I only carry one radio on my person. I have it mounted on my armor, and it has a microphone connected to it. The cable runs from the radio, through my armor, to the mic on my chest. This makes it to where I don’t have to grab the radio in order to speak or hear. This is extremely common all over the country. Does that answer your question?

Hello, I am an armed guard in Canada and have always wanted to pursue a career in policing, this is my first time watching your videos and I find them very educational. I am glad to find an officer filming the everyday job and what I can expect if I pursue this as a career, keep up the great work!

You first need to obtain a non-restricted (rifles, shotguns) license course, pass the mental and physical tests, then you have to apply for a restricted (handguns, revolvers) license pal course, pass both tests. Then you have the paperwork to obtain both licenses. The rules are still very strict, If you already owned a handgun before the ban you still are allowed to own it, if you try and get one now after the ban it becomes a lot harder, but where I am an armed guard I have conditions that I can still try and obtain a handgun if I wanted.
I love the new Explorers with the option of the rear “radar” and it alerts you when someone comes walking up behind you, it locks your car and rolls up your windows!
Hello Officer Ryder, Well, my job working in the receiving dept. in my company is similar to yours. There are days that is quite and calm and then all of the sudden we get multiple shipments to process and receive. It gets really crazy there during those moments. I always said that our department is like a police officer, from calm regular days to high speed chases and dangers. I worked Security at a Marijuana Dispensary and one of the Budtenders accidentally hit the silent alarm. No one knew about it until the County Sheriff department showed up with rifles out and started walking around the outside of the dispensary. I walked out the doors and started talking with them.

I’m just a regular person as well. That’s the point:). I got tired of losing various bits of equipment because they got caught in the seatbelt. I do put it on when I’m headed to a hot call. I do not make traffic stops for seatbelts😁
Dang man, surprised to see you driving a Caprice in late 2022. Even the small departments near me here in NC have gotten rid of all those. Also stay safe out there, Im hoping to start blet here in March.
This caprice was a detective car before it was used to get to and from training classes. It’s not in the patrol fleet, and the city is about to auction it as soon as I get my new unit
I live in Brevard County FL; one of the more populated counties in the state; and they still have quite a few Crown Vics, 6th Gen Dodge Chargers and Impalas. Then they also have brand new ‘23 Chevy Tahoes and Explorers 😂

I really enjoyed this, it's been a thought of mine since I was a kid how cool it would be to go on a ride along. it's kind of like I did.😎 i've been known to pull alongside a parked cop on occasion, roll the window down and just thank them for being out there. Surely they don't get that enough but it makes me feel good that they can personally hear they're appreciated.

I don’t think it’s impossible. Just be completely honest and up front. Remember, they can see all that. Offer them copies of the police reports. That’ll help. Make it happen! And thank YOU for YOUR service

@2:30 No blinker and speeding 20 mph over the limit.. 2 months ago i got pulled over for doing 80 mph on the highway and the ticket was 170$, it was my first ticket too. Anyway, that was a great video, keep it up and stay safe!

Feel out the admin when you speak with them. I’d they’re easy going or you feel like you jive with them that’s a good sign. Money isn’t everything. You want to enjoy working. If one of them gives you a take home car that is a huge bonus. Ask how many people are on a shift. You want as much backup as you can get and you don’t want to be hammered with calls all shift. If I think of something else I’ll let you know
Very cool video. I always wondered how you get in and out of those vests. There's so much stuff on them. It must me universal for fleet vehicles. I'm always getting into a vehicle at work and the gas tank is between the E and 1/4.
Glad you finally got an answer! Lol. And yea our policy says we’re required to fill them up if they’re below 3/4. Sometimes things happen at the end of shift tho. But the good news is I don’t have to worry about that at all anymore. I have my own unit
That’s a tourniquet. In the event I, or someone else, finds themselves bleeding out from a limb, I can place that on the limb and tighten it down to stop the bleeding

Just wondering what time you typically wake up in the morning. I'm looking into getting into Law Enforcement but I'm not really a morning person (my body would just have to adjust to it but I'm just wondering)
We work from 6-6 days and nights every other month. So I wake up around 0430-0500 when I’m on days. If your agency swaps from days to nights, then you’ll never be used to a sleep schedule. I just sleep when I’m tired lol! I’m not a morning person either. Most of us aren’t, so you won’t be alone

i've been known to pull alongside a parked cop on occasion, roll the window down and just thank them for being out there. Surely they don't get that enough but it makes me feel good that they can personally hear they're appreciated.

Hello! Another Viking! At my agency, a warning is a verbal interaction. Some places have actual paper warnings they fill out. Where I work, we don’t have a statistic for a warning. Does that answer your question?

Hey, thanks for the video it was informative and I enjoyed it. I’ve wanted to be a cop since I can remember. I got pulled over recently 😂 and the conversation I had with the officer revived that dream of wanting to be a cop. Still got a few years left till I’m able to start trying.

I don’t think it’s impossible. Just be completely honest and up front. Remember, they can see all that. Offer them copies of the police reports. That’ll help. Make it happen! And thank YOU for YOUR service

You were right originally. The sticker in the windshield for texas people is the registration (which requires an inspection + valid insurance to get).
Haha I knew it was one or the other. It’s in the spot where our LA inspection stickers go

@2:30 No blinker and speeding 20 mph over the limit.. 2 months ago i got pulled over for doing 80 mph on the highway and the ticket was 170$, it was my first ticket too.

Yea that wasn’t on purpose which is why I slowed down. Hadn’t gotten used to the caprice yet, and she wants to roll lol. I left it in because I’m just a person like you. It happens. Thank you so much for this amazing video. Currently doing the hiring process for two departments and I’m in the final stages for both of them. Do you have any advice about what to look for in a good department ?
Feel out the admin when you speak with them. I’d they’re easy going or you feel like you jive with them that’s a good sign. Money isn’t everything. You want to enjoy working. If one of them gives you a take home car that is a huge bonus. Ask how many people are on a shift. You want as much backup as you can get and you don’t want to be hammered with calls all shift. If I think of something else I’ll let you know

It must me universal for fleet vehicles. I'm always getting into a vehicle at work and the gas tank is between the E and 1/4.
Glad you finally got an answer! Lol. And yea our policy says we’re required to fill them up if they’re below 3/4. Sometimes things happen at the end of shift tho. But the good news is I don’t have to worry about that at all anymore. I have my own unit

That’s a tourniquet. In the event I, or someone else, finds themselves bleeding out from a limb, I can place that on the limb and tighten it down to stop the bleeding

Just wondering what time you typically wake up in the morning. I'm looking into getting into Law Enforcement but I'm not really a morning person (my body would just have to adjust to it but I'm just wondering)
We work from 6-6 days and nights every other month. So I wake up around 0430-0500 when I’m on days. If your agency swaps from days to nights, then you’ll never be used to a sleep schedule. I just sleep when I’m tired lol! I’m not a morning person either. Most of us aren’t, so you won’t be alone
