Bulgaria. Sunny Beach, April and it's started to open now!

- Sunny Beach, the biggest resort on the Black Sea in Bulgaria finally starts it's 2024 season. We show the return of the Ferris Wheel on the front and the businesses preparing to open shortly. With our Easter next week and the first charter flights coming in its going to suddenly get busy! We take refreshment on Flower Street and relax in the sunshine.

It's raining and windy today, happens. We are at the DIY shop getting a bigger hammer drill now. Our house is solid concrete.

Just watched your video and other videos of sunny beach,having been there 2 times,first time was in 1990 which was my last holiday with my parents when I was 16 then went again in 1994 with an old x girlfriend and to be honest I can not recognise the place of today even looking at some of my old holiday photos,something I did notice was how busy/ packed it is these days an awful lot quiter when I last went,is the restaurant bar the windmill still there,if I remember used to be a raxi ride into the mountains and was it there that had an old wooden boat on the beach which was a restaurant with a donkey and 2 monkeys walking about on it while you was eating
Those have gone. It has changed a lot over the years, we have had an apartment 8 years and it's developing all the time. Great thing is there are quieter areas, restaurants to enjoy. We love Nessebar, it's our Sunday walk place all year round.
Thanks for reply,would like to go again in the next couple of years to see how its changed in the 30 years since I last been but would like to go in the quiter months,me and the wife are going to maspalomas in gran canaria this year been 22 years since we last been there

It's tucked in just near the Laguna park hotel on 5 corners. Ii did mention it a couple of times in videos.. we got good reports from it last season, very central and not a long walk to the beach.

We're taking a flight to varna and then the long drive Sunny beach. Would like it more to Bourgas. It's not so far this way but not found a flight.
It swaps around, sometimes Plovdiv is good. Enjoy the ride over the mountain.

Hi, the pair of you. My Wife and I have always fancied coming to Sunny Beach. Watched a good few of your videos and now we have decided to give it a go and staying at the Melia that you mentioned in the video, trouble is a I am Partially Disabled and wondered if you could help out, do they have dropped kerbs and can you rent a Mobility scooter there. Luckily Sunny Beach is flat and almost everything is ground floor but there are high curbs , dropped in places and as they renovate more appear each week. We do see a good number of folk on scooters in the season .For hiring scooters contact Wayne Dooler, they have a huge fleet and are very helpful. Their facebook page is facebook.com/sbmhireltd .

A couple of great places round the corner we see scooters in often, Melia Cocktail Bar and the Iglika Bar. Melia has great cocktails , we are meeting them tomorrow to discuss having a Sunny Beach Life cocktail on the menu!

Not sure the weather is changeable, some cloud predicted. Been raining hard this morning.At the weekend a fair bit opens as it is Easter.

Great Ferris wheel. How much was the cost for a ride last year? I went to Nessebar last year and then I took a little train to Sunny Beach. There was some sort of an amusement park along the way. This summer maybe again, we usually go down south at Tsarevo, its like 70kms south from Burgas.
We think it was 15 leva on the wheel last year. There is a small park along the coastal road to Nessebar, it's got rides for children not thrilling adult rides.
I hope this year we are going to try it. There is another ferris wheel in Primorsko, but it's much smaller than that.

Kaminetsa is top brand , we like others too. They are pretty good.

Not yet! Looks like the Hyatt is going to be used as staff quarters again this year. The Sheraton is close, crane there yesterday lifting onto the roof, dont know what

I’m coming on 20th May but worried nothing is going to be open as seen a few comments on other videos of people saying some places are closed even in May? Do you think most things will be up and running by May 20th?
Don't pay attention to Facebook groups, all last season we had really upset people speaking to us about comments, remember some people enjoy causing upset. We filmed all season, yes it's quiet today obviously it's just opening but we will be filming again shortly. It's my birthday tomorrow, we have a great restaurant we love open plus our top bar as well. Sunny beach runs on charter flights, they start today so takes time to build the numbers. By last week of may it's all open as officially the season starts on June 1. Aqua Parks. , clubs , party boats etc cannot open till the schools and colleges close for the summer are there are few customers for them around 24th may. We will start holding our meet and greets around 21st as resort will be pretty busy.

@@helenmcdonagh2851 It will start to open up this weekend as Easter but the flights dont grow till the middle of May. However there are some great places that will be open for you this next week including the Iglika Bar and Mena Cocktail, our best places anyway. Look to go to Nessebar thats a good day out and plenty to see. We have been to Burgas today, love it with beach, parks and cafe culture.
