I do the opposite. I have to drive extra fast and I will consistently get within an inch of the curbs in order to show that I'm able to control the car within fine margins. If I drive too safe, he assumes it's because im not confident and im scared, which must mean im a bad driver.
I have watched this all the way through at least once and it makes me tear up the more I watch. This is such a nice thing they did for the man for his service to the community. What a great honor!
I love that there was no computer in the vehicle and not once did the radio go off. Now that is how the chief rides. You want him you better have a good reason and and even then your riding the thin blue line. Just saying. He seems like a very well like man and put together but he is also all business at the same time. I guess this is why he made chief right? Well good luck on your retirement chief and im sure your community and all of your police department will miss you and learned alot from you that will carry through that dept and streets of the law enforcement you once controlled under your command. Bless you and your family.
Man those final radio calls always make me emotional. Happy retirement, chief. I might not live in America, but i can't wait to be a police officer myself. Hearing about your long career only makes me wish mine will be just as long.
Nvr meet the chief but congrats as we all know there is a handful of OFFICERS state and worldwide that nvr got the chance to REACH retirement. Chico PD stay 10-8 and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
Man, imagine the look on someone's face though had that been an actual stop. Plenty of folks claim to know this really important fella or that well-to-do lady. Imagine someone claiming to know the Chief of Police just as the man or woman in question walks up to the passenger window to say hi. Thanks for the vid, Chico. And thanks for your service, Chief.
I remember my father who was a chief on his last day after 32 years and I had 5 years working for him. Then the saddest day when we laid him to rest. I have heard Taps played a thousand times but when you hear it for your father that will bring the strongest to his knees. Miss you day.
Congratulations to Chief O'Brian, I don't know this man but I've watched the video and it appears that he represented himself in a proud way I have the up most respect for an officer like him. Thank you for your many years of service. Enjoy your retirement
I have been waiting for a new video. Public perception of law enforcment is down. These guys should be doing this more often to humanize the badge! Keep it up!
Regardless, we are professionals. We will stand solemnly and take it on the jaw. We will still be standing when the public calls for us. That is the oath we took; to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC, an to fulfill our duty. I hope the public sees that.
Thank U Chief for everything u've done for us Peace and blessing for u and ur Blessed Family and the rest of Chico police here in Chico California we got great support keep up the hard Work guys Thanks Again Respects for u guys
I want to possibly be a police officer. I wish they could have asked him what he would say to someone like me. He seems like an amazing, caring man. God bless him.
I imagine he would say, think hard about it because it's not for everyone, if you decide to do it, it's hard but very much worth it, and good luck and stay safe.
from a guy who recently retired from the construction industry, (where you just go home one day and dont go back to work) this was 1st class for someone who made a difference
Thank you Chief for your loyalty and great service to Chico! Living in Sacramento and having family in Yuba, Chico & Paradise, your retirement means a lot! May all your future endeavors after retirement be graceful and relaxing! Godspeed, Chief.

Have a great retirement Chief!.. Thanks for all your years of Service...
It's like driving with your dad in the car. You have to pretend that you drive safe and slow all the time.
and the seat belts
truth
🤣🤣

I can only imagine what the peoples face when they ask for a supervisor and the Chief is there 😂
The idiots who demand a supervisor are most likely too dumb to understand how rare that would actually be.
Well the us being the chiefs boss that's who we should get.
Haha
@@chainsaw_monday shut up

Chris Madison what do you mean... top demorats are supporting these riots and violence against police.
Regardless, we are professionals. We will stand solemnly and take it on the jaw. We will still be standing when the public calls for us. That is the oath we took; to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC, an to fulfill our duty. I hope the public sees that.

Way to go!! Congratulations!!
Lol too imagine having the chief right next to you
Good to see you guys alive and kicking.
Though, when was this record?
With all those wildfires this has to be before all that chaos.
It was June 25th you can hear 9/25 on last radio call
June 25, but hear 9/25? How does that make sense? 😅
It actually sounds like it says his final sign off was on 6/5/20, but that doesn't mean that this was when it was recorded. Could have been before, or after, who knows.
Very respectable man and police chief.
Happy retirement chief!
