    Thank you so much for this recipe. My husband is a doctor, and he works all day and comes home exhausted. I made him this warm soup, and he loved it so much! I'm so happy I subscribed. My kids also loved this soup a lot. I'm half Japanese and half American. Since my mum is American and my dad is Japanese. Dad does not know much about Japanese food since he was adopted. Thank you so much!!

    Marion, you're an Asian cuisine goddess! So glad to have found you, I've learned so much and am so inspired to learn more. I've always been fascinated with Asian cooking and you're the first blogger I've watched that actually cooks authentically. I love how you teach about the authentic ingredients, and your chili oil is AMAZING. It's fiery hot and I can't get enough of it, I know you understand what I mean being a "spicy" woman! XXXXX!!

      Id use shiitake or enoki mushrooms if you cant find woodear, although id check to see if you cant find dried woodear, then you can just rehydrate them and add the liquid to the broth for extra flavor.

    • @tomh4244
      @tomh4244 3 года назад

      The whole flavor of the soup is based on the Bacon's fat, chicken won't have enough flavor and oil, won't be bad, but definitely not the same.

      It's pretty hard to undercook bacon. The good thing about bacon is once you see any color at all it is usually cooked through enough to be safe to eat because it's so thin.

    • @Rastus271262
      @Rastus271262 5 лет назад

      Bacon is a cured product and can be eaten without additional cooking.

    • @Smokey.Tackle
      @Smokey.Tackle 5 лет назад +1

      @@Rastus271262 Don't eat raw bacon. Even if it's cured, bacon can still go bad if it's not handled correctly, and you can't guarantee that your smoke-flavored baconhas been actually smoked to a safe internal temperature.

    • @Rastus271262
      @Rastus271262 5 лет назад

      @michael cross Hi Michael. Appreciate your comments. In my experience, bacon (in Australia) is generally cured in salt & spices etc., and is perfectly safe to eat as a cured product. However, as with any cured product, it should be consumed within a short timeframe after slicing. Exposure to the air/water starts the microbial process. If cured products were unsafe to eat without cooking then Ham, salami, chorizo and many other products would be in the same category. Bacon is however, much nicer with a bit of time in the pan or under a grill. Many chefs/cooks will eat cured bacon prior to adding to a dish, to test for flavour. Cheers.
