Very detailed and thorough! I ended up replacing my heater hose with the Z1 Aluminum coolant bleeder port because mine failed on me and caused the car to overheat leaving me stranded on highway. I also replaced heater hose pipes. Following your video was helpful to do to the coolant bleed and flush. Thanks!
Great tutorial. I did the service on my M37 at 30,000 miles, and did everything in the video. At 70,000 miles I drained the coolant again and it looked brand new. So I just refilled it with new coolant and didn't even bother cleaning out the expansion tank. So easy on this car, especially if you use the spill proof funnel. Just make sure you watch for splashing when it drains since it make a mess.
Just make sure to service your coolant based on time and or mileage, not just miles. Check the PH of the coolant and if it’s below 7 it’s become to acidic and will start eating away at your cooling system. As far as time goes, every 3 years is usually sufficient. If you’ve driven a lot of miles in less than three years it’d be wise to change it prior to that.
Just did mine today along with an oil change and air filter change. Worked very well. Only mess I made was when the vent on the radiator dripped when I was refilling - but it was just a little and didn't get on the belts. And just a note to those that don't have that funnel - don't worry about it - a regular funnel works just as well if you take your time. I can see why it would be handy in a shop but not really needed at home.
Wow you are so diligent and attentive to detail. Are all Infiniti tech's usually like this? I would be very confident if it were you working on my car.
Thanks Eugene, and your assistant, for a most interesting and informative video. I appreciate your care and attention to detail on the cars on which you work. I have a 370Z and have gotten a good selection of metric tools for working on my car and do appreciate your helpful tips.
Excellent Job! I'm going to try the hose lube as like you had said I heard that can cause problems. Really like to see you do more on the G37. Thank You
Thanks for the great clear step by step instructions. One thing when you turn the heater to 90 degrees for 10 secs, do you turn the engine on or just in accessory mode? Thanks again for helping us out!
Alot of the old coolant still in the engine block, 3-5 times rinse with distilled water through heat cycles and finally add correct volume of coolant concentrate then dilute with distilled water.

You just answered your own question. They removed the bleeder screw to make it MORE difficult for the DIY. Probably too many mechanics and service advisers weren’t getting rich enough!
nice video. I just did a 08 G35 today, same motor, this one had the bleed valve where yours didn't. I didn't see a need to bleed both from there and radiator cap, seems redundant. but I'm sure there's a reason.
good video to learn from bro thanks. i have a little problem with my 2014 370z and i need answers fr, i changed the coolant fluid and the heater hose connecter but afterwards while driving the car i noticed water sound sloshing behind the steering wheel! i am kinda worried tbh and hope u got any idea to figure out what caused that issue and how to solve it. thanks again
@@vqdrew1171 actually it could be many things such as the heater hose is not functioning well so it needs a replacement, or air trapped inside the cooling system. in my case it was a shorten of the coolant fluid all i needed to do is fill it up at MAX level or a little bit more and drive the car after with the heater on all the way up at max heat
Thanks for the detailed steps. This has been helpful. I followed every step but my engine is reving up, just about 1000 rpm. It used to be around 750 at idle. Any thoughts why?
In the 7th minute 38th second . You undid a hose . Im not sure if I pulled it out of somewhere from the other end or should that be lose? Thanks in advance . Great video!
Im praying you see my comment! I have a 2012 g37 sport sedan 3.7 and im trying to find out on the drivers side what the hose is called that comes from the back of the firewall and connects to the upper water coolant inlet pipe. I've tried googling coolant water inlet pipe hose no luck. Some diagrams show it as a fuel evaporator control hose, but it doesn’t look like my hose. Mine has a crack after i JUST replaced the lower pipe short hose that was a royal pain in the butt to get to. I've been online for 5 hours now and can't get it figured out to get the correct hose. Dont even know the diameter of the hose. PLEASE HELP ME! Ive been without a car for 2 weeks waiting on the ither hose & fighting to get the small hose on both ends of the pipes it came off of. No money to hire anyone, so i do the repairs myself. I have pictures of the hose but can't upload them here. HELP!!!!
I see that you are using green coolant, but my research says to use the blue coolant on my 2012 G37 sedan. What year is this G37? Do you have a recommendation on which I should use?
In the instance where your car did have a fitting containing a bleeder screw on the back houses, would there be any additional steps outside of what you have shown us here?
Omg, I just realized that he live an hour away from me and that I'm going to take my Q50 to him for tuning. Lol it was supposed to be August 7th but things got delayed on my end. Hopefully he'll see this comment haha xP.
Hey buddy when u change out radiator and condensors on a q50 infiniti and add coolant is it normal for top hose to get really inflated if not how do i fix that anyway you can help
At 18:31 to 21:50 of your video what should your heat setting be at? Still at max hot with low fan speed? Also what are you revving your engine rpms to and for how long?Thank you for your help in advance!
Quick question the second black tube that you removed form the plastic container where does it lead ? , My G37 for some odd reason doesn't have it so i'm kinda curious.
You mentioned that this cars dont have radiator bleeder but ince you took the white box out ( white box, where indicating the min and max level ) and also you disconnected to hose . As i saw tge hose isnt connected and it is just hanging down... so i logically believe that , if there is air bubbles... than it will run out with that hose and u will loos a little coolent ( but not much and no a big deal , in seance that no way that air bubbles will stay ) as this radiator design is such that air bubbles come out them self without any complications.
I’m having trouble with mine over heating after installing new radiator and fan. Attempted to bled lines but it seems the radiator fans aren’t coming on… I have already checked fuses and they are fine. Fans came on with ac not on heat?
For the over flow when you took tank out and used the hose to plug it and shake. Were does the 2nd hose that stayed in engine bay connect to ? I replaced my overflow tank but i didnt see it plugged in anywhere
I believe it's just an overflow hose and doesn't connect to anything. If your reservoir gets too full for some reason, the excess coolant comes out of that tube and drains onto the ground.
I have a 2006 g35 coupe. I wonder do I have a coolant drain valve ? if I can't locate such valve , can u just do it the old fashion way by turning on heat to max while engine running with rad. cap off?
Hi great videos. I have a Infiniti G35 coupe 2004 my fans are not turn on I check the fuses, relays even the sensor. So when I unplug the temperature sensor my fans star working. But when I plugged back in they stop working. So I don't know what to do. What you think can be the problem. Thank you.
Spill proof funnels seem pretty cool for easy filling and burping but I just cracked the air bleeder valve on my g35 and let it dribble for maybe 1/2 a cup of coolant. I figure by then the air is completely out but really the airs probably completely gone by the time any coolant starts coming out of the air bleeder valve because that's its job. Obviously you want to get a rag or a cup under there... a little coolant around the engine bay is not a huge deal to me as long as it dosnt totally waterfall on any of the electronic connections. Obviously you want to keep pets away when doing any kind of work with coolant and make sure it all gets cleaned up. I wasn't paying 100 percent attention to the video but I believe he said theres an air bleeder under the right airbox which is less convenient then the one in the back of the engine bay ( like they had it on my g35). I’m not doing a complete drain and fill of the coolant, just replacing the connector and hoses and topping off to get back to the max line.
you dont need a spill proof funnel. thats just so it wont make a mess. i always do it without the funnel. just slowly fill it up once the coolant goes down fill it up till the coolant doesnt go down
Does anyone know the part number for this specific radiator drain plug? I have been looking all over and have not found this one shown in the video with the o-ring located at the base and the threads located near the point.
This particular method of draining, does not clean out all the old coolant in the block. Is it acceptable to leave all the old crap in there? How much is left behind when the job is all done?
Hi Dean, this method of replacing the coolant is acceptable per the factory documentation. If the coolant is contaminated with oil or any other foreign mater, you will want to do a more complete replacement (reference the manual for specific instructions). Regarding the clear tube, it should already be present on the radiator drain plug, I believe it is 5/8

Never mind. I took a better look at my car. The filler neck is adjacent to the block, not the radiator. I am replacing hoses, so I wont need to remove the radiator plug to fully drain, but will need it when I fill. I need the air to bleed out as I fill.
Hey i got a leak on a 2008 infinity g35 the coolant is leaking they think its the water outlet that needs to be replaced were are you located i live in sf
1. How long did you let the system flush for? 2. Whats the part numbers on the 2 O-Rings? 3. How much coolant do you need? 4. All I have to do is go buy 2 jugs of the 50/50 blue mix from the dealer? And I wont have to dilute, correct?
This was not a flush but a drain & fill. Do not recall the part numbers for the o-rings but your dealer should carry them. Yes, if you buy blue, you do not have to dillute it.
Usually a "flush is not necessary". If you do want to do a flush type of service, I would recommend using several gallons of distilled water. Run the water and do a few drain & fills. Make sure to check the gravity of the coolant when you're done to make sure you have the proper mix of coolant vs water.

What size is the clear hose that you put on, at the beginning... and then later you swap it out for a black one? 5/8"?

Hugo Estrada you still having that problem?
You might wanna try resetting the ecu if you haven’t done already or just disconnect the battery for a couple ours just the negative end
What's the purpose of turning on the heater for like 10 seconds at the beginning?
g37clips I know this is a late answer, but it's to let the thermostat open up faster, it's also useful for bleeding air out of the system.
To bleed the system and turn the thermostat
Thanks for such a well done tutorial, wish more were done this well.

Where are the >block< drain plugs located? getting at least one of them out would be a much better flush!
No need to flush unless the system is contaminated. The block plugs are taper fit, there is always a chance of damaging the block when using them.

There's no bleeder vauvle on a 2007 g35x right?
Sometimes there is no bleeder valve, this is true. The best way to fill those is using a vacuum fill type system.

Where’s the bleeder valve at
Where can I get that radiator thing with the funnel ?

+Enthusiast Auto Care What product would you use if you were performing a flush?
Usually a "flush is not necessary". If you do want to do a flush type of service, I would recommend using several gallons of distilled water. Run the water and do a few drain & fills. Make sure to check the gravity of the coolant when you're done to make sure you have the proper mix of coolant vs water.
