It’s not just Battle League, but this is probably the worst Mario Sports game on switch. I gave up after the first hour because there was nothing new 😭
I mean, battle league could be your generic mario spin off game and nobody would care but waiting this long after playing charged in your childhood... this hits hard :c
music is the most disappointing for me like yeah this series core genre will always be rock but what made it stick was all the other cool genres they throw in aswell this especially hurt character themes because now most of them sound the same
Another problem is Nintendo will think no one is interested in Mario Strikers now. Which could mean we dont get another new Strikers game for a while or if ever.

I got blasted for comparing this game to Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, but this is the Ultra Smash of Mario Strikers. 15 years fans waited for a glorified tech demo. And honestly? I'd call this game worse than Ultra Smash because say what you will about that game being empty and soulless, but it had actual variety, modes, and even stuff to unlock. Battle League? All the modes are the same, there's only one stadium, and the personality of the series has been sanitized. It does nothing new, nothing at all to push the series forward. And if anything, all it's done has tainted the series and Mario Sports as a whole, to the point where people don't even want a new Mario Sports game anymore. I hate this game. And quite frankly, it's my most hated game of all time.

I want more Mario strikers charged, but for the actual amount of content, and compared to the legendary charged iteration, it’s hard to justify spending the money despite wanting to support the Mario strikers franchise
It’s ashamed all of the Mario sports games for the past 10 years have been bad. Really hoping Nintendo gets their act together with them because nobody likes playing a game with 16 characters and hardly anything to do.

Honestly this game is a banger absolutely incredible putting aside flaws like a small roster arenas, drip fed content at the time, this ones of the games that is a must to bring when youre at a friends house, im in my late 20's and i still have the tradition of gathering with my friends at their home bring the console and have everyone play at the same time, the chaos this game brings is unmatched, and i understand that in places like the states you guys are more used to play online and the game highlights its flaws when youre playing alone (regardless of solo or online play) but when friends surrounds you (irl) the vibe is similar to when smash is being played.
I think that's fair honestly. My only major issue is how compared to the older version (charged) this one just seems like a blatant cash grab without much thought put into it. I play many games that the community considers "bad" that when I play with friends is a complete blast. So I completely understand!
@@Lemon_Milk yeah it kinda seems like a cash grab though i bought it day one, i bought it not because the series are good or anything, i bought it cuz my friends and i used to play mario strikers on the gamecube so i knew , it was a good purchase and i bought it cuz i wanted to play with my friends, played alone, both off and online and i couldnt stomach it, and the game collects dust always, unless i play with my friends and the game alongside with mario kart and smash becomes part of the trifecta of fun lol.
The game has a good base but its lacking polish and content. If the game had at least one more year of development and more content while being more polished it would have been amazing. I do agree that playing this locally with friends is a blast especially 8 player mode is insanely fun. Its definitely a great party game. Its also one of my top local party games along with smash,mario kart and mario party. However having this local party sessions isnt a regular thing and thats why online can partially make up for it when youre playing alone. But this is also why what upsets me the most is that you cant even play 8 players online. I mean you technically can but only when there are 2 players per switch and that pretty much never happens online. And considering AI teammates are morons it makes it even more frustrating playing that way when having real player teammates instead of AI would easily fix it but its not even there. If this game had 8 player online option, more items,more characters,more fields that arent just grass, stage hazards with the option of turning them off,more options overall it could have been amazing even when just online alone.
