    Thanks for your video. Regarding included seat reservations, if I plan to go from Kyoto to Himej and to Nara and Osaka, then I will need to choose 1 destination to use the 2 reserved seats (roundtrip) and for the other destinations I will need to purchase seat reservations, right? Can I redeem the Kansai area pass voucher outside of Kansai...for example in Haneda Airport or Tokyo Station? Thanks.

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, for your first question, Yes, you need to purchase only the reserved seating ticket for other destination after you have used up 2 reserved seats. Remember, you don't have to purchase the base fare because it is cover by the pass. But you can also take the non-reserved seat for your other destination and it is free. The only downside is that if all the seats are taken, you have no choice but to stand throughout the journey or until the next stop if some passengers disembark the train.
      For the redeem of Kansai Area Pass outside of Kansai area, yes, you can redeem it based on the below link:
      www.jr-odekake.net/eki/global/en/howto/train-reservation/receive/station

    Hello, I would like to ask. I'm planning to use the Kansai Rail Pass from Osaka Station to Fukuchiyama Station. Fukuchiyama station is not covered by the pass but the train will pass until Sasayamaguchi station which is covered by the rail pass. Do I need to tap out in Sasayamaguchi station using the pass and ride again going to Fukuchiyama? Or is it possible to tap out in Fukuchiyama station and pay for the fare difference? I'm confused with this part. Thank you :)

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hello, there are a few ways to do this.
      1. If the train is has non-reserved seat, you can just take the train to Fukuchiyama station and go to the station staff to pay the fare difference.
      2. If the train is reserved seat, reserved the seat to Fukuchiyama station (im not 100% sure whether you can reserve using the pass until Fukuchiyama station) but if can, same with the above, go to the station staff and pay the fare difference. If can't, No 4. will be the better option.
      3. Simply purchase the full fare ticket from Osaka station to Fukuchiyama station.
      4. To save money, tap out a Sasayamaguchi station, and buy the ticket to Fukuchiyama station, as the fare will be calculated only from Sasayamaguchi station to Fukuchiyama station only.
      Hope it help, sadly i can't confirm on No2 on whether you can reserve the seat to Fukuchiyama station using the pass.

    Hi, I have a question regarding this Kansai Area Pass. I plan to stay for 7 days in Kansai.
    (1) Can I purchase both 3-days and 4-days passes at the same time?
    (2) If purchasing two passes at the same time is possible, does it mean I simply need to "activate" 4-days pass on 1st day, then "activate" 3-days pass on 5th day?
    (3) If I buy two passes like that, will I get two sets of daily passes? (so 3 daily passes for first period of 4-days, and another 3 daily passes for second period of 3-days)
    Thanks!

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  Месяц назад +1

      Hi, that's a good question.
      (1) Purchase them separately. The system only allow you to purchase different day pass at one time. After purchasing log in again to purchase.
      (2) Once you purchase separately, you can set the activation day differently.
      (3) The daily passes come with each pass.

      It is better to exchange the vouchers on the first day of the 4 days validity of the pass. As you can plan on how to use the pass within the 4 days period, instead of 3 or 2 days. Remember you can only use the 3 passes each for 1 day only (Kyoto City Subway, Keihan Railway, or Hankyu Railway). Not for the full 4 days period. If I will be staying in Osaka and visiting Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, and Himeji for Tuesday-Saturday…. Is it better to get Wide Area Pass?

    • @simplifytravel
      @simplifytravel  4 месяца назад

      Hmm...from Tue-Sat, it's about 5 days, only Wide Area Pass cover 5 days.
      Below are some thoughts:
      1. If you don't mind not using the pass for that one day, i might choose the Kansai Area pass as it is cheaper.
      2. The longest distance is from Osaka to Himeji, which take about 1hr 3mins using Kansai Area Pass. (cannot use Shinkansen), if you don't mind the long ride to and from, then cheaper Kansai Area Pass is the chose. Unless you will travel much further distance.
      3. I think the main advantage of getting the Kansai Wide Area pass, is using the faster Shinkansen ride, Hello Kitty train, and the unlimited reservation of train, and for much further distance. Whereas Kansai Area Pass, only allow 2 reservation, and cannot take any Shinkansen train.
      Hope it help with your decision.
