I didn’t know how blessed i was to be born in that era and 5 blocks away from Motown

Diana lead vocal is so underrated and iconic.
Mary and Flo sound really good in the background on this song, it's amazing.
Yesssss
And what about the lead singer? Is it forbidden to mention her?!
@@MD-lf3gt No it isn't, But I still say that Flo should've been the Lead vocalist.

My absolute favorite of the mighty Supremes!
A Timeless Classic. I Love The Motown Aesthetic, Their Arrangements, The Funk. The Symphony. The Music.
The Supremes sound like the angels they are. The Funk Bros. tear it up. A+
without the funk brothers there would be no motown.
I agree - sweet personalities and faces!

I've heard dont know if it's TRUE it kaye
It was carol
String section is boppin, too!
You sure that is the sound of the great JJ? Sounds a bit like a bass horn or tuba mimicking a JJ base line. I could be very wrong. 🙏🏽
Flo was always the prettiest.
one of my favorite Supremes songs! Love the new mix!

How many of you heard this song on the radio back in the day?
