"Hann" was the song where everyone started realizing that (G)I-DLE were not one-hit wonders, and started realizing that Jeon Soyeon was the real deal as a songwriter and producer, not just as a top-tier rapper.
fun fact: the "hann" part before the chorus wasn't originally there, but miyeon suggested to soyeon to add that part to give the song more impact
soojin was a gem, outstanding dancing and stage presence, with such a sexy and cool appeal

WHO THE HECK SAID THIS SONG WAS UNDERATED😭 this song is one of their best song and the fact that its their first ever comeback. I still remember people were react to them and a lot of them saying they feel like they’re not rookies that day. (G)I-DLE is absolutely fantastic! If you loved Hann, you will also love Hwaa, Oh My God, and Lion. They are all of a similar vibe IMHO. They also have lighter, more fun/summer songs like: Latata, Uh-Oh and Dumdi Dumdi. My Bag is a rapping, swag masterpiece of attitude. Enjoy your (G)I-dle journey!!!!

Soyeon had stated that there is a trilogy of songs related to each other:
HANN (Alone)
HANN (Alone in Winter) - Bside and intro to
HWAA - Which can mean both fire and flower.
Some info about HANN:
-Their first digital single release after their 1st album and debut. With the release of their 4th album, Soyeon explained that for this is actually a trilogy song/story. She said that in order to follow it, you should listen to HANN (Alone) >> HANN (Alone in Winter) >> HWAA.
-Soyeon wanted a song with a one-word title and came up with HANN which can mean "one or by oneself" leading to "ALONE".
-The story is about their love being betrayed by someone, and they are being strong saying "I will forget you".
-You are right about the mourning since black veil and clothing represents someone's death, thus it is the death of that someone from their heart and mind. The barren desert and forgotten ruins also connects to this. A dead tree can mean no life or hope. While the colorful scene and oasis represents life and hope. You also noticed the flower blooming in the desert.
-It is said that the scorpion is that someone who betrayed and hurt them. They tried to be close to it so much only to sting them. BUT this is knowing that it is in the nature of the scorpion to sting, and yet they still wanted to touch it. They braved that pain by licking the wound and capturing it. You can see that they even captured the scorpion in a glass jar (which I can explain once you watched the trilogy).
~~some fun facts~~
-The scorpion in indeed real! Soyeon was really trying to poke it and it was too aggressive during the shoot. She and the staff were so scared, but when the music started she went all professional mode. Yuqi is scared of it too even though it's inside the jar.
-The whistle is actually done by Minnie. If you hear a whistle in an IDLE song, that's her.
-Red hair Soojin is iconic. Their choreo vid for this is amazing.
-SHUHUA, the pretty one you want the most, is indeed the face of the group. She's so damn beautiful that even Soyeon said that she is "PURE BEAUTY". And she is the real inspiration of the trilogy song since she resembles a strong female protagonist according to Soyeon.
-Soyeon actually have bangs on their white dress scenes, but it was too quick and few to notice
(G)I-DLE became my favorite group in k-pop so fast after their debut that it gave me whiplash. They're really putting their stamp on the industry and there's so much to check out in that regard. I'm always so excited to see what they do next because they've never had a comeback that isn't well thought out imo
Soyeon's full of ideas, she's so fucking creative and not afraid to break boundaries which you will see a lot of.
The girl you kept saying was gorgeous was Shuhua, the youngest. She doesn't have as many lines as the others, but I'm so glad she still stood out to you! She is, indeed, gorgeous and such a talented dancer and she always gives us The Visuals.

HANN is one of the first songs that "officially" got me into kpop back in 2018, I was so obsessed with this song (still am tbh) because it's just incredible 😍🥺

They have a special vibe that is TOTALLY boss. The theatricality of what they do is another level. There are no G-idle soft murmurs. Every move they make is a grand vast statement!! They're making GRAND STATEMENTS!!! Wait til you see them on live stages.
I'm so excited to see you guys fall in love with (G)I-DLE! They are on another level for real. They even have a producer/writer line with Minnie, Yuqi, and Soyeon. Soyeon is the main producer, having produced and written the majority of their songs. Soyeon is the first girl that u see in this video and also the rapper. Great reaction
There’s really no bad choices with (G)I-DLE. I recommend reacting to Lion & Tomboy if you’re not familiar with, they are top tier. Both show amazing sides to their talent and power.

Gidle's early sound is still so fresh and fascinating. I like that Soyeon keeps trying new things. It's always a surprise, but the "Hann", "Senorita", "Blow Your Mind", "Uh-oh" era sound is *chef's kiss*

GIDLE is my fav group. Very unique/compelling origin story, eclectic group of members, self-producing, original concepts, unique sound, and also, EXTREMELY FUNNY. Like straight clownsssss. To me they are funniest group out right now. Their group dynamic is so hilarious, just a whole cast of characters. Can’t wait til you get to the Put It Straight (nightmare version) Queendom performance part of your deep dive.

"Uh Oh!" was the first gidle song I heard (kinda old school hip hop, boom bap vibe) and HANN was the second. After listening to this I decided I was gonna stan this group and I was not let down! They have come out with so many bangers and I'm truly happy that you are going on this musical journey!

i miss soojin T__T hoping they can reunite as 6 someday. her charisma in this song (plus her stunning red hair) was what first got me interested in g-idle
For me this is still their best song ever even though I like Tomboy a lot. It has just never gotten old after four years.
I think one of the reason this song became somewhat ‘underrated’ title track of theirs was the fact that it’s pretty old song (their first comeback ever) combined with the nature of the song that rather melancholic. We still see latata or uh oh performed a lot these days but not Hann, since probably it doesn’t excite audience that much. Thank you for reacting to this though, this probably still the title track I cherished the most. All the newer songs are good too, but this still holds the place as my favourite.
