This band is such a classic. The way they dress is beautiful, just as there music.... They care about there appearance, you don't have that anymore, with any band!!!!! Pure magic...🥀🥀🥀🥀...2022...
There were others before them that played live with a symphonic orchestra, long before the Moodies first did. .Deep Purple as early as 1969 and Procol Harum in 1971 are two that immediately come to mind.
They're one of my faves as well. I always liked this song as it was a hit when bands (Beatles) were trying to make political statements. "Just a singer in a rock 'n roll band". Well said John. Chèers
Fantastic performance of great John Lodge song by the greatest band ever who I was lucky enough to.meet a couple of times mid 90's, so sad that Ray and Graham are no longer with us, RIP both.
Moodies have it ALL going on here. Hayward rips on that 335. Love the extended jam and the brass and strings rocking it right along with the band. Stellar.
About 18 years ago, we took our 12 - ish year old daughter to see the Moody Blues, two times, a few years apart. She still talks about how awesome it was.
There song walking on the beach hits my heart ❤️ everytime I hear it I was a senior in high-school and this girl keep following me following she even got a job the same place I worked after school well on June 2 1969 we got married and are still very happy listening to this song also her house was a block from the beach and we did alot of walking in the sand
Just a wonderful band, Justin is a real poet. He sing's from the ❤️❤️❤️.. Love the orchestra, it really bring's out the mood of the concert, thank's for all of your video's, lovely to see you again, my friend's!!!!🥀🥀🥀🥀.2022..
I really love how so many bands use two drummers now. Never got a chance to see them with Mr Thomas, but I saw them once with Ms Mullen (I believe) last summer.
I grew up in the 90's listening to the Moody Blues b/c it's what my parents listened to. We had the old VHS of this exact concert and despite being too young to read at the time, I recognized the picture on the VHS case and would replay this song over and over. This is my favorite song from my childhood that shaped my music taste throughout the years. Dynamic, rich, and full of passion for the art that is music.
+Joseph Olson You got it! Yey yuh...these guys make a mean song to eat some fine Italian goodies too,Sir! awesum stuph! Loved their K.i.w.S., song.-Talent! B^D :) ;-p 8`2
partner, “they are going to open with “just a singer..”. “. you know this song from the first beats, right? i was correct, they opened with this. life partner, “how did you know that?” i just know. i’m rarely wrong guessing for anyone. i’ve been to josh groban tour openers. the first question other grobanites ask is,”what did he open with?”m
Ty, this is a recording of a concert in Sept 9,1992 Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado, USA. The video "The Moody Blues - A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra" is one of the most excellent compilations of their greatest hits. An extra bonus was a second related video released in 1999; "The Other Side of Red Rocks" containing songs played but left off the first video. Also has rehearsal footage, interviews and cool pre-concert audience arrival to the venue.
Does anyone know what kind (the name) of the white shirt with the necktie-looking thing on it, the singer/red guitar player is wearing, please leave in the comments the name of the shirt is as I would dearly like to buy one but I don't k now what it's called to look for it. Thank you in advance. Michael
Worst version ever. They didn't even do the great bass solo after the intro drum solo. As a rock song they completely dropped the ball in this version. Vocals are all flat too. First time I ever critisized them.
The Moodies are in my Top 10 favorite bands. I've been a huge fan since the release of "Days of Future Past". I saw them in concert on the ground-breaking 1993 tour, where they used local/regional symphony orchestras It was a stunningly great show! Even when I am a huge fan of an artist, I can be very critical of live performances that are not up to par - especially when vocals are weak or off-key. I agree with you, that these performances were not good. Vocals really were poor, so much so that it makes me cringe. It embarrasses me. And I also agree that to leave off the bass solo in the beginning, makes one wonder if he felt he couldn't do it? Even using the orchestra, they could have figured out a way to subtly bring in the orchestra after the intro and first verse.. Anyway, long way to say, I agree they dropped the ball on this one. Thing is that when I saw them with my local orchestra, I would imagine it had to have been the same arrangement for this song. But I sure don't remember the vocals being this poor!
Miss a lot Ray and Graeme.
They won't be forget
The moodies forever
This group, the Moodies is my all time favorite still, for past 50 years! You will live forever !!!!!🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️🤩🤩🤩
This band is such a classic. The way they dress is beautiful, just as there music.... They care about there appearance, you don't have that anymore, with any band!!!!! Pure magic...🥀🥀🥀🥀...2022...
Yes indeed! They Rock 🎶💜💖🙏😎🎶❤👍
BEEN A FAN FOR 50 YEARS AND THEY SOUND AS FRESH TO DAY AS EVER.
This was 21 years ago. 1992
I was born in 1992.
I am 70 years old and still amazing as fresh song !!!!
Love the Moodies, the first Rock band ever to use an Orchestra. Excellent collaboration!
There were others before them that played live with a symphonic orchestra, long before the Moodies first did. .Deep Purple as early as 1969 and Procol Harum in 1971 are two that immediately come to mind.
Incorrect John Farnham was the first back in 1987.
Been a fan since 68! I’m 68 now! Had the pleasure of seeing them in the 90’s. Outstanding musicians all around. Bravo!
They're one of my faves as well. I always liked this song as it was a hit when bands (Beatles) were trying to make political statements. "Just a singer in a rock 'n roll band". Well said John. Chèers

Rock 'n roll at its finest 👌 ✨️. What else can I say?!!
Love the Blues. Even their techno rock. Other side of life is their best song. . no band like them
Moodies have it ALL going on here. Hayward rips on that 335. Love the extended jam and the brass and strings rocking it right along with the band. Stellar.
Justin Hayward never gets the credit he deserves for being an excellent guitar player.
You, sir, are a man that knows that of which he speaks. Well said.
Wow! The only thing I can think of to say is Wow!
You said everything I would have said. Also, all the musicians, the Moody Blues and the orchestra sound so great together.
About 18 years ago, we took our 12 - ish year old daughter to see the Moody Blues, two times, a few years apart. She still talks about how awesome it was.
Congrats to the Moody Blues for getting inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame next Saturday!!!!!!!!
It was about time. In my opinion, the Moody Blues should have been inducted 20 years beforehand.
I was there - what an honour!
Absolutely amazing performance. Love this concert. I could listen to this all day.

I'm afraid that real Rock & Roll will pass away with the legends who created it.
Saw them in Fort Wayne 20+years ago .The two drummers actually juggled drumsticks back and forth, never missed a beat! Awesome!
Henley and Vitale also.
"Justin is a real poet".
Maybe. But this song was written by John Lodge.
FINALLY !!! ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME !!!!!
That was a REALLY good preformance! They were my favorite band as a kid. Yes, I'm that old.
What a group, What a sound !
What's not to love? They ALWAYS knocked it out of the park!
Magnificent concert . . . about 1/3 rd the way back from the stage.
Outstanding performance, even by his lofty standards, from Justin Hayward OBE (should be Sir).
Poor Ray! Rest in Peace dude.
Rest In Peace, Graeme.
I saw them on that tour. Will never forget that night.
Them boys can sure play.
I really love how so many bands use two drummers now. Never got a chance to see them with Mr Thomas, but I saw them once with Ms Mullen (I believe) last summer.

My God.
Been on the journey sense go now and their music helped me when I came home from Vietnam.

Good ole Tarby rescued that one
Thanks so much ! ✿¸.*☆🕺 🎼💖╰⊰✿🎼Auteur-compositeur : John Lodge
Cool
Kanye needs to watch this entire 6:55 to see what musical entertainment looks like.
+Joseph Olson He definitely should. Then he will have a better idea on how to be famous, successful, and a brilliant musician.
+Joseph Olson You got it! Yey yuh...these guys make a mean song to eat some fine Italian goodies too,Sir! awesum stuph! Loved their K.i.w.S., song.-Talent! B^D :) ;-p 8`2
I disagree, 10 seconds is enough to see that.:)
Percercisly.
Onlar müzik tarihinin efsaneleri idi ama iki kişi kesildiler ne mutlu bu konseri seyredenler artık onlar yok
Acid will save the World.
Have cds.of this group.
Have cds will travel.
Those girls are Hot as hell
I don't understand why they need a second drummer. Is Graeme Edge not enough?
partner, “they are going to open with “just a singer..”. “. you know this song from the first beats, right? i was correct, they opened with this. life partner, “how did you know that?” i just know. i’m rarely wrong guessing for anyone.

Was this a PBS Special ?
Yes, and it is on DVD. You can also look for "The Other Side of Red Rocks" on DVD.
What year and where? Does anyone know? Ty

It's called a "Poet shirt"...
I think that was studio album but not live
Just want to correct the person, that Deep Purple was the first to play with a Orchestra
Deep purple formed in 1968. Days of Future Passed was 1967.
Putin needs to hear this.
Maybe over and over,
in Hell..!
When you need two drummers.... the old guy needs to retire
