@@jzlgbldn1242 He was away a lot because of his talent and his girl and him had problems, but he came to realize that it was better to set her free because she couldnt handle him gone all of the time. First she cried, but then he cried when he realized he would not be her husband. Their love was a rose and he came to realize. Sometimes its just roses dying too young.

The tuning for this version of the song is D# A# D F A# D#, and capo on the 7th fret.
But it's tuned a little sharp.(Reference tone A pitch = 445 ish). So just tune it a little sharper then you normally would.

+Mathias Birkeland You could always tune all this a half step down and just put the capo on the 8th fret. The Tallest Man on Earth uses really light gauge strings so it's easy for him to do these weird tunings lol.

I think this song deserves a 1000000000000000000000000 views. I have watched this song more than 500 times and I was introduced to this song by a Car commercial (2014) in India. This song was in the background and I instantly fall in love. I hope they paid you for the copyright.
Just like me, I was introcuded to this song back in 2012 by a commercial tv of the Ford Ecosport here in Brazil. Just like you I feel in love in the first moment I heard it. Still one of my favorites ever.
I hadn't listened to this song for a while. But today woke up suddenly at 5 am after dreaming about it and immediately had to listen to it
I can't take it anymore, this music is just perfect. All from one man. There is at least 4 songs now he has that has this infectious way of just making me smile when I hear a specific lick from it. Sometimes it's uncontrollable like some laughing gas just got dropped right next to me. It's ridiculous. I've actually laughed out loud while listening to his music because it was just so perfect I couldn't believe it. Am I crazy?

Loving this acoustic version, you can hear the chords so much more clearly.
The studio-version is one of mye least favorites on his new album (even though I don't think it's a BAD song), but when performed in this stripped down accoustic way, it's suddenly clear that it's actually an amazing song. This guy never cease to mesmerize me!

he never does studio recording so I'd be willing to bet that this song was recorded just as shown in the video and therefore he used the guitar that he is playing in the video. those random walking around parts are probably just video overlays.

not sure exactly what he is playing in this video but he usually plays furch guitars. he also has a guild f20 that he plays a lot but he's not playing that one in this video.

I just saw him in St. Louis at The Pageant, he was utterly amazing, I couldn't tell you a bad thing about the concert. Strand of Oaks was very decent as well, a good mix they had.
