So instead of coming with findings, she respectfully comes to alert them of an inspection. The detective alerting the robber. Additionally this position requires a brave upfront person.

Nairobi is a mess. But it’s gratifying to hear a leader talk abt what can be done. Greed seems to have overtaken our leader’s ability to think. However We also need to get the Citizens involved and be accountable for their City. Vis a vis not dumping, throwing trash every where and stop spitting.

Nairobi buildings are facing safety concerns due to shortcuts in the approval process, lack of oversight, and complicity between government officials and the executive, and the solution is to conduct a thorough audit, gather information, and take strategic action to address the issues.

This needs to be done thoroughly since alot of people have lost their property coz someone else subverted the law. Those people needs to be sued for the subsequent damages caused

A result of Complicity between county government officials and the owners of the said developments. Some of these buildings belong to the same powerful politicians. How do you expect a poor county government inspectorate officer to stop the construction of a building belonging to a sitting Mp or mca or governor?! Some of these buildings built on riparian lands or beacon to beacon (a building should be at least 1.2M from the plot beacon or wall fence) or even structurally deficient (like using D12 instead D16 for columns) etc. Belong to the same leaders who are supposed to protect the law, unfortunately.

    Key insights
🏙 The problem with Nairobi buildings is the "shortcut syndrome" - Nasra Nanda
🌍 The shortcut syndrome in Nairobi's building construction poses a serious threat to structural integrity and safety.
👷‍♂ There should be a checklist of things that ought to have been fulfilled before a building is occupied, and the relevant ministry should give approval for the habitability of the structure.
🚧 There's a shortcut syndrome plaguing our society, leading to a ripple effect in our work and processes.
🌆 The danger lies in the understood continuity of what seems to work for the interest of the few, rather than the welfare of the majority of the citizens in Nairobi.
🏙 We need to give Nairobi the city that they want, a city of dignity where things actually work.
👁 The problem with individuals in positions of authority is that their lifestyle and possessions cannot possibly explain their wealth and businesses, leading to a lack of benefit for the citizenry.
🐉 There is a deep problem when it comes to construction and development in Nairobi, and it may require drastic measures to solve.
