Giant is basically her life story. In the beginning, people were telling her, her low voice can't make it in Kpop. She literally went into the streets to sing to strangers just to get public opinion about her voice. The video of this was in one of the g-idle intro videos of her life.
Her voice is truly something from the heavens

Yay, glad you watched. To answer your questions… I don’t recall her having any additional solo songs (besides covers).
I don’t think she played guitar for this, but she does have a live stage with a live band for Bonnie & Clyde (which you NEED to watch. Rocker Yuqi in Tomboy era is like Nxde-era Shuhua or Senorita-era Soojin)
Yuqi’s written a number of B-sides for Idle and wrote the music for the last track for Miyeon’s solo.
I really really really hope you guys react to GIDLE's I NEVER DIE ALBUM. it was released this year, 2022 with TOMBOY as their title album, and it was the first album from gidle where ALLLLL of the songs were produced and written by the members. The main theme was rock so the songs are SOOOOOOOO good. TT
(you also have to know who wrote and produced each songs before listening to them, as this album really emphasised Minnie, Yuqi, and Soyeon's style of production in music)
She has my favorite vocals in Kpop tbh. I've fallen asleep while listening to her covers so many times, I love her so much!
from what I know, she wrote both her songs, and the songs she wrote mostly in the recent gidle albums are both very rock-ish, or ver focalised on instrumentals. Different to Minnie and Soyeon's kind of producing too. I love yuqi-produced songs TT
Yes Yes, more Yuqi! Please react to her covers of EASY ON ME (Adele), RISE UP (Andra Day), SHALLOW (Lady Gaga & Bradely Cooper), and BEGGIN (Maneskin). Her voice is so sexy, and her true rock & roll style always sneaks out in her solo performances. She actually has her own rock band made up of 3 young ladies and a male drummer. Her guitar intro for Tomboy at this year's MMA was amazing. I think it was Soyeon that said gidle would be boring if it wasn't for Yuqi, that says a lot.

Great reaction to my favorite voice in K-pop. How talented. Chinese born, a star in K-pop, doing two amazing songs in English. There is a live version of these two songs that is incredible with a big surprise at the end showing how even more talented she is.
She co-wrote and co-composed Giant, but not Bonnie & Clyde.
Either way, the way she sings them is great.

if not mistaken, Yuqi went to a very prestigious school in China since she was little. during that time she probably learned good English and that's why she is quite proficient in English. that might be also why she chose to make these 2 singles as English songs.

I know most people prefer Bonnie & Clyde over Giant but Giant is the song for me. The lyrics, the music, the feels and the meaning are just amazing. And not to forget the animations in the MV. As you rightfully mentioned those are beautiful and they complement the song so much! I love Bonnie & Clyde dearly but Giant always goes straight to my heart

There are loads of metaphors to take away from Giant. The mirror is literally the way you see yourself. What happens to you when people lie to you while you are young and impressionable, and tell you that you are worthless all your life? That's the broken mirror.
When you are finally so deep into depression that you are stuck at the bottom, stuffed into a box, can't move, that's when you do your deepest inner thinking. SOME people find strength in themselves while others, sadly, don't make it out of that hole. But once you see yourself clearly (you have fixed the mirror, or how you see yourself, by getting to the truth past what the liars told you) and distance yourself from the liars who put you in that place, you can move on with your life.
After that, you will have better insight when new people try to lie and tell you that you are not good enough, since you have already been in situations with that kind of people. What does not kill you makes you stronger. You can become the better person, you grow and change and adapt. YL, YL.

Bonnie and Clyde reminds me of her bond with the Gidle members and their dreams and aspirations. Especially because this dropped around the time Soojin got caught up in that bs scandal.
Speaking of Gaga-ish, you should check out her cover of Shallow. It is an absolute MUST listen. It was the song cover that made me realize how insanely talented she is as a vocalist and is not just good but great.

Wish you guys saw the Chinese live stage for Giant during the Stage Boom competition. They had to cut a lot when they translated the song from Chinese to English

yuqi wrote and produced giant in 3 days, but didn't have anything to do with the production or writing side of bonnie & clyde. iirc the writers of bonnie & clyde said that the relationship is supposed to be between the singer and their music, not a relationship between two people which is why yuqi is the only one in the video~ giant was originally written in chinese but yuqi decided to make the official release english instead, so both versions exist. she has no other solo songs, but plenty of covers that you should check out!

Yuqi's character in Bonnie & Clyde could be simply bipolar to a huge extent or she could actually have DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder, previously called Split Personality). There is a scene where she sees the mirror break while she aimed her finger-gun at it and 'fired'. But later in the video as she is about to leave the apartment, she sees that the mirror is still in one piece, very much NOT broken; she had only imagined it broken. So now, she has to figure out just how much of this she had been dreaming and how much was actually real. Some of the lyrics match that.
Bonnie and Clyde is inspired by the story of dr jekyll and mr hyde in my opinion
