"Love Is Here and Now You're Gone" is a 1967 song recorded by the Supremes for the Motown label.
Written and composed by Motown's main production team Holland-Dozier-Holland, it became the second consecutive number-one pop single from the Supremes' album The Supremes Sing Holland-Dozier-Holland and the group's ninth overall chart-topper in the United States on Billboard Hot 100, peaking March 1967.
The song, which depicts a relationship in the beginning stages of breakup ("You persuaded me to love you/And I did/But instead of tenderness/I found heartache instead"), features several spoken sections from lead singer Diana Ross, who delivers her dialogue in a dramatic, emotive voice. Matching the song's drama influences is an instrumental track, featuring a prominent harpsichord and strings, which recalls both a Hollywood film score and The Left Banke's recently popularized "Baroque rock."
Primarily recorded in Los Angeles, California, thousands of miles away from Motown's regular Hitsville U.S.A. recording studio, "Love Is Here And Now You're Gone" was the #1 song on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for one week, from March 5 to March 11, 1967, becoming the group's ninth number-one single. The single was also the group's sixth number one on the R&B charts. The girl group performed the hit record on NBC's The Andy Williams Show on Sunday, January 22, 1967, going to number one seven weeks later. Lyricist Eddie Holland names "Love is Here" as his favorite Supremes song.
Cash Box said the single is a "bright, rhythmic, pulsating Motown-sound excursion" in which the Supremes are "at the top of their form." - Видеоклипы

Flo Shines in this video. RIP Florence!
Beauty , elegance , and talent ! Gifts the Supremes possessed! No vulgar language , no trash, just class ! Queens !
Remembering Mary Wilson who left us in February of 2021.
How these girls remembered all their choreography, hit all their marks, and then remembered the words to the song and were still poised and sold the song is astounding.
They were terrific!
It's called rehearsals and edits.if you look carefully you can see micro edits
Wow were they special!!! One hit after another!! Surpremes, loved them. Thank you!! 😊🎶🎶🎤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
This makes me feel so emotional, taking me back to better days💖just beautiful ❤️
They have great talent and delicious voice
The great Icon and Legend Diana Ross. Love this song.
The great icons and legends, THE SUPREMES! Knock off the Diane Ross revisionist history! With 12 number one hits, THEY were the main event, not Diane's solo career........what's wrong with you? You are watching the most successful American vocal GROUP in musical history!
@@kurtsupreme You're such a delusional goon. They were merely her back up singers.
@@kurtsupremeMary, is that you? 🤔
@@Graz_Mc ...........Silly, naive, "Ross as a solo act" fan, is that YOU?????????????🤥
@@kurtsupremeyou are 💯 % correct, thank you!!
Love it. Soon to be gone from the Supremes was the lovely Florence 😭
The other two Supremes were beautiful and talented as well.
The background singing and choreography were an integral part of the SUPREMES.
I feel privileged to of seen them live several times...
@@mjc5509 could you tell me about it please 😭

That microphone cord had quite the cameo! Glad it didn't get dangerous
😂 right!!!!!!
I thought it was sad when Dianna was at the awards show and gave Flo and Mary very little recognition to her becoming famous. The two of them made Dianna Ross and they formed the Supremes, not Dianna Ross.
"SO"UL GOOD❣️
Mary and Florence had the moves!
And Diana the magic
WOW! LOVE IT, Sammy! Great video with superb HQ stereo audio! Fabulous! Perfect synch job!! THANKS!!

Thanks very much Chris!
One of my favorites! Thank you, Sammy.
Thanks John.
One thousandth view! Lovely work. I love the Supremes!
Many thanks, M.R. Me too!
what an A-hole berry was for firing Flo. She was amazing.
She was not fired for no reason. Bitterness for not being the Lead made her unprofessional at some point . It was the image of Motown at stake . It is sad because she was talented but was not the whole package to be the Lead
He really effed up her career
FAB :)
Well, they weren't called the Swingin' Supremes for nothing! This is absolutely wonderful - the performance, HDH's songwriting and the string arrangement by Gene Page! Wasn't the backing track recorded in LA?
Perfect matching of stereo to HQ video Sammy.
Many thanks Jacob.
Just a great song Sammy and the video is outstanding - a pleasure to watch and listen to. Many thanks and have a happy new week! Cheers, E.H.
Many thanks, E.H. Glad you like it. Enjoy the week ahead. Cheers.
Diana was a trip.😃 She loved being the IT girl😃 But then again, who wouldn't? Nice work if you can get it, when you basically come from nothing...
She earned it, she worked hard for years.
