What I learned in this video: Yuri has cash advantage late game
This is the first time I've seen actual strategy in this game, instead of zerg rushing with cheap troops like I did when I was a kid. Subscribed.
I like a long battle. It's so cool for who collect and can save money first or not. Of course who can work strategy with economy, this one only win. And i like to destroy Massive enemy base in short time. It's really challenging.

From what I've seen so far I really think that it'll be super cool if you could do some pro tutorial series where you can kind of "label" different strategies and techniques and how to train/master them so it would be easier for one to organize their skillset. I'm surprised the Soviet player didn't send a Desolator or two to deploy over the cliffs and slow the slave miners down a bit.
I have always preferred playing Yuri, but never realized you could use the genetic mutator on yourself for money. Wow.
Neil Roy This strat is one of many that broke Yuri in FFA games and in duels or 2v2 it made Yuri's late game OP

@@MA-nx3xj It is, and not just because of the endless money thing. Being able to take over enemy troops is also a *_huge_* advantage, the other factions have nothing that can rival that.
Pro matches in this game are basically wars of attrition, at least early on, its almost like free form chess, calculated moves every step of the way, this is pretty amazing.

Yup cuz of that he can shit out a ton of mutations and let him eat these mutations for a huge amount of money so if the Gold field is run out hmm fucks given i have my mutations to feed for money easy game easy life ;D
@@larsglania9244 The Genetic Mutator infinite money exploit is certainly what tips it over the edge, but there's more to how broken the faction is than that. He doesn't just have a stronger economy anyway, but everything he has is generally more cost-effective than it's Soviet/Allied counterparts. This gives Yuri yet another advantage on the economic front.
But yeah, that's pretty much all a Yuri play needs to do; Stay on the defensive until the resources are dried up on the map, then simply swarm over any opponent once he's the only side that can maintain any kind of economy. It's lame design, TBH.
Other games that do this sort of thing, usually try to compensate by making the faction weaker at lower tiers (kind of a, push your advantage to take them out fast, or face the consequences, kind of deal), but this simply isn't the case with Yuri. With stuff like his artillery vessel not needing a tech centre, or his basic combat tank being equal or superior to that of the allies' in everyway, he maintains the early game advantage too.
Hey Bryan, I love your vids. Can I make a suggestion? Can you put the names of the players in the title or description, kinda like Yuri (playername) vs Iraq (playername)? I know is just a detail but it helps to remember their names if they appear in future videos.

actually yuri can also get regular inf from the cloning which will basically cost 100 per one...and add them to the mutator for 5 times cost refund!
Would it have been effective for him to use the nuke on the units or not? He could've used the helicopters to lure them in.
You could also use the nuke to throw it on your enemies army.

Don't people still use magnetrons with lasher tanks to spam pick up enemy tanks just long enough for the lashers to still fire? They used to do way more damage whilst tanks were being levitated!

after i have played with you and i got yuri i realized how noob i'm with yuri so i started playing yuri and i have defeated some good players on TOE it was so funny when you hunt the miner with the mega tank

Yuri was very broken even with super weapons on back in the day. These players were well matched for each other, but far from pro.
Their builds were far from optimal considering super weapons were turned on. Each player if they are controlling their miners from time to time should only need 4 miners to be able to get to a tech lab and still be building tanks non-stop.
-Both players floating 10k ore at one point
-Neither player optimizing miners by having them mine the patches closest to the miner
-No killing slaves with desolators
-No yuri prime used in an offensive push
*This can be used to make an offensive grinder against iron curtain terror drones and have a psy tower queued up to grind more units
-Yuri did not harvest gems until late, he was stretching base the wrong way, 3rd or 4th miner should've gone there
-Miners not transferred off of ore fields as ore was running out, which leads to inefficient mining
-Yuri can also create a cloning vat in the super late game, make initiates and genetic mutate them to brutes. It brings in almost double what you can make from slaves.
I'm sure I will get some people hating or down voting. But, I just wanted to point out that there are no more pro players at this game. The game play is very casual in comparison to when this game was at its peak back in the day.
All the same, I still love watching it and I hear EA may be re-releasing RA2/Yuris Revenge and were asking about what players would like to see. New UI, better balanced units/races, etc.

So why does nobody on yuri build lasher tanks? Arent they both higher damage and higher armor than gatling tanks?
Because they have the same stats as the Grizzly Tank. And Yuri has more utility units to use money for than just something weaker than a Rhino Tank.
Still though, there are certain circumstances where Lashers are useful, they just need to outpace the Rhino count.
IMHO ZigZag had to invest at least one Iron Curtain into cutting down disk population with flack trucks.
Tej is one of the best yuri's around, i should have probably mixed flak n drones in the ic's but as you can see, i barely got near him throughout the game, fights against yuri are very map dependent. If the Yuri is strong like my opponent here, they will win 90% of maps
If Yuri has superior army, why there is no attemp to base trade (attack along with MCV)?

Definitely should’ve used the nuke more on his units, could’ve created an opening for your helicopters or tanks to take out the structures.
Not good ending for the soviet... He invested so much building those crap Choppers that was nearly suicidal.

Didn't Westwood admit that Yuri was intentionally OP to make people play them? They just never rebalanced them.
* Eco - Their mining is the most efficient + eco late game they get the mutator + grinder. Soviets already had the eco advantage, now Yuri is another step ahead.
* Air - Discs are amazing at everything and have far too much armour.
* AA - Gatlings are just amazing at everything and work great with Levitation tanks.
* Artillery - Levitation tanks are insta-hit and outrange even Prisms!
* Mind control - Obviously OP, especially when they can outrange any unit and bring them to the mind control units.
* Virus - They get the UK special faction unit as a normal unit, but she's even better because she spreads damage
* Sea - Boomers are basically subs + dreadnoughts for the cost of 1 ship.
* Superweapons - The Yuri ultimate even hurts buildings and unlike the weather control and nuke is insta-hit. Completely OP.
COUNTERS: Robot tanks are the weakest unit in the game and have a single point of failure so they don't work. Soviet drones as you see in this video are useless because Yuri can just grind them.

So nice to see someone commentating Yuri games. But I have to be honest, I got dizi while you were clicking around all over the place. Try watching
LowkoTV play starcraft. you will see that there is a big difference between when he is casting and when he is playing.

If he would have gotten more value out of his nukes earlier, then he would have had more of a chance of winning.
Whats wrong here? At 1:21 the Soviet Ore Refinery is under the War Factory, 10 seconds later, it is next to it.
Idk if you figured it out but each refinery you build you get a miner for free then sell the old refinery, that's what happened here. It's cost and time efficient this way since you get money back for selling the refinery so it's as if you just paid for a miner anyway, unsure what % you get back for selling but it's cheaper this way.
This also frees up your vehicle queues to build military units instead of wasting time on miners and that's important early on. If you were to waste time building a miner in the vehicle factory this early in the game you're pretty much screwed against someone who knows how to play lol.

This is why Superweapons are important and why you shouldn't turn them off. This game would have been easily twice as long and stalematey and boring for half of it because outside of Superweapon usage they were so even for most of the game and right ontop of each other so well to where neither could really do anything. Even with Superweapon usage they were still pretty even.
ZigZag definitely wasted a lot of those Iron Curtains, he was clearly focusing else-where whenever he moved in those Terror Drones but that was really the most important thing he needed to do instead of focusing on other things and I think that really lost him the game. If he could have had better Iron Curtain control, he would've easily been able to pick off what he wanted in that base because there would've been a lot less Gattling Cannons and Tanks.
The yuri player constantly sent waves in order to make me waste the iron curtain on defense rather than use it on offense. there was 1 or 2 incidents where i shoud have sent thedrones elsewhere but im probably dealing with something else, the video happens to miss a lot of the gameplay.
Yeah, that's about what I was saying. It looked like you were focused elsewhere, but the problem is you really needed those Iron Curtains to deal as much damage as possible. There were many opportunities where your Terror Drones only got a couple units here or there when you had a whole pack of them. It seemed like you were just settling with getting rid of Masterminds and Magnetrons but you needed to do as much damage as possible. You just had a lot of missed opportunities. Imagine if some of the more early Iron Curtains were as successful as the one at ~7:50 (Although that one probably wasn't the most successful one in the game because they did successfully grind them all)
Having to play defensive was part of the issue too, I agree. You just never quite got that momentum you needed to dictate the pace of the game, which you really need on a Yuri. Way more-so than any other matchup.
I think this is just bullshit, Superweapons make Yuri even more op than he already is. Mutator is the best secondary superweapon as seen in the game and dominator is also the best because it is the only primary superweapon that can reliably hit armies...

6:50 Was expecting to see the helicopters deployed and the Iron Curtain used, probably would have won the game with all the damage it would cause.
Instead the curtains got continually used on a bunch of Terror Drones. This is HORRIBLE. Yuri gets a 100% refund on vehicles in the grinder, Soviet player sacrificed a bunch of $500 terror drones and several Iron Curtains to deal $0 of damage.

I think Iraq lost because of monotonous playing style, all he does is iron curtain terror drone, he could have iron curtain the helis, definitely will destroy yuri’s super weapons.
This game is still awesome till this day...but its NOT multiplayer mitirial.....the game was quit boring....mostly air and anti-air with some super weapons...

they get caught in the radius of a desolator deploy and they all die in a few seconds , so you wasted money and multiple gatling tanks to take out a couple desolators
