21:52 Fun fact: I am supposed to be left-handed (I do almost everything dominantly with my left hand, picking things up, opening doors, holding phones, etc.) But I write with my right cause when I was in school, learning to write, MY TEACHER TOLD ME THAT WRITING WITH YOUR LEFT WAS W R O N G. I've written like shit for years and it's all because of one delusional teacher.
This is ironic becuase a common example as to why things like autism and gay people have 'risen' over the years is how when left handedness stopped being illegal a lot more people were left handed
My dad wrote with his left hand and his teacher (in the 1960s) would slap him with a ruler to correct him if she caught him using it. My grandmother stepped in or he'd probably would've been writing with his right hand
I'm transgender, panromantic, and demisexual, so for the last pride I made a shirt that said "I am the Trans PanDemic the conservatives are afraid of."
I'd approve of that pun if it wasn't for the fact that I know that you, like me, and all people with that sense of humour, actually want people to react with groans of disapproval and eyerolls at your jokes. I dunno why but it's just funnier that way.
Ok as a writer I have to point out that most stories about love being illegal are DELIBERATELY drawing on the LGBT+ experience in an effort to show cis/het people the true horror of that experience.
I tested out different pronouns for a bit. Then I just learned that I was a masculine lady, and that was okay. No regrets. I still dream of being a Drag King one day.
Doing Drag King stuff seems rlly cool to me but I just hate how makeup feels :/ There's so much artistic talent in makeup and I love art! But I guess I'll settle for looking.
Gotta ask, how does a Drag King look? My head went to odd places… I’m really not sure how to fit a drag racer into a wardrobe? Do you take it to the bar regardless of the terrible handling on corners or that it’s impossible to find parking? Do you just wear the fireproof race suits and a helmet? Sort of a Super Dave Osborne vibe? (No, not trolling. I just really need an answer but I’m afraid to google it)
@@coffeegonewrong If you're really not trolling... Drag queens and kings are (typically but not always) cis people who dress up in exaggerated forms of the opposite gender for the purposes of entertaining others. Drag queens are men who perform as women, and drag kings are women who perform as men. Again, that's the typical. Drag is an artform. Some trans people perform drag. Some people perform in drag versions of their preferred gender.
I was going to make a joke of 'Guys, don't wear women's clothing, buy your OWN pretty dress!' but honestly if you have someone you can share outfits with, go for it. With their permission, of course.

I'm a teacher and have a huge LGBTQIA+ flag hanging in my 8th grade classroom. Within the first week of school every year, I have a huge group of students flock to me and come out to me. I ask pronouns, use the preferred pronouns and names, and most importantly am the mom these kids need. Edit: I've been at this school for 8 years. The kids hear from the older ones who their support system is. I'm just grateful that my admin and district are extremely supportive as well.
That’s so wholesome, you sound like such a sweetheart for doing that for those kid. You are definitely the light they need in their life, keep going! 🥺🥰
Hey. I know this might seem like a small gesture for you, bit I really need to tell you: please, *please* keep doing this for these kids. As someone who's growing up in a fascist/reactionary household and recently graduated high school, the faculty staff were the family I wish I had at home. I think that, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here today. What you're doing is a gigantic light in what is, for most youths in this whole continent, a pitch-black tunnel with what appears to have no light. Thank you for your service. I get that the saying "braver than the troops" is overused, but truly, honestly, I believe teachers are the very definition of remaining steadfast under oppression and spreading knowledge to build a better future. So yeah… in short, thank you. These kids need you, and you're doing one hell of a service for them.
Sweetheart, that's amazing. Please, keep doing this. I know how one person support can change the things and it's a lot. I'm sure you now but I still wanna say to you, that's wholesome and thanks ( つ ◕‿◕ )つ
I read your comment, and thought back to my highschool math teacher, the first person at the school (not including friends) to accept me for who I was, even before my own parents, and I started crying, Thank you for being a shining light for these kids. Some might not have that at home.
I went into a shop and was staring at their pride flag and my friend elbowed me and goes “girl you look like a bigot” to which I very blatantly and loudly went “their flag is crooked and I’m losing it”
theres a shop in my town with a progress pride flag, but its like.. more square than normal?? i love that they have it but i hate that it looks so weird lmao
Fun story in relation to the one about the uncle. I grew up in a VERY rural part of Michigan where folks can be a little....backwards. Flash forward to 5 years ago I'm living on the east coast and starting to transition. I come out to my family with, let's call it nicely, mixed reactions. A few days after coming out I call me grandma and she doesn't answer. I start freaking out worrying that she hates me now. She calls me back a few minutes later and says, "sorry I didn't answer. I couldn't remember your new name and didn't want to get it wrong". She was 75, age is no excuse for not trying. Yeah she messes up sometimes but she always corrects herself and apologies when she does.
i once got someone's name wrong and I felt sooo bad, and i apologized soo much, that it was clearly overkill, but i still felt bad. And some people do it on purpose? idk how
I actually tested the 'we can always tell be with my transphobic brother. He got less than half right. Two were pictures of jammidodger. Both of which he got wrong.
Story time: So yesterday my mom was scrolling on her phone and said out loud "that's not a pride flag, pride flags are colorful ". I was like "What?". She said "It says straight pride flag but it's just black and white" and showed me a picture of what was indeed a straight pride flag. I had to explain to her the whole straight pride bs and she rolled her eyes so hard that I thought she was going to hurt herself and said "Why do they care so much if other people are gay?" ❤
There's a lot of flags that LGBTQ+ artists (such as myself) grind their teeth at because _fucking learn to colour balance god damn it; warm and cool tones don't just pair like that--_ so I think the visual disasters that are "straight flags" are enough to kill any artist on the spot.
Usually, only male narwhals have tusks, but a whole 15% of females do as well. We still don't know exactly what they are used for. Tusks come from the left canine teeth, and are all set off to the side. 1 in 500 tusked narwhals have a mutation that causes the right tooth to become a tusk, making a two tusked narwhal. This means that one of the greatest enigmas among cetaceans is the Twin Tusked Narwoman. Only one has been recorded, with a 3/10000 odds. There are 100,000 narwhals total, making there potentially 29 unknown 2 tusked females.
Hey, I transitioned 24 years ago, and my superpower is mowing the lawn. One of the things I wanted most in the whole world was to be a grandfather. Not President, just a grandfather. And yeah, it turned out to be just as much fun as I'd thought it would. Shout out to PawPaw, my role model for 60 years.
Classes are a social construct, so I say go ahead and multiclass. If I were DM, I'd allow players to freely switch between classes anyway, like in Planescape Torment.
I realized I was gender fluid because none of my characters are the same gender. This includes the cis, trans, nonbinary, and other genders. I couldn't make up my mind. That was how my egg cracked. Because D&D.
@@oakenshadow6763 I did the same thing in every RPG where you could create and customize characters, though I never played TTRPGs. I would play a pretty even mix of genders, and pick "other" when available, just because I thought it was fun. It didn't occur to me that this was tied to identity issues. I just wanted to see what the games had to offer.
So quick story, I used to be uber homophobic, like calling gay people slurs and what not. I was also extremely rude to girls. This resulted in me, never truly understanding girls in a way. Little did I know this would fantastically backfire on me when I started dating this girl, I found her easy to understand and easy to talk to. Of course after we agree to start dating I find out she’s trans. I told her that I’m not comforta- Just kidding! I fucking love him regardless, every time we cuddle together, I always imagine us traveling back in time to my homophobic self, telling him that this is his future, and watching the poor little lad faint. (Edit: holy fuck that's a lot of responses, I'm doing even better now if y'all are wondering)
I also kinda struggle with the idea of being “not normal” according to my dad who used to hit me and my brother. Sorry for the tangent, just happy that OT and TC kinda taught me that my brother being ace and me being bi is okay.
im really happy to hear that youve found love and that your boyfriend helped you see a brand new part of yourself! its okay to have said things you werent proud of in the past, but you really should be proud of the life youre living right now and your self-improvement
I was introduced to Aerosmith's "dude looks like a lady" when I was in middle school. I knew it was about a crossdressing person, but being a middle schooler, I never REALLY listened to the lyrics. I recently, as an adult, listened to those lyrics... Steven Tyler was NOT upset that she had extra bits.
In my country, there was this song from a female singer that is the most lesbian of lesbian songs, the name translates to something like "in front of people/in public". So many people didn't realize it was gay, I also came to that realization years after hearing the song the first time :'D I don't know how any of us missed it, the song's literally about like, holding hands in public and being brave and not caring about the looks people give you and such. The song very much mentions the other person being "so beautiful in their high heels", so, even if you think the song is about a straight relationship, it's still encouraging cross-dressing, at the very least xD
That song is about Vince Neil from Motley Crew. It was Steven Tyler just taking the mickey out of how slim he was and how glam rock hair was more feminine sorry. This is only according to one band member though so maybee its not accurate.
Okay so I wanted to share a little wholesome from my life. I live in Alabama, am a trans queer drag queen, and my family is super chill. My mom’s the one who brought me to my first drag show and encouraged me to do it. She’s almost never missed a show and my dad’s been to quite a few. My parents always said that if my friends ever got kicked out, they’d take them in. Just wanted to share a nice story from the south of the US where everything is nightmare.
Sending love and hugs to you and your family, if you want them from a random internet stranger, of course! It's wonderful to see someone share that they're loved and supported the way *every* (non-evil) person should be. 💙🏳️🌈💙🏳️⚧️💙
I’m a dad in Florida and my youngest son showed up for a visit in a black skirt and thigh high stockings. When my only comment was: “I like how the white bows on the stockings match with the white letters of your t-shirt” his trans friend who was with him nearly started crying. Their home life was much more judgmental. So my wife and I “adopted” them and gave them an open invitation to come visit us.
Fun animal facts for OT: Cheetahs do not roar; they chirp and meow Giraffes fight by necking- which exactly what is sounds like- they fight by hitting each other with their necks There is an animal out there known as a maned wolf, which is lanky, eats fruit, and has a roar-bark. Octopuses enter REM sleep: ie they dream
Here’s some more! : A group of frogs is called a army A group of cats is called a pounce A group of pandas are called a lazy Poison frogs are not poisonous in captivity Penguins are known for being gay being gay married and adopting abandoned chicks while gay married There is a type of deer called the muntjac and they are adorable and they “bark” look it up People have reported screams coming from the woods when all it was was a fox or mountain lion. That’s all!❤
That meme about rounding up the Drag Queens. It made me think of a very sad saying about the Nazis in Germany that I don't remember entirely but it Goes something like this: when they came for the mentally ill no-one complained, When they came for the gays no-one complained , when they came for the Jews no-come complained when they came for me there was no-one left to complain. Which boils down to Speak UP and Call out bias and bigotry to stop people from being bullied for just living their lives, because if they can make one group a monster there is nothing stopping them from turning your group into a monster.
“Terrible things” has this exact message as well. God the holocaust was absolutely brutal. Plus it’s kind of sad bc a lot of people misinterpret the story to be about animal cruelty, which, while that is bad, it is not the intended theme of the story.
Okay the uncle one made me smile. "So you're saying you're NOT trans? Well I've been practicing so that's what I'm gonna do." And everyone just rolls with it. We need more accepting Southern uncles
I almost cried that one was so sweet! "No! But I've been practicing!" I just imagine him nervously in front of the mirror going over what he's going to say every night until he has it down perfectly and being so proud and waltzing up to his nephiece with a big smile and he's just like AWWWW, cmon! Ya know what? Imma do it anyway! XDDDD Like you can't be mad or say no to a man as sweet and as wholesome as that! He's precious!
12:34 taylor also tried to sue a person who made a video about her two private jets' flight logs which was public availability, part of it is that she push for greener choices while doing that. Also, it is like 50+ in a year
My boyfriend thought he was hetero/cis before he met me. He then fell in love with me, a trans guy and figured out that we wasn't straight. I talked to him a lot how i feel as a trans guy. That made her think, now he's pretty sure she's bigender. He only thought about her gender when he met me, because the topic was important to me. And now i'm helping her figuring himself out. I'm pan so i could not care less what she turns out to be, but i will be there for his entire journey discovering herself. And i know that whatever his identity will be in the end, i love her.
I'm also bigender (my genders are male and female) and your use of "he/him" and "she/her" is super heartwarming. It's clear that you see all of your special person and love him for who she is. I hope you have lots of happiness together. 😊
@@minestar2247 He/him pronouns aren't neutral. Those pronouns are male. You can't just call a trans woman for example he/him because YOU think its neutral.
I literally just got the joke. I thought we were just making fun of skeletons and the punchline was just diverting the expectation if "of its gonna be that they have no body to go with" and that calling the skeleton a wuss for not going to the fancy party was just a fun bonus. But no. Its so much better. Skeletons have no Balls. Like a ball. A fancy party. How did i not immediately understand that. Its so brilliant. OT is prime comedy.
Not liking balls is a reason to not to throw them. The joke was "why don't skeletons like GOING TO dances" & then the fact that they don't throw balls/dances was the answer when it really is a statement of their reaction to not liking dances. If you told the joke in reverse it would be: skeletons don't have balls because they don't like going to dances. But it doesn't tell you why the skeletons don't like dancing. Just that they don't throw balls because they don't like dancing.
I think that autism memes would be an amazing addition to the channel. I know that I, and a lot of others here, see a lot of ourselves represented in your videos, but I've honestly never seen a creator dedicate a video to autistic or even neurodivergent memes. It could be great because it would educate a lot of your audience who want to learn and I think that's really important not just for the queer community, but the neurodivergent one as well (and we often overlap!)
Fun animal fact: The reason cats rub their bodies against you is that it's a scent marker. They are making you smell familiar to them because they want to remember that you're trustworthy. You are their comrade because you smell like them! Also fun fact: Kangaroo lungs work like a piston, so every time they hop, it forces air into their lungs. This gives them incredible endurance to keep hopping for miles! Also also fun fact: Whales don't breath subconsciously like we do. Because they're marine mammals, they have to force their noses open to breathe, and will usually just take a few breaths at the surface before diving back down. They are always breathing on manual mode!
@@Drag0nmaster Yeah, they're adapted for ocean life. They can't breathe through their mouths because it's easier to keep their nose closed compared to their mouths. When the water supports their weight, they can happily swim around and breathe when necessary!
When a cat rubs against you they are trying to make you smell like them because they consider you family. Unfortunately I live somewhere very hot and have very affectionate cats so I get covered in cat fur. Small price to pay.
Hello OT! I’ve recently shown my sibling your videos. And it has helped them feel more comfortable with their identity, even if they are still a bit unsure about it. It has brought them a lot of joy, even as I am typing this right now I can hear their laughter at one of your older r/traaa (dont know if I got it right) videos. So I just wanted to put this out there and say thank you for making my sibling laugh again!! As well as thank you for helping them even indirectly on their journey!
This is a good life hack, regardless of sexuality, I feel. I would recommend cold brew tea, though. This is, in case, you're somewhere where the possibility of hot water is available.
"We support multiclassing" deeply warmed my heart. I appreciate that statement so so much. For context, I'm pangender, which means I am many or all genders in one. You'd think that would make me feel like myself all the time, but honestly it just makes dysphoria more complicated XD. Thank you for your acknowledgement
Oh Bless your heart! Thank you for explaining why it's important for restaurants to advertise that they support the LBGTQ+. I'm an older cis lady and I sadly don't always recognize the challenges faced by others. I'm ashamed to say that in my review of local restaurants I had seen this declaration in their description and wondered why this was important. Isn't it a sad world that people who are just trying to live their lives, have to worry about how they will be received in a public setting. I'll now be supporting those businesses that are inclusive to all and proudly say it.
Good on you, madam, for being able to own up to your previous misunderstandings and learn from them! I'm an LGBTQ+ person born and raised in a red state, and I wish more older folks out here were willing to at least open their ears and listen, as you have done ❤️
“How many roommates do we have now? a million? we need a million of these” Yes! We do! I, an autistic disaster bisexual could _really_ use one I also love the assumption that we’re all incapable of flirting lmfao
I'm cis+. I was afraid to question my gender because I was so invested in trans rights, but when I finally looked I realized that it's because, as a gay nerd, I was never the standard of a "real man", so I feel a lot of empathy for men who struggle to be acknowledged as such.
It may seem dumb of me, but what does cis mean? I know I have a search engine right in front of me but I use my homophobic dad's account and I don't want him getting suspicious about me being lgbtq+
@@haroldlippus767 Cis means that your gender is the same as the one you were assigned at birth. Usually men who were born with a penis and women who were born with a vulva. It's most people who aren't trans.
"Mind Palace..." You just referenced one of my favorite special interests. That gave me way more joy at the end of a long, hard day than anyone neuro-typical could possibly understand. Thank you for that. 💜
Sherlock Holmes, right? When he is talking to Watson about not keeping useless knowledge like the solar system? (I had a Holmes phase as a middle schooler)
100% I was trans before I realized that it wasn't the same thing as wanting to be a unicorn (which is how I dismissed it before I knew it was real thing)
Hey OT, I'm probably not your normal target audience (cishet) but thank you for making these silly videos for us. My mum had a heart attack on Christmas day and passed away unexpected, and being able to watch this today is helping me manage to get through the day. Just wanted to let you know that you help people more than you know.
OT's target audience is "anyone who needs a roommate/friend/whatever who'll accept them for who they are and how they're doing", sounds like you're exactly the target audience.
The grief never goes away and will hit out of nowhere and will not always make sense. But humans are resilient and adaptable. You will figure out how to carry this new weight. My mind hospice team does a memorial service every year and the one statement that stuck with me was, "Grief is the price we pay for love." It will hurt, but it's because you loved. I hope this helps you. Also, if you have periods, double your feel good snacks and connect with your people. That hormonal maelstrom is wild. And it's okay to cry behind the dumpster at work or not cry at all. It's your grief, as long as it's not destructive to you or others, you get to decide how to grieve. If you want to reach out to me, please feel free to do so. Grief is a little lighter shared.
@@ananon3560 I literally got so salty about all the people saying "skeletons have noBODY" in the comments that I called my daughter into the room to complain to her and she took THEIR SIDE and we had a whole argument over the semantics of what constitutes a body! So, lesson of the day: I shouldn't get so invested in Internet comments. Which, to be fair, is a lesson life has been repeatedly trying to teach me for decades and I keep fighting it. 😋
Idk if this will get buried or if you will see it. I am trans and serving in the military. The level of harrasment ive recieved is... truly horrifying. Today was an especially rough day of aggressive misgendering. Your videos really help
I don't know your career goals (obviously, I'm a stranger) but live is a little more free on the outside and the pay is better. Also, military service can be translated to some great resume bullet points. The dd214 protects you from military fuckery and makes a cuddly blanket.

Hello! This is a notice to people who are sad bc OT isn't doing youtube anymore! He's actually going to come back to youtube soon; rn he's focusing on streaming on Twitch, but he'll be back! He also has a discord server that you can join if you want to get pinged when he's live or a new video comes out (or if you just want to chat with the community). Tysm for sticking with the channel, and don't panic! He's not gone! :D Extra: if you want to support his return (because a lot of people will have left by the time he comes back), you can post really long comments on new videos he starts making, so the algorithm will let him back in. Dropping into streams when you can is also helpful.

The meme about dysphoria and Captain America’s chest made me feel so much better. My huge boobs in a binder/slimmer/tank combo looks JUST LIKE THAT! Bear mode achieved!
Yeah, but when it comes to top surgery we still opt for concave. Lol My surgeon, in the consult, asked what I was looking for and basically my answer was "flat as possible." He did mention that given my weight "not totally flat" would be most typical and I nodded and said, "Yeah... Nope. Flat." I'm now a tubby trans guy who in the rec centre sauna has less man boobs than even skinny guys, and I freaking love it for me.
Hey, OT. I know you like studying words, so can I remind you how underappreciated the word nostalgia is. Based on its roots in latin, it means 'the pain of wanting to return to a place.' Image Odysseus in Greek mythology trying for twelve years to return home from sea. Nostalgia was actually a sickness for sailors!! Its so interesting.
Fun storytime with me: when I was a wee little child, my mother introduced me to two of her friends, who were in a lesbian relationship. The only question I had, being the bright child I was, was "can I pet your cat?"
Used to be, those nutty conservatives would say "women should not wear mens' clothing." My response would definitely be a picture of me in a blue sweater and "But what if it's super comfy?"
it's kind of traditional for men to go "stop wearing our clothes (the nice stuff is for us, not for you)" to women. nicole rudolph has several videos on that. it's been happening since the 18th century at the least. and women have been ignoring it, also kind of traditionally.
I had lgbt friends in high school, they wanted me to "at least try you never until you try" but then stopped when they understood I had tried to understand myself. It took them some time to understand I wasn't faking being on their side while being cis/straight. Fortunately, everything turned out fine and those were great years with great friends.
The "+" in "cis+" is understanding others and having the assurance to be who you are. That's also what the "+" in "lgbtq++" is trying to achieve for the people within it and the people who aren't.
@@_DishSoap the extra "+" is to emphasize the importance of understanding and respecting the first +, including all the people who have letters not there but are part of the community (as noted by the first +, like ace people, intersex people, and two-spirit people), as well as those who are just allies.
As a programmer lgbtq++ just makes perfect sense to me. … Explaining the joke: In programming you can increase a counter by writing the name of the counter and adding a ++ afterward. So lgbtq++ would basically become *more* every time you write it like that. PS. Yes, I oversimplified programming and that it depends on language/etc, it's not important for the joke.
Being gender fluid, I am 100% adding "well actually I'm multiclassing" to my list of responses. Along with telling people a large list of pronouns they can use such as OSHA/violation or syntax/error :3
I know someone who will fill out Who/Me? when in an environment where that isn't thought of as insensitive. He's cishet as far as I know, but I see it as a symbol that we all have our own personality and in the end we're all just human. "hey, you!" is answered with "who, me?" and very gender neutral.
I love your videos @OneTopic, I'm non-binary and one of my moms is a trans woman, I had this video playing in the background while cooking, and she heard the comment about trans women transitioning into their mothers, and I watched in real time as she had a sudden revelation that broke her a little bit, it was hilarious!😂😂😂
The funny part is that when I had long hair (because I'd always wanted to try having long hair but didn't actually get around to growing it out until I was nearly 30) I have never looked more similar to my sister and mom. Now I've lopped off most of my hair into an undercut with moderate length on the top because long hair is a bit of a nuisance to deal with. You need a lot more shampoo, conditioner is no longer optional, you must brush your hair while it is damp and unless you want to deal with your hair being damp and dripping on your clothes for three or more hours, you'll need to blow-dry it every single time you wash it. There's also a bunch of other annoying aspects about having long hair that I never realized until I grew mine out to the middle of my back. Like, you have to lean forward when you sit down so you leave some slack in your hair, otherwise you end up turning your hair into a head restraint.
@@mndlessdrwerThis explains the daily headaches of my childhood! @@maskedmallard537I'm jealous of people who can towel-dry their hair properly. My hair texture is so fine that it just holds onto water forever. Even with shorter hair, it can still take over an hour to air-dry after I've toweled it off. I am glad that at least I have a lot of hair, so it being finely textured doesn't make it look like I'm losing my hair. Also, hair is surprisingly heavy. If you have a sensitive scalp, then just the weight of the long hair can be enough to give you headaches.
im lgbtq and an ally, but i still learn new things every day. the jesus/god analogy for a non-binary person representing as a gender helped me out a lot. i know it was "just a meme" but I am greatful for the new knowledge so i dont undermine someone if i meet them.

Most of the dislike towards Swift right now (at least from what I've heard) is because of her using a private jet for short distance travel & producing more emissions than some countries can in a year, And also because her fans tend to hype up her mediocre-at-best lyrics about petty (and straight) relationships as her being this Queer Icon who Deserves To Be Worshipped. I don't mind people who casually like her music, I guess, but if I see people who unprompted bring up how they're such an Extreme Fan of Everything She Does, I normally don't stay around them too long because a lot of people that dedicated tend to ignore criticism or critical thinking in favour of the comfort of Having A Favourite Celebrity, and that's a bit of a red flag to me.

My mum is nonbinary, my dad is straight, they both have a shared third partner who is a trans man, I am a teen trans girl/femboy with Asperger’s and ADHD, and my grandparents could not give less of a shit. They are the most accepting people, despite not really getting it, but saying “well, why should we care? You’re still family.” Melbourne grandparents hit different. Yes I am quite late to this party, but Alan Turing? ALAN TURING REFERENCE IN THE WILD??? I can't just pass that up! Alan Turing was a freaking genius in the world of computer science, working on some of the earliest computers during WW2 and beyond. And I promise that he has a really REALLY good reason for being in a OneTopic video. His codebreaking skills using said computers managed to shorten that war by around 2 years by modern estimates. And THAT would be cool all by itself, but he is also the person who came up with the idea of the Turing Machines and the Turing test - in short, the Turing Machine (algorithm of computation that can solve...most things, figuring out what it CAN solve was a large part of the machine's inception [ the Entscheidungsproblem aughhhh ] ) is essentially what all modern computers are programmed to be (technically they're not TURING machines, because Turing machine's are relatively slow as they only do one step at a time, but the basic idea of them is still the same)...and the Turing test is (not something I learned about in AcaDec so I might be a little inaccurate) but it's essentially a way of testing AI to see if it can be distinguished from a real human in a conversation with a human judge. An AI that is able to trick judges into thinking that it is a human would pass this test and therefore be a "true" artificial intelligence by Turing's standards...but there are also some flaws in this test - though if you want to learn more then go check out that TED ED video on it somewhere on youtube. This dude is so freaking influential and awesome and I cannot understate how much of a impact he had on computers. The highest award in computer science is named after him. He's on currency in England. There's TWO very long wikipedia pages that list his legacy and things named after him, including several businesses, institutions, buildings, awards, coding languages and microchips and computer related things, computer rooms and lecture halls at prestigious universities and collages, and other various things. Well this is really cool and all, but cmon dude why is this Turing guy appearing in a Onetopic video? Well... Alan Turing was gay with another man, and in the 1950s in the UK, that was illegal. He pled guilty, and instead of going to jail accepted to be chemically castrated, which well as you would assume did wonders to his body. Due to this conviction of "gross indecency", he was revoked of a lot of his security clearances and reputation, which was a large part of why he killed himself a couple of years later. He was posthumously pardoned from his "crimes" in the 2000s by European governments, and in the UK there's a law called the "Alan Turing Law" that pardons all convicted of homosexual acts back when it was still a crime. But well, it's too late. One of the greatest minds of its time, and indeed of all time, was killed just because he was just trying to live his life to the fullest. The device you're reading this on or watching this video on or doing your homework on or playing video games on or calling your friends on or ordering thing on amazon on and everything in the digital sphere - that's all ALAN TURING'S WORK. His Turing devices are the only reason that this world is running the way it is. He was a truly monumental man and a gay icon, and that's why I love this quote so much - "You gotta be as gay as possible on the computer, or Alan Turing died for nothing."
I’m sorry… I read this at first as “Two days ago married 1.5 years of testosterone.” I was very confused 😐 But hey! Good for you! I hope that it’s going well for you! :D
28:04 I just wanted to let other people know that although this is set up as a joke, it's not always the truth! I live in the south (born and raised), am a lesbian, and have loving and supportive parents. The only people related to me that have issues with the fact I have a girlfriend are a couple of people on my mom's side because they are extremely religious, but other than that the rest of my family (extended and immediate) have been nothing but supportive about it. I know people love to say the south is the worst place in the US to be when you're gay, but southern lgbt+ people do exist and do have loving, supportive families!
It does tend to depend quite heavily on where in the south you are. If you're out in the sticks then it's less likely you'll have particularly supportive families. The closer to a big city you get and the more diversity people are exposed to on a regular basis so that these minority groups begin to be seen as just regular people trying to live their lives, the better chances you have for your family to be supportive without needing to be either coaxed or berated into sensibility.
I would classify myself as cishet+. I have spent a fair bit of time thinking about it, due to not being "a manly man", but I still decidedly fit this categories. And while i sometimes have a difficult time understanding how specifically certain sexualities or gender identities work, i always am supportive and do my best to understand, because not everyone has it as easy as i do being accepted as a cishet+

You could say this is my attempt to help, but I'm not the best when it comes to consoling people. So if you don't want to see an absolutely botched attempt, whoever may be reading - and you don't want to steal it to help someone else. Then stop reading now. Also before you think you should continue reading after the warning, take a look at my username and guess what concoction of a paragraph you will be laying Witness to. You might be uncomfortable with your situation, about what you are. But just know that there is an entire p*** category dedicated to what you are. There is a dedicated chunk to what you are, in what takes up what is estimated to be over a third of all information on the internet. You might not think it, but people like what you are, and they are numerous. They are a number of which your brain probably could not adequately comprehend. For the numbers would not work well. And if you were to say look at one person, then two people, than 10 people. Your brain can handle that. But if you try looking at a whole crowd it might not be so easy, and the bigger the crowd the harder it is. Eventually the crowd reaches so far that your eyes, and the Millions of cells dedicated to processing the information alone. Just simply do not do it justice after a certain threshold, and the brain of yours. The most complex known object in the universe, it cannot truly comprehend the number of people that appreciate what you are. Not that anybody is going to actually be reading this . But I really didn't come up with anything better than p***. I thought about it, I could have used an AI to come up with an answer for me which would have probably been way better. But this is youtube, people get issues for saying the F word, and AI is inhuman. A bunch of electricity using mechanical Parts built buy Factory machines, which were built by other machines, with a chain of machine assembly going back decades until you finally get an actual person. This is a real human response, and I talked about p***, and mixing it with a controversial subject in order to make a stranger on the internet feel better. One that I am likely to never cross paths with again pretty much. Also Oreos dipped in cream cheese taste like cheesecake apparently, the multi flavor stuffed triggers stuff with the tongue. If you need a comfort food, and decide to go American mode. Consuming Unholy amounts of calories in singular settings, consider that. I wish you a happy new year with lots of love, lots of laughter and adorable dogs who want belly rubs from you!

It's always awesome to be able to just sit back and laugh and have a nice time to feel comforted and happy, so thanks OT. And to any of you Roomies out there reading this, make sure you are hydrating, getting something to eat, and sleeping enough, and just know that I believe in you!

Don't feel too bad. Especially now that people do so little writing by hand, 90% of people who write with their dominant hand write like shit too.
What your teacher said is so dumb.😔
This is ironic becuase a common example as to why things like autism and gay people have 'risen' over the years is how when left handedness stopped being illegal a lot more people were left handed
My dad wrote with his left hand and his teacher (in the 1960s) would slap him with a ruler to correct him if she caught him using it. My grandmother stepped in or he'd probably would've been writing with his right hand

Drag queens and kings are (typically but not always) cis people who dress up in exaggerated forms of the opposite gender for the purposes of entertaining others. Drag queens are men who perform as women, and drag kings are women who perform as men.

I agree, but what is the punchline?
My boyfriend thought he was hetero/cis before he met me.
He then fell in love with me, a trans guy and figured out that we wasn't straight.
I talked to him a lot how i feel as a trans guy. That made her think, now he's pretty sure she's bigender. He only thought about her gender when he met me, because the topic was important to me. And now i'm helping her figuring himself out.
I'm pan so i could not care less what she turns out to be, but i will be there for his entire journey discovering herself. And i know that whatever his identity will be in the end, i love her.
I dont undesrtand isnt he a cis man why you calling him her
Sounds so cute and wholesome, but couldn't you have used neutral he, this sentence is hard to read
@@minestar2247 some bigender/genderfluid people prefer the switching pronouns

He actually did it once before !

A cat rubbing against you is claiming you as their human.
Being a whale or dolphin must be hell. (Well actually if you are used to it and born that way mabye not)
@@Drag0nmaster Yeah, they're adapted for ocean life.
Oh yeah the Kangaroo one reminds me of a pokemon whose hops pumped its heart.

hi, fellow nb fur
I was taking so much children's tylenol everyday, had to learn to swallow pills so I could switch to first junior, then regular tylenol. Hair was so long, I had to lift it before using the bathroom.
So glad I have freedom over my own hair now. And keep it super short! I can wash it in about 5 minutes under any sink tap, and towel it dry in seconds!

Thinking of myself as non-binary (any) has made me happier in the last few months then I ever would have thought. This was also a great one.
Most of the dislike towards Swift right now (at least from what I've heard) is because of her using a private jet for short distance travel & producing more emissions than some countries can in a year,
And also because her fans tend to hype up her mediocre-at-best lyrics about petty (and straight) relationships as her being this Queer Icon who Deserves To Be Worshipped.

He was a truly monumental man and a gay icon, and that's why I love this quote so much -
"You gotta be as gay as possible on the computer, or Alan Turing died for nothing."

I don't know how to properly conclude a wall of text about p***, lgbtq, comfort food and obesity. So here's your ending." Then the princess and the prince each got a rainbow Blaha. Watching the omni-phobic village burn to the ground, eating Olive Garden breadsticks with the Duolingo owl perched on top of the burning tower. And hey all lived happily ever after ."
I love how in 3:52 it says: “blink twice if you need help” AS IF WE WOULD BE ABLE TO TELL 💀
Who’s gonna tell him that llamas with hats has 12 episodes?
As an asexual that's really into fancy teas (I'm British And I love interesting mixes and types) I absolutely lost it
OMG SAME
I am also ace and love teas. And coffee. I just ordered some loose leaf holiday tea from Adagio at the beginning of the month. I had a birthday coupon.
@AbnormalPerson909perhaps what you're feeling is aesthetic attraction

27:02 "congrats, you're trans! now what?" proceeds to get ultra dramatic ad for a gas stove
Apparently, they're trans masc, and it's time to get grilling.
*proceeds to get a Ford f150 ad*
@voidcatling "i IdeNTiFy aS A gAS sToVE" -probably some lame ass terf somewhere
"You know when families are not dysfunctional?" Can't relate, and my eavesdropping coworker, who was a literally dumpster baby, said she didn't understand after the 4th word.
Hi OneTopic! This is just a reminder of how amazing your videos are and how they impact people’s lives. I just came out six months ago and have struggled a lot and sometimes when I feel my loneliest I put on some of your videos and just listen. Your dad jokes, your laugh, your understanding of the just people in general lifts my spirits and gives me hope in humanity again. Thanks OT for being you!
I just had a panic attack and I’m cuddling my blahaj and watching this cuz it makes me feel better, thanks OT for being someone I can watch to feel comfy again
I wish your editor a speedy recovery, OT. I got sick with Covid last week myself and it sucked. Much love to you Eli, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Hi OT! I just got back from a christmas meal with our local trans community. Literally ALL of them knew of your channel! I am so proud of you! You're doing an amazing job making our community laugh. I wish you a happy new year with lots of love, lots of laughter and adorable dogs who want belly rubs from you!
what the heck that is so cool💜😭
tell them I said hi? Haha!
15:26 I did this and what I keep getting back is "mostly fine, will notify you to check again in a few weeks"
Hoping Eli the Editor a quick and safe recovery! Feel better and thank you for all you do for OT and us.
I saw this video at the perfect time, it really helped me after spending the whole day extremely stressed out and feeling just generally hopeless. It's always awesome to be able to just sit back and laugh and have a nice time to feel comforted and happy, so thanks OT.
And to any of you Roomies out there reading this, make sure you are hydrating, getting something to eat, and sleeping enough, and just know that I believe in you!
Please accept some mama hugs.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎💙💗🤍
@@missnaomi613 I shall 💖🫂! Thanks, and have an amazing day :D
Thank you! And make sure your staying hydrated too!
Thank you. And yes, I was thinking I'd like to see him do a karaoke video now.
_picks up my dog or a foster pibble and rests their haunches on my shoulder_
Look! It’s a shoulder-mounted baby-dog! They’ll lick your face and tell you that you are valid! Unless you’re allergic to dog slobber.
_proceeds to use the SMD, unless you object that you’re allergic or scared_
PS: there are two separate dog allergies one can have: their slobber and their dandruff/fur.
I hope Editor Eli recovers with no lingering effects.
fr, sending all the love to Eli the Extraordinary Editor
Same. 🙏♥️
13:02 FUN FACT ABT WOODPECKERS
Woodpeckers have tongues that wrap around the back of their brain, going in between their skull & brain so that they don’t get brain damage from pecking on trees all day long for food
:)
Elliot page came out 2 months before I did, and seeing his character in umbrella academy transition was the greatest thing because it felt like we were on the same journey at the same time.
Fun animal fact: there exists a little squid that luminescence at night because it has little bacteria buddies. And it helps it hunt at night cause it doesn't cast a shadow.

Do you know the name of the specie of squid?
Asking for a Friend. Who's a splatoon fan.

In case no one else commented: some birds are so difficult to determine the sex of, that you can only find out after getting a DNA test done at the vet. It's expensive to do, of course, so most pet stores won't bother.
6:00 This & Llamas w/ Hats was all I needed growing up 🙏
After OT mentioned the idea of rooms in our brains, I can't stop laughing at the image of there being a room in OT's head that contains nothing but Michael Buble playing Santa Buddy XD
