Not a question for the troopers, but, back in 2006 I had a great interaction with a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper... I was driving cross country from Oregon to NY and stopped just outside of Park City and was sleeping in my car... I was moving back to NY so I had everything I owned in my car... I was woken up at some ungodly hour by some gentle taping on my driver's window... I saw it was a trooper and my heart sank... I was just thinking that I really couldn't afford a ticket but the trooper wasn't there to write a ticket, he was just making sure I was ok and that I didn't need any help... I told him I was good and what my plans were for the rest of the week...he was super nice and just told me to have a safe trip home... just thought I'd share that interaction with everyone here...
Completely agree! I'm a horse person too (been riding since I was a kid and mom owns a few!) I was sooooo happy to see the trooper was there to escort him on such a dangerous road.
Just to make sure, you Guys are talking about the dude that got sentenced and put on the brady list for falsifying documents, fired from two departments in a row, right?
Thanks for enforcing equipment violations like that Jeep! My question is could we do a ride with the hive with the commercial vehicle enforcement division? I think it would be good for us to know common violations found on commercial trucks; such as not having chains when required.
Most of the time they will have a chain check point when chains are required. And most states scales check for chains during the months they are required to be onboard.
@@zdwade I have had.. way too many videos from my trucking friends reporting of tires in bad condition (bald, punctured, etc).. and the companies fighting him to go on the road anyway. Thank you for sharing this video with the public. Most of us do not realize how many lives are saved by K-9s. These K-9s are trained to find people, good and bad, to find drugs, weapons, bombs, injured people who are not visible to the naked eye, etc.
Took care of an elderly couple, and they owned a Mustang. Meridian Idaho. Rock was an amazing trail horse. He was broken, trained, and he navigated the wilds much better than a quarter horse he said, because of Rock grew up in the wild. Thank you.
I retired a year ago from our District Court. I was with District before Justice courts took Highway Patrol traffic cases. I was always very impressed with the way officers handled themselves in stressful situations. Our city , county, and state officers are always never fully appreciated for the job they face every day. A big thank you guys and gals for a job well done.❤

Woah great show! The black SUV getting pulled over for the middle lane violation, Always thought that was a gray area of the law, didn't know about the 500 feet. Good to know for the future!
As a commercial driver who has had 2 positive encounters with Commercial Vehicle troopers this past year I think it’d be awesome to see an episode riding around with them. Shout out to Trooper Horton in Iron County. Good dude!

Maybe doing a ride with the hive with one of the newest troopers to see what they are doing. Helping to give an idea to those looking to apply.
Yeah, new cars light up the dashboard whether or not your headlights are on. And daytime running lights are a lot better than they used to be. Between those two things it may look like your headlights are on when they're not, so a lot of people don't even know their tail lights aren't working.
Thank you!! I wish everybody who uses the turn lane as a passing lane would get cited! Glad to see the new channel. Well done. Does your K9 always ride along for traffic duty? (Long day)
I hope the firefighters are okay with a dog in their station. I mean when their asleep, because they probably all want to give that dog a ton of attention! :D
Another great episode! I've been meaning to stop by the murray substation to ask a trooper.. but maybe it can be answered on an upcoming Q&A segment. With Utah's somewhat new law about Zipper Merging, the way the statute is written it only specifies that Zipper Merging should occur when two lanes of travel merge into one.. Does this now mean that on limited access inter and intrastate highways the on-ramp traffic no longer must yield to the traffic in the #1 Lane? Because technically the on-ramp is a lane of travel that merges into the #1 lane (slow lane), so now traffic in the #1 and on-ramp must alternate right of way at the merge point? (Statute for reference) Effective 5/4/2022 41-6a-903.1. Right-of-way -- Zipper merge. A Tesla captures everything in 360 degrees all the time. If you honk it will even copy the latest videos in a special folder that does not get overwritten when the USB stick fills up. Great for when someone cuts you off or road rages, and says it they did not, or it was not them.
In the section with the Jeep when the driver got out of the vehicle there were at least 15(stopped counting after that) cars that appear they could've gotten over to the left lane and didn't.
I have to admit. We have a light that flashes yellow ( in the college off season) but turns red, green when college is in. I have ran the red before. Its only a light for ppl crossing no cross streets.
I greatly enjoy this series and the tremendous professionalism of all the troopers. My question would be why do LEOs sometimes ask to see registration during a traffic stop. Wouldn't that information come up on their computer anyway? Thanks!
It would be great if all police officers and troopers handled all stops this way. Way to go, Trooper Agin! As nice as you are, I hope to never meet you at a traffic stop.
Focus on the traffic light in front of you being green, not the cross-traffic light turning yellow or red. And, if you're the first car stopped in line, pause for a moment when your light turns green and verify that cross traffic has indeed stopped before you proceed. I know someone who didn't and had their car forward of the firewall destroyed by a driver from the left running their red. Another split second and it would have been the everything forward of the trunk.
I often see colored lights (red, green, blue, etc) facing the front of the vehicle. This is in violation of DOT code but seems to be much more frequent these days. Wouldn't this also technically include the logo lights of UBER and LYFT? Are those also in violation of DOT code? Thanks, I enjoy these ridealong videos with Hive.
